11-Year-Old Girl Finds Ecstasy Pill in Sonic Drive-In Hamburger

An 11-year-old girl and her entire family received a hell of a shock when the girl opened a Sonic Drive-In hamburger. Within the wrapping was an ecstasy pill. Yes, someone absolutely went to jail over this. Three people, in fact. A family collected their order from a Sonic Drive-In in Texas. The family’s 11-year-old girl was opening her 4-year-old brother’s meal for him. Inside, she noticed an odd tablet within the wrapping. Cleverly, she neither ignored it nor ate it, and asked her parents if it was candy. Her parents were immediately suspicious, and took the pill to police, explaining where they had found it. Police tested it, and found that the tablet contained MDNA — also known as ecstasy. Taylor Police Chief Henry Fluck, who presumably joined the police after years of being bullied for his last name, shared the story at a press conference. Fluck revealed that it was not long after the field test results that they headed to Sonic to make an arrest. As it turns out, they made three arrests. Manager Tanisha Dancer, 30, was arrested. So were two other employees, Jonathan Roberson, 35, and Jose Molina, 22. Dancer’s initial arrest was on an outstanding felony larceny warrant from Guadalupe County. However, when police conducted a search of her person in Williamson County Jail, they found something a little more recent. She was, they discovered, in possession of three ecstasy pills. They booked her for possession of a controlled substance. Fluck’s statement mentions that the pills found on Dancer closely resembled the one found in the burger. (This is what ecstasy pills can look like, though these are not the pills from that case) Dancer was, of course, fired from Sonic. Following her arrest, she was also charged with endangering a child and delivering a controlled substance. Drugs may be a complicated issue, but no children should be finding them in their food. Whether it was malice or an accident, someone needs to be held accountable whenever something like this happens. Jonathan Roberson was arrested on four outstanding warrants. Those warrants include accusations of marijuana possession, theft, and driving without a license. It sounds like it may have just been his bad luck that he happened to be working at this particular Sonic on this particular day. According to police, Jose Molina was arrested on an accusation of possession of marijuana. it doesn’t sound like Molina had done anything wrong — just allegedly something illegal. Molina, at least, was released on $1,500 bond. Sonic released a statement on this scandal. “The franchisee takes guest safety and food safety very seriously,” the statement reads. “Local police are investigating this incident,” Sonic affirms. “And the franchisee is cooperating with police in their investigation,” “Each franchise organization is an independent employer and thus responsible for its own employment-related policies, practices, and decisions,” Sonic says. In other words, corporate doesn’t want to get sued for what one store did. That’s not going to reassure customers that they’re tkaing it seriously, howeve.r “The franchisee has terminated three employees in connection with this incident,” Sonic reports. We’ve seen restaurants get worse PR than this. View Slideshow: Subway Fail: No One Votes in Saddest Twitter Poll of All Time

British Soccer Player Blames Fan Abuse On Media Racial Bias That’s Also Found In The US

See the original post here:

A Black British soccer player ignored the racist abuse yelled at him from a fan but commented on how it was fueled by the racial bias of some media outlets, which is also seen in the United States. SEE ALSO: Texas Official Defends Racist Stereotype: ‘You Can’t Count On A Black Quarterback’ England and Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling said Sunday that irresponsible media outlets to “fuel racism” through their portrayal of young Black soccer players, the Guardian reported. His remarks appeared on social media after the police launched an investigation into a fan of the opposing team who was recorded on video at Saturday’s match allegedly yelling a racial slur at Sterling. It happened in the first half of a match against Chelsea when Sterling went to pick up the ball in front of the stands. “…For all the newspapers that don’t understand why people are racists in this day and age, all I have to say is have a second thought about fair publicity and give all players an equal chance,” Sterling wrote on Instagram . BT are apparently investigating the footage of Sterling being racially abused. 1st time I saw this pic i thought Sterling was laughing in their faces whilst they shouted. I hope that’s what he did. Look how angry they are. No place for this venom in football #MCFC #Sterling pic.twitter.com/WVs5oo7yOb — Paul McGarraghy (@PaulMcGarraghy) December 8, 2018 In his media post, Sterling gave the example of a young Black player who was criticized in a newspaper article for “splashing” his salary on a mansion before he even played his first professional match. Sterling said the rookie buying a house for his mother was the right thing to do, but Sterling also noted that the paper failed to criticize a young white player who did the same thing. “This young Black kid is looked at in a bad light,” Sterling stated. A University of Missouri researcher in 2015 reported similar media racial bias in the United States on how athletes are covered. Stories on African-American athletes focus primarily on criminal actions while stories about white athletes are overwhelmingly positive. Among the findings, more than 66 percent of the crime stories involved Black athletes while only 22 percent involved white athletes. More than 70 percent of domestic violence stories involved Black athletes and only 17 percent involved white athletes. “True cultural sensitivity requires the eradication of racial and ethnic stereotyping; thus, journalists and reporters must reflect on how their own unfounded beliefs about race differences in sports likely contribute to the stereotyping of black athletes as engaged in more criminal activity and innately physically gifted yet lacking in intelligence and strong work ethics,” the researcher Cynthia Frisby said. By Sunday morning, the authorities had not arrested the fan. “We are aware of a video circulating online in which it is claimed racial abuse was allegedly directed at a player … We will review the footage to determine whether any offences have been committed,” a statement from the Metropolitan police said. 90 Day Fiance Stars: How Much Are They Paid?

