Tyler Perry shared his recent encounter with the Atlanta Police Department on his Facebook fan page yesterday. Perry says he was stopped by police officers soon after leaving his Atlanta studios. The officers did not know who he was and he felt that he was in a situation that could have gone very badly until another officer arrived. This is an excerpt of what he shared: A few days before President Obama was supposed to speak at my studio, I was leaving the studio, headed to the airport. Most times when I leave the studio I have an unmarked escort. Other times I constantly check in my rearview mirror to be sure that I’m not being followed. It’s a safety precaution that my security team taught me. As I got to an intersection, I made a left turn from the right lane and was pulled over by two police officers. I pulled the car over and put it in park. Then, I let the window down and sat in the car waiting for the officer. The officer came up to the driver’s door and said that I made an illegal turn. I said, “I signaled to get into the turning lane, then made the turn because I have to be sure I’m not being followed.” He said, “why do you think someone would be following you?” More than 92,000 fans liked his thoughts, another 8,741 shared them and more than 15,000 comments have been made on this story as of 10:15 P.M. ET. Go to Tyler Perry’s Facebook Fan for the rest of the story. 20-Year-Old Chased To Her Death By Her Cousin’s Knife-Wielding Bronx Hood Booger Ex And Friends Who Mistakenly Thought She Was His New Girl

This is so fawkin’ sad yo… What is wrong with people ??? A knife-wielding attacker chased a young Manhattan woman to her death, and cops late Friday arrested a suspect. The bizarre incident in the Bronx may have been sparked by a case of mistaken identity, the victim’s distraught boyfriend said. The 20-year-old victim, Sienna Edwards, was killed Thursday night trying to jump from one high-rise balcony to another, while trying to deliver birthday gifts to her cousin’s young daughter, a police source said. The medical examiner, after conferring with police, declared the death a homicide and said that Edwards fell 14 stories trying to escape a menacing attack. Kenya Edmonds, 23, mother of the child, was arrested and charged with second degree murder and manslaughter. “When she called me, she said they had a knife to her neck,” said her tearful boyfriend, Timothy Smith, 23. “I called her back 50 times, but I never heard back from her.” Smith’s cousin, Carl Purcell, 22, had asked Edwards to go to the apartment to deliver birthday treats to his 3-year-old daughter. Purcell is barred from the home — where his ex-girlfriend Edmonds lives — by an order of protection, Smith said. But in a tragic twist, those inside mistook Edwards for Purcell’s new girlfriend, Smith said. After the frightening phone call, Smith rushed from the Harlem apartment he had shared with Edwards since the day after they met last March, only to see her body on the ground outside the E. 179th St. building. The birthday girl was inside the apartment when Edwards, carrying a gift and a birthday cake, arrived at 9:30 p.m. The ex-girlfriend, Kenya, the ex’s sister and a female friend were also present. Shortly after her arrival, Edwards called 911 “looking for help,” Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said Friday. “In the background there are voices that say, ‘You’re not going to leave here alive, you’re not going to leave here alive,’” Kelly said. The dispatcher heard that ominous message up to six times, but nothing from the caller, so they notified police. Officers tried to trace the cell phone call, but weren’t able to locate the apartment. About 10 p.m., someone called 911 and reported that Edwards had committed suicide by jumping over a 5-foot-high balcony. “The investigative premise is she may have been pushed from that balcony or fell trying to escape individuals who were trying to kill her,” a source said Friday afternoon. Several hours later, the medical examiner finished an autopsy and classified Edwards’ death as a homicide. “She was only 20 years old,” a shaken Smith said. “I would accept it if you jumped her, but not to do that. She tried to help people. People liked being around her. “She was an outgoing person.” A completely senseless death!!! She was trying to deliver presents to a child and these triflin’ broads couldn’t let her LIVE? Source More On Bossip! BFWTFs: Random Celebrity Buds You Wouldn’t Imagine Hanging Out Watch Your Mouths! Race Matters: Niecy Nash Says Black Celebrities Are Not As Desirable As White Celebs… “If Kim Kardashian Was Black, She Wouldn’t Be On TV!”

