Well, it finally happened. Colton Underwood finally jumped the fence on The Bachelor , and the moment was — well, it wasn’t everything we dreamed, but it was definitely a grown-ass man jumping a fence and disappearing into the wilds of Portugal. All season, fans wondered what might have driven the usually even-tempered Colton to such a dramatic gesture. After all, with the elimination of Demi and Katherine, most of the ostensible psychopaths had been weeded out. (Demi, we luh you, girl, and we can’t wait to see you wreak havoc in paradise.) That’s our way of saying we expect Demi to be cast on The Bachelor In Paradise , not that we plan to encounter her in the Great Beyond. Anyway, we now know that Colton jumped the fence after getting dumped by Cassie Randolph, the woman who had, to that point, been the frontrunner in the race to win Underwood’s heart. But it was Colton who did the running when Cassie took herself out of the competition after she had made it all the way to the final three. It’s an unusual move, but Cassie was grappling with the new information that her father had not granted Colton permission to propose when the two men spoke during hometowns. It seems that since she was already uncertain if she was ready for marriage, word of her dad’s ambivalence was enough to push Randolph away from Colton. To us, it made perfect sense, and it was certainly more honest than if Cassie had remained in the competition despite her misgivings. But it seems one veteran of the franchise was not a fan of Cassie’s unexpected audible. Ben Higgins spoke out on the matter on this week Lauren Zima’s Roses and Rose web series. “I think she should have done something different with Colton,” Ben said. Higgins revealed that he took issue with the way Cassie “dragged out” the breakup and deflected blame to her father, instead of being straightforward with Colton. “It was very clear that she was not into him,” Ben said. “I think all she wanted to tell him was, ‘You’re a great guy, you’ve proven to be a great guy, but I’m just not that into you. And as a result, I need to leave,'” he shared. “It felt like she was dancing around the subject, going, ‘This is too fast. This isn’t right for me. I just don’t know.’ She knew.” Higgins went on to admit that it’s unfair for anyone to assess the situation at this point, as we have yet to see how it will all play out. “I think it’s hard for him right now… A lot of the end of the season, where he’s jumping the fence, we don’t know how that ends, and that is the most emotional moment we’ve seen yet. None of this story… makes sense without the last two episodes,” he offered. “Right now, we’re sitting in a moment where most of the storyline of this show hasn’t been played out.” Ben then shared his opinion on what should come next for the current cast, as well as his thoughts about ladies looking to use The Bachelor as a springboard for fame. “If I’m honest, I’m a little tainted, just because this whole season, Caelynn and Cassie were rumored to want to be the Bachelorette,” Higgins said. “And I think, as a result, this has influenced my decision. I don’t want anybody coming on this show with the intention of what’s next,” “Caelynn would do great, I’m sure, but my vote would go to Hannah B.,” he added. “If all the women who know her best think she’s going to be a great Bachelorette, then I’ll trust it and I’ll put my vote in for her too.” We have no way of knowing if Ben’s assumptions about fame-chasers are correct, but the show does have a growing problem with contestants who are there for The Bachelor , not the bachelor — which could mean trouble for Colton. Over the past several weeks, we’ve been hearing non-stop rumblings that Teresa will file to divorce husband Joe after he is freed from prison in a couple weeks — and then deported back to Italy. We even reported on the rumor that she’s already met with a divorce lawyer . Now, however, it’s been made clear that all this talk is far closer to a reality than a rumor… according to Teresa herself. Speaking to Andy Cohen during the final part of The Real Housewives of New Jersey reunion, Giudice was asked about this very personal topic and, to her credit we guess, answered very candidly. “I’m not doing a long distance relationship. I’m not doing it,” she told Cohen. “I want somebody with me every day.” Well, yes. We all want that. But Teresa and Joe conspired years ago to break the law when they lied about their assets while filing for bankruptcy. As a result, each served many months in prison; also as a result, a judge decreed this past October that Joe must return to Italy because he never formally became a U.S. citizen. Perhaps you should have thought this whole thing through before you defrauded the government, TG. “I know exactly what happens — I’m sure he’ll be with other women. It happens,” Teresa said, looking ahead to a future of her in America and Joe abroad. “You do the long-distance thing, it’s not going to work. I’d be like, ‘Bye bye.’” What an odd thing to say on multiple levels. First… you’re sure that your husband will be with other women because he lives far away? Doesn’t sound like the most stable relationship. Second… you could just move to Italy, too, you know that, right, Teresa? “Unless my kids say, ‘Mommy, we want to move to Italy,’ [we] are not going],” Teresa said of this option, explaining of her kids: “Gia’s going to college next year; I haven’t spoken to Milania or Audriana about it, we haven’t gotten there yet; and Gabriella already voiced her opinion to me. She was like, ‘That would be so hard for me, Mommy.’ “She doesn’t speak the language. She’s like, ‘That would kill me even more.’” Indeed, Joe and Teresa share four daughters: Gia, 18, Gabriella, 15, Milania, 13, and Audriana, 10. It’s easy to mock this couple because they’re spoiled and entitled and just suck a whole lot. But we do feel bad for their children. “It’s like starting a whole new life,” Teresa says of moving. “And they’ve been through so much already.” Teresa, meanwhile, is already looking ahead — both professionally and personally. She is allegedly lining up a Bravo spinoff that will focus on her life as a newly single mother. And she appears to be romantically involved with Blake Schreck , a realtor who is 20 years her junior. From the start of Meghan Markle’s pregnancy , the tabloid press has obsessively agonized over two questions. For starters, they want to know if Meghan is having a boy or a girl . Hilariously, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex recently stymied those investigative efforts by revealing that they intend to take a “fluid approach” to gender while raising their first child. How hilarious would it be to watch Piers Morgan progressively lose what’s left of his mind as Meg and Harry force the British press to wait years before revealing their child’s gender? The other big question, of course, is that of Meghan’s due date . That one’s been the cause of international speculation for months now, but Meg and Harry have consistently kept mum. (Get it? Mum?! Like, what British people call their … eh, forget it.) “No, it’s actually very sweet. It’s a very sweet, nurturing thing to ask. We’re nearly there!” And folks, when Meg says she’s “nearly there” she’s really not joking. Early reports pinned down Meghan’s due date at some point between late March and early April. And those who have been closely monitoring her bump (the term “royal-watchers” is quite literal sometimes) say the duchess looks as though she’ll be ready to welcome a bundle of joy within a matter of weeks. Unfortunately, Meg’s “nearly there” comments are probably the closest we’ll get to an official due date. Of course, it’s not as though the royal couple is keeping the big day under wraps for Kardashian-esque reasons. In fact, they’d probably prefer that the UK tabloids stop speculating, and we’re sure they’d like as little attention as possible on the big day. The reason why Meg, Harry, and all royals keep such details on the down-low is for security purposes. With Meghan, there’s the added concern that she’ll be giving birth at the hospital that’s nearest to her home in Frogmore Cottage, and not in the same London hospital in which Kate Middleton delivered her children. We’re sure Meg’s security detail has the place mapped out, but still — it’s a facility with which they’re unfamiliar. Whatever the case, Meghan’s baby shower is complete; she and Harry have set up shop at Frogmore; and the world is ready for the arrival of another royal baby. Everyone’s excited — except, of course, for the many Meg haters who refuse to shut up on social media. It’ll be harder than ever for these dolts to find fault with the duchess in the weeks after she becomes a mom. Sadly, many of them may be forced to take up hobbies. On Sunday night, the controversial documentary Leaving Neverland made its debut on HBO. The film details some of the most shocking child molestation claims against the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson. While Jackson shelled out tens of millions in court settlements to numerous families during his lifetime, the film focuses on the accusations of two of the singer’s alleged victims, Wade Robson and James Safechuck, both of whom are now grown men. The film leaves little doubt as to Jackson’s guilt, and many have reported finding the content so appalling that they have been unable to watch the film in its entirety. As with the Bill Cosby case, even if one is of the misguided opinion that the alleged victims are all lying, the perpetrator has confessed to enough over the years to earn a full-blown “canceled” verdict in the court of pop culture. Jackson’s family has likened Leaving Neverland to ” a public lynching ,” but even if there is some bias on the filmmakers’ part (and that’s a big “if”), the facts of the case speak for themselves. And when it comes to the investigation against Jackson, the facts may be enough to make you physically ill. All of this puts Michael’s three children in a very awkward position — particularly the disgraced music legend’s only daughter, Paris Jackson. Among her siblings, Paris is the one who’s most determined to make a name for herself in the entertainment industry. And she’s also been the most vocal defender of her father’s innocence. According to a new report from The Sun , Paris is concerned that the new allegations against her father might serve to derail her acting career — which she apparently hasn’t gotten around to launching yet. “Paris had hoped to launch a successful career in acting but fears Leaving Neverland has ruined her chances of it taking off,” an insider tells the magazine. “She was in a movie last year but believes the documentary is already scaring directors away because the abuse her father is accused of may put movie goers off her,” the source adds. “It all comes down to marketing. “The worry is that any movies she stars in will be derailed if Michael’s abuse scandal is all people think about when they see her on screen. She wants to act but knows this could affect those plans.” Well, if Paris is willing to listen to reason and stop blindly defending her father in the face of a growing mountain of evidence that points to his guilt. then she’ll likely be just fine. We understand that can’t be an easy thing, but then again, neither is building a successful acting career without the help of industry connections and incredible wealth.
