According to Oakland, California’s official press release/FAQ on the recent difficulties (video) of removing Occupy Oakland protesters from their encampment, the local Police Department didn’t do a lot of things: Q. Did the Police deploy rubber bullets, flash-bag grenades? A. No, the loud noises that were heard originated from M-80 explosives thrown at Police by protesters. Anti-Wall Street demonstrators of the Occupy Chicago movement stood their ground in a downtown park in noisy but peaceful defiance of police orders to clear out, prompting at least 100 arrests early Sunday, authorities said. Occupy Chicago spokesman Joshua Kaunert vowed after the arrests that the protesters would be coming back. “We’re not going anywhere. There are still plenty of us,” Kaunert told The Associated Press after police began the wave of arrests that took more than an hour to complete. Police began taking people into custody just before 1 a.m. Sunday, first in a trickle and then. Those arrested were led in groups to vans and two large white buses. “Take me next! Take me next!” some shouted as police began the arrests. Others chanted as they were led off: “We’ll be back!” Officers had begun placing metal barricades around the part of Chicago’s Grant Park known as Congress Plaza about 11:10 p.m. Saturday, minutes after the park had closed. Soon after that, police went through the crowd and warned people to leave or risk arrest for remaining in the closed park in violation of a city ordinance. Several of the protesters who remained inside the barricades in the park sat on the ground in the chilly Chicago night air. Others locked arms and then the arrests began as trickle before picking up speed. “One: We are the people! Two: We are united! Three: The occupation is not leaving!” demonstrators shouted. Others joined in from just outside the park. Police said they made approximately 100 arrests early Sunday but did not have a specific count. Kaunert said he expected the final figure to be higher after late arrests but police did not immediate return later calls seeking comment. Kaunert said those arrested were non-violent. “Everybody was very peaceful and smiling and there was no violence, though a lot of chanting,” he said. He urged authorities to let the people resume protesting peacefully against the perceived corporate greed and other ills they see on Wall Street and elsewhere. He noted it was the second straight weekend that arrests had been made in the park after 175 arrests the previous Sunday after protesters set up tents past public hours. Source

By Rob Markman Soulja Boy in Temple Police Department custody on Tuesday Photo: Splash News It was supposed to be a day of celebration for Soulja Boy , but whatever plans he had have been curtailed. MTV News has learned that the Atlanta MC has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Temple Police Department’s public information officer, Dana Rampy, confirmed to MTV News that Soulja Boy (born De’Andre Cortez Way) and four other individuals were arrested early Tuesday around 2:30 a.m. ET while driving west on I-20 in a black Cadillac Escalade. The arresting officer found marijuana, guns and cash in the car. These mickiefickies ought to be ashamed of themselves… An armed robbery is something that takes a pretty big pair of cajones to even attempt, much less pull off. It goes without saying that one would not want to be identified when committing such an act, and thus a mask or some sort of disguise is usually customary. These brilliant criminal minds went above and beyond the call of douchebag duty and donned some of the dumbest disguises that even made some Police chuckle. Flip through the pages and peep the hilarious insanity.