She may have a point… Niecy Nash’s TLC wedding special raked in nearly 5 million viewers, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that the network gave the comedian her own show, “Leave It to Niecy.” Although she is enjoying her new reality TV-found fame, she says she doesn’t have to worry about becoming as famous as the Kardashians …. because she is black: “The truth is black celebrities are not as sought after in the press as white celebrities, and that is comforting,” Niecy says. “As a black celebrity, if we go out to a hot spot, you know there are going to be paparazzi there, but we aren’t the girl who someone is jumping out behind your trash [for] when we get home. So it’s nice to be able to live your dream and not be overwhelmed by what can be a downside of the business.” Niecy also points out that when readers flip through weekly celebrity magazines, they can count on one hand the number of times a black celebrity is pictured. But rather than find this trend disturbing, Niecy is grateful. “There is no reason to talk about it ’cause it’s a peaceful life,” says Niecy. “I’m not saying we should be stalked — I like it. I didn’t get into this business for other people to know my name. As a little girl, my destiny was stamped onto the canvas of my imagination at 5 years old. I was watching soaps with my grandmother. … The most gorgeous black women I had ever seen in my life came out, and I knew that that is what I wanted to do — be fabulous and black and on TV.” So if Britney Spears or Kim Kardashian were black, would they have a very different relationship with the press? “Yes,” Niecy replied. Do you think Niecy has a good point of view on this topic or is she trying to downplay the fact that paps aren’t chasing her around Hollyweird? Source More On Bossip! Jaleel White Denies Abuse of Bridget Hardy

Jaleel White is speaking out against claims by his former girlfriend Bridget Hardy , who told Star magazine that White verbally and physically abused her in 2010. “The allegations made against me back in 2010 have suspiciously resurfaced in time to coincide with my new show on Syfy and Dancing With the Stars ,” he said. “Bridget Hardy has consistently shown a knack for timing throughout our child custody disputes,” insists Jaleel White , the father of her two-year-old daughter. “When you’re doing well in life, it’s par for the course for [people] to try and knock you down. But when the individual is also the mother of your child, it is particularly hurtful.” “I have co-parented in peace and compliance with the law for over two years.” The Dancing With the Stars competitor went on to elaborate on the relationship he’s had with Hardy, who he says he hasn’t seen physically in almost six months. “In the summer of 2010, my 11 month old daughter was taken to Seattle, Washington for what was supposed to have been a planned vacation and as Ms. Hardy declared herself in her recent exclusive interview, she told me emphatically, ‘I’m done.'” “Our relationship came to an end. “Ms. Hardy has lived in the greater Los Angeles area for over eight years. My daughter was born in California and, thanks to our judicial process, my daughter remains a California resident. Up until now, we have had a workable joint custody arrangement.” “As much as I would love to go detail for detail refuting Ms. Hardy’s claims about the specifics of what was our relationship, the family court judge made it very clear to me any public discussion of our case and ordeal would be held against me in a court of law.” “Ms. Hardy’s attempts at greater sums of money beyond child support have continued now for two years. And I guess my most recent successes have been too much for her to stomach. I’m assuming I have not received her votes these past Monday nights.”

Trayvon Martin’s Death ‘An Assassination,’ Killer Mike Says

‘He was killed by a terrorist,’ Atlanta MC declares on ‘RapFix Live,’ while Prodigy adds, ‘[Zimmerman] murdered that kid for no reason.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway Killer Mike on “RapFix Live” Photo: Natasha Chandel/ MTV News Speculation over what happened the night of February 26 when 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was tragically shot dead continues to run rampant. On Wednesday, police surveillance video emerged showing the gunman, George Zimmerman, in handcuffs. The fact that he wasn’t charged with a crime that night and was release has fueled a public outcry for justice. Among the outraged are rappers Killer Mike and Mobb Deep’s Prodigy , who both appeared on Wednesday’s “RapFix Live” to discuss Trayvon’s death. Killer Mike called the shooting “an assassination.” “He was killed by a terrorist; there is no other way to put it,” Mike said, as he and “RapFix” host Sway wore hooded sweatshirts in a symbolic show of support for the teen, who died wearing a similar article of clothing. Via Skype, Prodigy said, “It’s definitely a murder, that dude just murdered him in cold blood. The dude, Zimmerman, I don’t know what he thought he was doing, but he murdered that kid for no reason.” It has been reported that Zimmerman called 911 on the night of February 26 after he saw Trayvon, who was wearing hoodie, walking through the Sanford, Florida, gated community where he lived and served as a neighborhood watchman. The police dispatcher instructed Zimmerman not to pursue the teen, but he reportedly ignored those instructions. What happened then is unclear, but when Sanford police arrived on the scene, Trayvon was dead. Zimmerman claimed Trayvon attacked him and he acted in self-defense, and police didn’t charge him with a crime. Critics who have watched the police-surveillance footage said Zimmerman doesn’t appear to have injuries consistent with his beating account, but the footage is grainy. Prodigy believes Sanford police should have immediately charged Zimmerman. “The burden of proof is on the person that’s claiming self-defense,” he said. The case has tremendous racial undertones: Zimmerman is a white man of Hispanic origin, and Trayvon was black. Killer Mike said he’s particularly concerned with the “Stand Your Ground” law, Florida legislation that allows a person to kill in cases of self-defense. The Atlanta MC believes that young black men should be armed to protect themselves under the confines of the law. “If you live below the Mason-Dixon line, gun laws allow you to arm yourself; you should be armed,” Killer Mike urged. “Because we live in a state where we are hunted, we live in a state that allows the conditions of black men to walk around in fear.” Prodigy believes that if Zimmerman isn’t charged, similar incidents might occur. “What the police department out there is doing is they’re gonna start a trend of people that’s just gonna go out there and think they’re neighborhood watch or whatever, and they’re just gonna clap whoever they feel like clappin’,” he said. Many people suspect that George Zimmerman, in seeking to justify shooting Trayvon Martin, exaggerated the threat posed by the unarmed teenager. But the attorneys hired by Martin’s family have a history of exaggeration as well. REVIEW: Not-So-Spooky Intruders Preys On, and Over-Psychoanalyzes, Childhood Fears