90 Day Fiance  fans took notice when Danielle Mullins Jbali started begging them for cash . They wondered why a reality star would have to crowdfund $5,000. Aren't they normally loaded? Not so much when it comes to  90 Day Fiance , unfortunately. As we previously reported and as  RadarOnline  has confirmed, most of the stars are only paid a little. And it turns out that some of the people you see appear on the TLC series aren't paid at all for their trouble. If you've wondered why these stars create GoFundMe accounts, charge for videos, or work minimum wage jobs — this is why. 1. Danielle Mullins is asking fans for cash She needs to raise $5,000, she says, or risk losing the trailer that is currently her home. 2. Danielle has a lot of fans; it could work Despite her controversial role on the show — where some saw her and Mohamed Jbali as a pair of villains who deserve each other — she could raise the funds. 3. But why does she need the money? She says that it’s because she’s in negotiations with the landlord of her trailer park over past due rent, and that she may need to pay to have her home moved elsewhere if she’s evicted. 4. She promises that she hasn’t misspent her 90 Day Fiance funds “I bought my home, bought appliances, did some repairs to the home, paid for a STNA class, put a down payment on a newer car . It was not spent foolishly. I have not received a tv show check in a year,” Danielle wrote on social media. 5. So how much did she have to begin with? We don’t know — but she wasn’t raking in the dough in the way that Real Housewives or even Honey Boo-Boo’s family does. 6. Remember David and Annie? There was a creepy episode of 90 Day Fiance when David’s friend asked Annie for a “massage.” There’s more context but it only makes it worse. The fallout from that revealed a lot about how 90 Day Fiance operates. View Slideshow

Josh Duggar LOSES Lawsuit Against Cops Who Leaked His Files

When the world first learned that Josh Duggar molested five young girls and his parents helped him to cover up his crimes, it was widely assumed that everyone involved would fade into obscurity, never to be seen again. Instead, Jim Bob and Michelle quickly rebuilt their media empire, while Josh started filing lawsuits. Josh lashed out in many different directions after being exposed as a dangerous pervert, but he was particularly angry at the police department of Springdale, Arkansas. Josh felt the cops had violated his rights by releasing info involving his criminal record to reporters from Life & Style . The judge in his civil trial disagreed in hilarious fashion. The thing is, Josh’s lawsuit didn’t make any sense, and judges are usually pretty quick to pick up on that sort of thing. Josh claimed that the police broke the law by releasing the records of a minor, even though he was 27 at the time. He argued that he has the right to expect privacy — and later in the very same lawsuit, he claimed that the release of his records had damaged his ability to make money as a celebrity. Like we said, the judge wasn’t crazy about Josh’s interpretation of the law or, ya know, the fundamental laws of logic. “Josh Duggar notes that he has a ‘certain level of celebrity’ and that he engaged in public life,” the judge wrote in his ruling. “Yet he claims that by appearing in a popular reality television series, being a leader in national, political, and civic organizations, and engaging in public speaking, he somehow was conducting himself in a manner consistent with an expectation of privacy.” Today, the same judge laid another smackdown, and issued a public ruling declaring that the period of time in which Josh could have appealed the initial ruling has passed: “The time afforded by the Arkansas Rules of Civil Procedure for the Plaintiff to respond has passed and Plaintiff has made no responsive filing,” the dismissal documents read. “It is therefore, considered, ordered and adjudged, that this matter shall be dismissed with prejudice as to the re-filing of any claim, counterclaim, or filed herein.” So that’s it. Some hero cops exposed Josh Duggar for the child molester that he is, and they will not be punished for it. Looks like there’s occasionally some justice in this world, after all. Larissa Dos Santos Lima and Colt Johnson are (GASP!) Married!