Young demonstrators in Zuccotti Park tells MTV News they ‘can’t easily be thrown out of this space.’ By Joel Hanek Photo: Mario Tama/ Getty Images NEW YORK — On a damp Friday morning (October 14), thousands of protesters assembled in the city’s Zuccotti Park let out cheers of elation and relief. They had been facing what seemed to be an imminent confrontation with the New York Police Department after Mayor Michael Bloomberg visited the park on Wednesday evening and announced that a crew would move in to clean the area forcing the temporary eviction of demonstrators . While Occupiers were prepared to resist the mandatory evacuation, in the end, the private company that owns the park decided at the 11th hour to postpone any cleaning efforts. MTV News was on site at Occupy Wall Street in the early dawn hours tracking all of the events as they went down. At about 6 a.m. ET on Friday, organizers conducted a special general assembly of the Occupy Wall Street movement, informing the crowd that committed supporters who chose to stay in the park once the cleaners turned up would likely face arrest by the NYPD. But then, with minutes to go before the expected standoff, an organizer reported that were was “breaking news.” She went on to read a statement off of her iPhone , announced to the crowd, “I have an announcement from Brookfield Properties. I’d like to read a brief statement from Deputy Mayor Halloway: ‘Late last night we received notice from the owners of Zuccotti Park, Brookfield Properties, that they are postponing their cleaning.’ ” Supporters erupted into cheers and used designated Occupy sign language to express their approval. Soon, they were chanting “The people united / Will never be defeated.” Aaron Khandros, a student at Connecticut’s Wesleyan University, had traveled to New York City to show his support, knowing well that he might face arrest if he refused to leave the park. “We came out here because we thought that people were going to come out here and try and shut it down, that Bloomberg was using this cleaning thing as an excuse,” he explained. “This seemed like one of our last chances to express our solidarity with this crowd, so we came as quickly as we could.” Emma Francis-Snyder, an organizer with the Occupy Wall Street outreach program, had been on site since 4 p.m. on Thursday afternoon. Exhausted (but also rather thrilled) by the events of the previous 48 hours, she explained how the group had spent an anxious night. “We’ve relocated a bunch of our materials to a storage space because we weren’t sure what was going to happen,” Francis-Snyder said, citing the experiences of Occupy Denver and Occupy Austin, where movements had been shut down under the pretext of sanitation. In a bid to be proactive, the Wall Street occupiers decided to clean the park themselves. “There was a lot of stress throughout the night just trying to clean,” Francis-Snyder said hours before the postponement was announced. “There were people working endlessly, tirelessly, trying to gather all of our belongings; trying to figure out what to do with them, where to go. It is what it is — whatever’s going to happen, is going to happen.” Although they had prepared for the worst, some demonstrators said the final outcome was not unexpected. “I think I was in shock. I wasn’t entirely surprised because if you come out here, there are at least maybe 2,000 people out here, and I think that the Mayor knows that the whole world is watching,” Senia Barragan, an organizer with Occupy Wall Street’s press committee, told MTV News. “And they know that we’re a serious movement that can’t easily be thrown out of this space. Well this one sounds like a doozie. Two pregnant women fighting and slashing up other people and all over a man… Two pregnant women were arrested after a fight inside a hospital room that left a woman and a teenage girl briefly hospitalized Tuesday afternoon, police said. At 11:47 a.m., Upland police were dispatched to Crozer-Chester Medical Center on a call about a scuffle involving a weapon in one of the hospital rooms. When police arrived, they found two pregnant women, ages 21 and 22, fighting with a 36-year–old woman and a 15-year-old girl. Upland Police Investigator Steve Jackson said the victims had “wounds consistent with an edge weapon,” but could not elaborate on what type of weapon was used. The victims were treated for minor injuries at the hospital and were released about an hour later, said Kathy Scullin, vice president of marketing at Crozer-Chester. The pregnant suspects were waiting to be discharged from the hospital Tuesday evening. “Once they’re cleared medically from Crozer they’ll be brought to Chester City headquarters to be processed,” Jackson said. Upland police Chief John Easton says the women were all visiting a male patient who is recovering from a gunshot wound. Why in the world would these ladies be fighting while pregnant??? Sounds like some straight up foolishness because they were all probably fighting over the dude laid up in the hospital bed with the gunshot wounds. SMH. Ladies get it together!!! Source
A leading cardiologist for the California Medical Board told a jury today that Dr. Conrad Murray was grossly negligent in his treatment of Michael Jackson. Dr. Alon Steinberg testified that Murray, who’s facing involuntary manslaughter charges in the June 2009 death of the pop icon, demonstrated an “extreme deviation” from standard practices in the medical care he provided. That, more than anything else, could lead to Murray’s conviction. The Michael Jackson autopsy photo displayed in court Tuesday and Murray’s recording of the delirious star are chilling, but don’t necessarily prove his guilt. Steinberg’s testimony is a different ballgame. We’re not on the jury, but it’s hard to imagine they won’t be influenced by some of this expert’s views. He reviewed Murray’s case relying solely on transcripts from his police interview because he wanted “to judge Dr. Murray on his very own words.” Dr. Steinberg made it clear that he is a cardiologist, not an anesthesiologist. That said, these are a few of his observations of Murray’s medical care: Murray did not take notes, typically standard for insurance and legal reasons, but most importantly for the patient … this caused confusion in the ER. Murray lacked basic medical equipment in case of an emergency; In addition, Murray didn’t have an assistant on hand in case of an emergency. There were six separate, distinct deviations of standard of medical care. Each example of Murray’s deviations amounts to “gross negligence.” Propofol is used for procedures in a hospital, never as a sleep aid. Murray’s biggest mistake was not making the 911 call immediately .