A movie about childhood nightmares that plays too much like an actual, incoherent nightmare to make a good movie, Intruders is a psychodrama divided against itself. Little kids don’t need a reason to get worked up about what’s in their closet, or to be told to worry. When it comes to being scared their imaginations are half cocked at all times, more than prepared to fill every blank with the bogeyman. Although Intruders , much like last year’s Insidious , is framed as a sins-of-the-father spook-fest, it assumes too little of its audience — specifically that we too need only contemplate a darkened wardrobe or the outline of a giant, grabby dude to want to jump out of our skin. Despite being separated by the English channel and a few countries in between, both little Juan (Izán Corchero) and 12-year-old Mia (Ella Purnell) are having the same bad dream: A man in a Grim Reaper/Hazmat getup visits them in the night and tries to steal their faces. Juan, with his penchant for creepy bedtime stories, seems to have frightened himself into a state. Mia, having been mysteriously drawn to the tree on her grandparents’ estate where a hand-written story of the “Hollow Man” is hidden, becomes cursed with the subject’s presence. Why the pair have imagined or conjured this faceless fellow is a question that director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo ( 28 Weeks Later ) leaves wide open, much like my bedroom door every night until I was about 17. With the hall light on, please. Although the expertly chilled atmosphere of this dark world is re-visited every other scene — with Fresnadillo leaning on the scare horn — storywise we have to assume what any parent would: Either these kids have been eating too many Doritos or it’s a dreamlife kink that will eventually work itself out. “It’s just a story,” Mia’s father, John ( Clive Owen ), tells her. “You needn’t be afraid of stories.” They’re both a little afraid of mom (Carice van Houten), though, and why not — she’s always throwing cold water on their bonding time, not least of all when she actually threw cold water on the bogeyman effigy John built and lit up in the backyard to help ease Mia’s fears. Owen is as warm and doting a presence here as he was in the recent online-exploitation parable Trust , and he tries to give the similarly plotted unseating of that stability the same dad-on-fire urgency. But the script (by Nicolás Casariego and Jamie Marques) feels disordered somehow, as though the materials for a decent horror allegory arrived in the mail without instructions and a few key pieces missing, and the Intruders team tried to put it together anyway. Least successful is the toggling back and forth between Juan — who is carted to and from the Catholic Church as his mother (Pilar López de Ayala) seeks help for his night terrors — and Mia, who favors her father and whose storyline is favored in the film. When John is involved in a dreadful accident at work on a construction site, the story slouches in a potentially interesting direction: Are these two so close that they’re actually sharing anxieties? And what would a little Spanish boy have to do with that? When neither Jesus, nor dad, nor ACT security, nor the police can vanquish the Hollow Man from Mia’s bedroom, the resolution appears by a kind of process of elimination: Psychiatry to the rescue! If it didn’t work for Psycho , the medical, explanatory twist tanks what little dramatic momentum Intruders had going into the home stretch. Owen and Purnell, a strikingly beautiful young girl last seen playing the young Keira Knightley in Never Let Me Go , do their best to bring emotional life to an oddly staged, pseudo-confessional conclusion. Their commitment is wasted on an ersatz psycho-thriller more interested in the aesthetics of scary movies than the whys, whats and wows. Follow Michelle Orange on Twitter .