We have an update on the domestic situation between Larissa Dos Santos Lima and Colt Johnson. But this one doesn’t involve any acts of alleged violence. Instead, it involves… … wedding bells! It’s surprising, but true! According to Clark County Court in Nevada, Johnson and Dos Santos Lima applied for their marriage license on June 11, 2018 and exchanged vows about two weeks later. Radar Online was the first website to report this shocking piece of news. Is it shocking that a couple who starred together on 90 Day Fiance actually went through with their marriage? Not necessarily, no. But Larissa was arrested on a charge of domestic violence on November 10. Here is her mugshot, which was snapped prior to her posting of $1,000 bail: Shortly before her arrest, Larissa strongly implied that there was a major disturbance between her and Johnson. She changed her Instagram handle to @helpmeimwithoutphone and posted a message that read: “HELP ME …HE TURNED OFF HIDE MY PHONE HELP ME HE WANTS TO CALL THE POLICE HELP ME.” From there, in a series of Instagram Story messages Colt shared his side of this unusual story with followers, writing; “Larissa was arrested this afternoon. She suffers from high anxiety and several depression. She over reacted to problems that do not exist.” In screen captures of posts that were later deleted, Colt added: “I proceeded to deactivate her phone to try to defuse the situation. “This escalated issues and matters became worse. She felt this action was a threat towards her and tried to reach out for help. Not long after her cry was posted, the police came and knocked down the front door. “They drew their guns at me and handcuffed me.” The arrest details are pretty ugly all around . “The police interviewed us but not long after they decided to arrest Larissa,” Colt’s message continued at the time, concluding: “No one was hurt and I did not press charges against my wife. “However it is policy in the state of Nevada that since we are in a domestic partnership, someone had to be arrested.” Larissa hails from Brazil and met Colt via social media. The duo met up in Mexico and Colt later proposed after mere days. According to court records obtained by E! News, this was Larissa’s second arrest for domestic violence, as she was previously taken into custody earlier this year … although those charges have since been dismissed. Her past, however, remains a big question mark for fans of this reality show. Fueling the speculative fire around Larissa and Colt is that their season of 90 Day Fiance is currently on the air. On the most recent episode, Dos Santos Lima convinced Colt to move out of the home he shared with his mom and her cats. In a preview for next week’s installment, she fights with Johnson’s extended family because they’re worried she’s using their loved for a green card. View Slideshow: 90 Day Fiance Stars: How Much Are They Paid? These episodes, of course, were filmed many months ago. Before the domestic violence arrest. Before the marriage. Before these two became one of the more notorious couples on television. Will their union last? Only time, readers, will tell.

Springing Into Action: Nelly Allegedly Comes To The Rescue During A Dust-Up On A Dubai Yacht

Source: Tim Mosenfelder / Getty Nelly Broke Up A Fight During A Dubai Yacht Party There was reportedly an incident in the desert last week when a fight broke out on a yacht full of rappers while they were sailing near Dubai–it was the result of a number of party go-ers eventually being questioned by the police about the situation. According to an exclusive report from Page Six , a brawl is said to have broken out on a party yacht. Guests in attendance at this shindig included rappers Future and Akon, with one unfortunate guest getting a bottle thrown right in their face. A “spy” told Page Six that Nelly  is the one who ended up springing into action once the violence started. “When Nelly heard the commotion, he went running in to help the person who was hit in the nose,” their source told the publication. The “Country Grammar” star along with others were said to be questioned by local police about the fight, but Nelly was in the clear following his heroism in the situation. The region was filled with so many big stars because of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 25. Post Malone, The Weeknd, French Montana, Tyga, Craig David, Guns N’ Roses and Sam Smith all performed concerts in the days surrounding the race, which ended up being won by Lewis Hamilton. The Weeknd’s show actually ended up being cut short when rowdy fans stormed the gates at a local arena. “The show had to stop early because it was so dangerous,” a source for Page Six recalled. It’s lucky for everyone involved that none of the stars in attendance got arrested following the alleged fight. Back in 2015, Future’s DJ, Esco, was arrested during the Grand Prix after being caught with marijuana at the airport. He ended up spending a whopping 56 days in jail in a harrowing experience that inspired Future’s album 56 Nights . “When they arrest you, they don’t have to say, ‘You have a right to this’ . . . There’s no judge, no jury. They assign you to a prosecutor, and the prosecutor can just do what he wants with you. They don’t have to tell you anything. They don’t even have to explain what the charge is.” At the airport after he was freed, he said, he bought headphones, ice cream and cookies, “and I was like, ‘I can’t believe this. Like, what just happened?’” Good on Nelly for breaking up a brawl that could have gone downhill quickly.

Should Chipotle Rehire Manager Who Wouldn’t Serve Group Of Young Black Men? Twitter Chimes In.