You may know Draya from her previous relationship with Chris Brown, seeing her on the covers of countless men’s magazines, music videos, or even from the controversy surrounding her arrest over “child endangerment” accusations. But now, we simply now Draya from her role on the newest season of “Basketball Wives, LA”. She’s the center of attention and the cause of all the drama on the show. From her groupie reputation, outspoken personality and desire to fit in the the other “wives”, it seems that this chick just can’t catch a break . I recently sat down with the model turned reality star to hear her side of the story and see just what really went down with her and the other girls on “Basketball Wives LA”. Take a look at what Draya had to say about her groupie reputation, being linked to famous men, new business ventures, dealing with the backstabbing and drama on the show and even her dating life. There’s definitely more to this girl than boobs, booty and a stripper pole! HelloBeautiful: A lot of people question why you’re on the cast of “Basketball Wives” considering that your not married or engaged to a baller. How did you really get hooked up with the cast? Draya: I met Gloria through an acting class. She was in LA trying to pursue her acting career and I was already involved in the acting world. We became friends and she introduced me to the group. HB: Since you’ve been on the show its been nothing but drama.. and its all been geared towards you.. why do you think that everybody loves to hate on you? Draya : I’ve tried to figure out a reason as to why they would sit around and talk about me all day. But I’m not 45 so I can’t put myself in that mentality. So I don’t know why they do it. I just don’t know. But I’m absolutely favored on the show. People have tried to understand me and understand where I’m coming from. That’s pretty much my whole point as to what I wanted to do. HB: So what happened between you and Laura in that boxing ring? Did you have any idea why she was taking all her anger and aggression out on you? Draya: I had no idea she had beef with me. I guess they planned for me and her to fight each other because when it was time to get in the ring with her, nobody wanted to go in. I’m the only one that shouldn’t have gotten into the ring because I’m the only that makes money off my face. I’m the one that has the most to lose. But I didn’t want to look like a punk so I got in. It was supposed to just be the techniques that we learned and he only showed us two punches and two kicks. She starts swinging like a bat out of hell so I’m thinking that this is a street fight now. She never said anything about it. What they didn’t show was that we went two rounds, like we fought for a while. It wasn’t just a beat down like it looks. HB: This week’s episode was crazy! The girls pulled up the police report from the situation with your son and attacked you! How did that feel? What was going through your mind during that confrontation? Draya: I just look at them like who has the time to do all that. I show these ladies nothing but a nice side of me. It’s not like I showed them any sneaky characteristics about myself for them to not trust me. Why would you look up something on someone who has been about all about positivity? Why would you want to find the bad? They went out of their way to try and find something. I knew that this was something that was going to come out and that it was going to be a topic. HB: Why did you want to be included in their “circle” so bad? Draya: I didn’t want to be included in their circle, I was just being friendly. They invited me to everything that I have showed up to. I wouldn’t try extra hard to be their friend. I got invited to places and I felt going would be nice. I didn’t know what they were saying behind the scenes or when they were together without me. I didn’t know any of that was taking place. As you see they hug and they’re nice and then everything takes a left turn. If you saw any of the bonus clips, where we’re talking about how I used to strip, we’re having a regular, friendly, laughable conversation and then all of a sudden it takes a left turn. It’s