Exclusive: Kodak Black Complains Prosecutors Have Yet To Charge Him; Wants Out Of Jail

“Tunnel Vision” Rapper Jailed Following Last Month’s Gun & Drug Bust Kodak Black  is griping that the state is taking its sweet time to indict him after his gun and drug bust last month. The Florida rapper’s lawyer filed court docs Friday asking a judge for a special hearing to raise the possibility of springing him from lockup, after prosecutors let the three week window to formally charge him expire. Kodak Black – whose real name is Dieuson Octave – has been held without bail since his arrest Jan. 18. He is facing charges of gun possession, drug possession and child neglect after a police raid on his home, where cops found weed and a stolen gun – all in the presence of a toddler, according to the police report. He was ordered held without bail. Bradford Cohen, Kodak Black’s lawyer, said in court papers that the rapper has now languished in jail for 22 days without being formally charged, which entitles him to a “preliminary adversary hearing” where he can raise the issue of whether there’s enough evidence to keep him behind bars. The judge has not yet ruled on Kodak’s request. We reached out to Cohen for comment. Continue reading

Kate Upton Accuses Guess Co-Founder Paul Marciano of Sexual Misconduct

Kate Upton has accused the man behind fashion brand Guess of treating women in an inappropriate manner. On Wednesday morning, the world famous model took to Twitter in order to accuse chief creative officer and former co-CEO Paul Marciano of sexual harassment. Marciano has been a major influence at Guess for years and remains a prominent player in its everyday operations. Much to the chagrin of Upton, as she writes below: “It’s disappointing that such an iconic women’s brand @GUESS is still empowering Paul Marciano as their creative director.” The newlywed ended the tweet with a potentially telling hashtag, implying that she was a victim of Marciano’s unacceptable behavior by Tweeting: #metoo. This hashtag, of course, is commonly used these days by women who have been the victims of sexual harassment or misconduct. While it’s often employed by females in the entertainment industry (after acres Alyssa Milano made it popular once again several months ago), many women around social media in general have also joined the movement. The impressive viral movement aims to shed light on years and years of abuse, intimidation, harassment and assault that have been covered up by both Hollywood and the media. Back to Upton, however: Minutes after sending her initial message, Upton shared the same  Tweet on Instagram, along with the caption: “He shouldn’t be allowed to use his power in the industry to sexually and emotionally harass women #metoo.” Justin Verlander, the Houston Astros starting pitcher who Upton married in November , also shared his wife’s allegation on Twitter. Upton is arguably the most famous supermodel in the world. She became a celebrity spokesmodel for Guess in 2011, following in the footsteps of such major names as the following: Claudia Schiffer and Cindy Crawford. Most recent faces of Guess include Gigi Hadid, Hailey Baldwin, Camila Cabello and Jennifer Lopez. Marciano, meanwhile, co-founded the fashion company in 1981 and has served as its executive chairman and chief creative officer since August 2015. He stepped down that year from his position as the brand’s chief executive officer, but, if anything, has been more involved in a daily basis ever since making this transition. Guess has yet to respond to Upton’s claims. And Upton has not provided any further detail regarding what Marciano has done to merit said claims. We’ll update this story as more news when/if it breaks. UPDATE : Marciano says Upton may just be bitter that she is no longer employed by Guess and adds: “If she has a claim, there’s one place to tell the truth and that’s in court or to the police.” View Slideshow: #MeToo: Stars Share Stories of Sexual Harassment, Assault

Simpson was ordered to pay Goldman $33.5 million, which has ballooned to more than $70 million. This latest attempt to collect stemmed from the ex-football star selling autographs after his prison release in October for armed robbery. The money he earned from the autograph sales went to pay off legal bills, one of Simpson’s lawyers told the court. The court denied Goldman’s request to collect money from the autograph sale because he could not identify who paid Simpson. One of Goldman’s lawyers has described Simpson’s legal team as masterful at protecting his assets from collection. The lion’s share of The Juice’s remaining wealth is in pension funds that Goldman cannot touch. The lawyer also speculated that Simpson’s team has set up offshore accounts to hide money. However, over the two decades since the judgment, Goldman seized some of Simpson’s money, such as royalties from video games and the rights to a ghostwritten book. Nicole Eggert Accuses Scott Baio of Sexual Assault