Read the rest here:

Source: Getty Images / Getty Images A Chipotle manager went viral over the past few days after she was seen, on video, refusing to serve a group of black customers. Now, after having fired the young woman, Chipotle is rethinking the decision. In the clips, the unidentified woman smiles at the young men while telling them “You gotta pay because you never have money when you come in here.” “Can a group of young well established African American get a bite to eat after a long workout session,” of the young men, Masud Ali, tweeted. Adding a total of four more clips to the thread on Twitter, Ali continued to call out the alleged bias with this series of tweets: “Note how this employee said “we’ve seen you guys come in twice” and later say he never saw us in his entire life….. calling the police on loyal customers is super disrespectful and uncalled for. This unacceptable and I don’t appreciate these employees making false accusations.” “I don’t like how she’s laughing like something is funny. So when a WHITE woman walks in you change your policy of “show us income before you get served” ????? So @Chipotle gonna sit here and tell me I can’t eat because they think I look like someone that stole from them before?? “Notice how they complete ignored our proof of income. @ChipotleTweets I need answers. We show you proof of income because we were getting hungry and still didn’t get serve. Makes me wonder if I was ever going to get served from the beginning.” “So we need to provide proof of income but she gets her meal for free? This is beyonddddd meeeeee.” After Chipotle caught wind of what happened, the company terminated the manager, saying “Regarding what happened at the St. Paul restaurant, the manager thought these gentlemen were the same customers from Tuesday night who weren’t able to pay for their meal. Regardless, this is not how we treat our customers and as a result, the manager has been terminated and the restaurant has been retrained to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again.” It didn’t take long for folks to come to the manager’s defense, calling Ali out for an alleged history of dining and dashing. Now, Chipotle seems to be thinking twice about kicking their employee to the curb. “Our actions were based on the facts known to us immediately after the incident, including video footage, social media posts and conversations with the customer, manager and our employees,” Chipotle chief communications officer Laurie Schalow  told Fox News  over the weekend. “We want to do the right thing, so after further investigation we will re-train and re-hire if the facts warrant it.” “We have spent the last few days reviewing the evidence available to us regarding the incident in St. Paul, MN. Based on our review, we have offered our manager her job back. While our normal protocol was not followed serving these customers, we publicly apologize to our manager for being put in this position. We will work to continue to ensure that we support a respectful workplace for our employees and our customers alike,” Chipotle reportedly continued. See Ali’s reported “dine and dash” tweets below and let us know what you think happened here. Plus, hit the flip to see what Twitter thinks. T he police always deny that they have a racial double standard, but an experiment at a Tennessee mall tells a different story. See Also: Cops Defend Unconstitutional Stop And Frisk Tactics As HBCU President Says He Was Racially Profiled A social media post from four white women on Saturday exposed the Memphis Police and the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office for racially profiling a group of African-American men, CBS News reported. This all stems from a video recorded by a former journalist that showed mall security and law enforcement officials stopping four young Black men for wearing hoodies at Wolfchase Galleria in Cordova on Nov. 3. They were escorted out of the mall with at least one of them in handcuffs. The women said they wore hoodies in the same mall without any incident. Racial profiling is a problem nationwide for Black people, but seldom is there any justice for violations. Recourse options are often limited, even when evidence suggests that discrimination occurred. Memphis residents unfortunately lack a functioning police oversight board to address their grievances in this case, Nashville activist Theeda Murphy told NewsOne. “There’s no way to do an independent investigation. In the aftermath of the mall incident, Memphis’ Black community is pushing to have the oversight board fully functioning,” said Murphy, who was involved in the successful effort on Election Day to pass an amendment to create a Community Oversight Board in Nashville that oversees the police. “If a security guard spotted us with our hoods up, they very politely asked us to take them down. One guard said it was because they need to be able to identify everybody’s faces. So we said, ‘Sure,’ took them down, walked on, and put the hoods back up a bit later. Repeat. No threats. Point made,” the Facebook post said. Here’s what happened to the Black men: Kevin McKenzie was inside the Wolfchase Galleria Mall in Memphis when he filmed a security guard at the mall detain a black teen for violating the mall’s dress code policy because he wore a hoodie. When McKenzie inquired further he too was detained. This is outrageous. pic.twitter.com/w0voiu8bth — Simar (@sahluwal) November 14, 2018 “At least a couple of those officers were Black, which shows you that it’s not a Black and white thing but a systemic thing,” Murphy said. “There’s an issue with policing and how officers are trained, how officers see who is a threat and who isn’t. It doesn’t matter if the officers are Black or white because they all get the same training.” SEE ALSO: Andrew Gillum Fires Back At Wannabe Dictator Donald Trump Stacey Abrams Campaign Files Federal Lawsuit For Every Vote To Be Counted [ione_media_gallery src=”https://newsone.com” id=”3836445″ overlay=”true”]