just really annoying. HB: Do things between you and the other girls eventually get better on the show? Draya: Things get better as far as what I’m trying to do. Our relationships go up and down and all around. Everybody goes through it with everybody. Just pay close attention. Do you still talk to any of the girls from the show? Draya: I still talk to Malaysia. I don’t really talk to the other girls unless it involves business. HB: Do you have any regrets from being on the show? Draya: No, I don’t have any regrets from being on the show because it’s helped my business. HB: Are you dating someone right now, and do you have a celeb crush? Draya: Yes, I am dating someone right now. I don’t have a celeb crush. I really don’t do that. HB: What do you have to say to people who call u a jump off? Do you feel like they have a valid point or are they just simply “haters”? Draya: I was dating people in the industry who are well known. I’m a normal girl that likes to date guys. If I was dating regular guys nobody would say anything its just because these guys are well known. I’m not just this sex crazed girl that people make me out to be. I’m really in LA working my butt off. I actually have a new business that’s coming soon and you can see more of that on the show. 5 Questions we always ask… What’s in your bag? Mascara, a million lollipops from the bank, lip gloss, jewelry ( in case I have to change it from day to night) If you were forced to get a tattoo, what would it be of? I have 11 tattoos already! But the most meaningful tattoos I have are my mom and my son’s name. Everything else is just artwork. What’s your vice and where do you go to get it? I have to be waxed all over! I go to this salon in LA. What’s one urge you get but never act on? I want to sing in public but I’m always too shy to do it in front of my friends! I can do it in front of strangers but not my friends because they’ll judge me! When was the last time you cried? The episode that just aired this week was the last time I cried, and that was two months ago. Does this heifer know it’s 2011? The British media is digging for dirt falling in love with Kelly Rowland now that she’s a UK TV star. And somehow, the Mirror dug up LaTavia Roberson who was more than happy to reminisce about how rough the Destiny’s Child days and how wonderful Kelly turned out despite it all. First she told them that Daddy Matty was a tyrant. The tears fell hard when manager Matthew Knowles, father of bandmate Beyonce, tore into her after a Destiny’s Child show where she had faltered during a dance routine he had drilled into “his” girls. “Where were you tonight, Kelly?” he bawled at her after a gig in Atlanta in 1997. “I watched you mess up 12 dance steps.” LaTavia Roberson, Kelly’s childhood friend and a founder member of the all-girl supergroup, recalls: “Matthew did not mince his words and it can be tough to take that kind of criticism when you are a little girl. We would try not to let it break us. “But Kelly was the sensitive one, and sometimes she would go to her room and cry.” Latavia says he acted like an army drill sergeant, making them sing as they jogged in the park and rehearse dance routines in the family living room for hours on end. They even held joint prayer sessions to ask God to help them get the record deal they craved so much. It was like the famously regimented childhood of the Jackson Five. “We used to call him Joe Jackson,” says Latavia. “It’s not like he beat us with his belt or anything, but he was very strict. Beyonce was the only one brave enough to stand up to him.” “We worked really hard. It was rehearse, rehearse, rehearse. It would be the four of us and he was like a drill sergeant. When summertime came he would start a camp at his house in Houston. “He would make us wake up early in the morning and take us to Herman Park. There was a three-and-a-half mile track and we would sing while we jogged around it. Then we would go to the house and rehearse. “That’s what our days consisted of, seven days a week. Looking back, working that hard did cost us our childhood. But at the time we were just focused on living out our dreams.”