Nicole Eggert has leveled a serious allegation against Scott Baio. The former Baywatch actress, who appeared for years opposite Baio on the sitcom Charles in Charles, wrote on Twitter yesterday that the actor molested her back when she was a teenager, Commenting on a Tweet that referred to Baio as a staunch Donald Trump supporter, Eggert penned the following on Saturday afternoon: “Ask [Scott Baio] what happened in his garage at his house when I was a minor. Creep.” It obviously doesn’t lend credence to her accusation necessarily, but she had recently linked to Halsey’s viral speech at the Women’s March from last weekend and also Tweeted: “Always stand in ur truth it gives u strength.” In a series of Tweets, she went on to detail how Baio digitally penetrated her, starting at the age of 14. In a subsequent response to Twitter followers, Eggert said she was a “molested child” who “covered up” the alleged abuse for years, writing that she was “14, 15, 16 and 17” when these incidents occurred. How did Baio fight back? Initially by referring to Eggert’s claims as “100% lies” and then by sharing a 16-minute video on Facebook. “I remember her calling me and asking me to come over and coming in my house one time, and seducing me,” Baio says into the camera at one point in this video, adding: “[For] any normal heterosexual, red-blooded American guy, the outcome would have been the same.” Baio says this intercourse was consensual and that Eggert was of legal age at the time. He also played an audio recording of an interview Eggert gave to TheDirty.com, in which she described losing her virginity to Baio “way after” “Charles in Charge” was done. “It was years later,” Eggert can be heard saying. Eggert previous accused Baio of sexually abusing her as a minor in 2012. “I kept my mouth shut, because usually when false claims in the past have been made about me they just go away,” Baio said late Saturday. “But for some reason she will not let this one go away.” He proceeds to basically challenge Eggert to “go to the police” if she really has a case, as opposed to airing dirty (in his mind, bitter ) laundry on social media. Baio, who has made headlines of late for his support of President Trump , said the Eggert’s accusations undermine real victims with “legitimate claims.” In his view: “The problem with almost all he said-she said cases is they’re he said-she said. Now, go prove it or disprove it,” he says toward the end of his reply. “The real problem with this is people with legitimate claims aren’t taken seriously – and that’s too bad.” Nicole Eggert and Scott Baio on Charles in Charge. Eggert and Baio costarred on the aforementioned sitcom from 1984 to 1990. On the series, Baio portrayed college student Charles, who looked after a group of children including Eggert’s character, Jamie. We’ll update this story as more news breaks. Eric Garner’s Mother Gwen Says She Can’t Forgive Cops After Son’s Death

New Series “Two Sides” Examines The Lives & Legacies Of Those Who Died In Police Custody & Sparked Social Change The mother of Eric Garner said she still wrestles with forgiving the police officers who killed her son three years ago. “I pray every night to forgive,” Gwen Carr said of her son Eric Garner’s death. “Because you have to forgive for yourself. But when someone takes your child away, it’s so hard. I pray to God every night to forgive me because I haven’t forgiven them.” Garner died in the midst of an arrest in 2014, and his final words, “I can’t breathe,” ignited protests around the world. Carr said the lack of accountability in the death of Garner, a married father, makes it even worse. “Maybe in time when justice comes,” she said, “I will have a better sense of forgiveness in my heart. Because there has been no justice.” Garner’s life, death and the movement it sparked is one of the subjects of “Two Sides,” a new docu-series from TV One that examines four cases – Eric Garner, John Crawford, Sandra Bland and Ezell Ford – that became symbols in the social justice fight. Instead of reenactments, the series uses actual footage from the incidents and goes in-depth with the people who were involved. Oscar winner Viola Davis is one of the series’ executive producers, and her producing partner Lemuel Plummer said his goal for “Two Sides” was to “bridge the gap between black and blue.” “Two Sides” courtesy of TV One “We’re not taking a biased approach,” Plummer said, “We’re hearing from all sides. We want the audience walking away understanding why this is happening, and why police officers end up making these decisions.” Shante Needham, the sister of Sandra Bland, agreed with Carr, and said every day has been a struggle since losing her sibling, especially when she sees more cases of people dying at the hands of police officers. “Well of course, we have to forgive if we say we are children of God,” Needham said. “But it’s the act of forgetting. I still ask three years later, ‘Why?’ Why did they do this to my sister?” Needham added that she hoped viewers would see the show as a call to action. “When you see something, speak up,” she said. “Stop letting things go under the rug…so our kids and grandkids don’t have to come up in the manner we have.” “Two Sides” will air Jan. 22 on TV One.
