Getty Images A 15-Year-Old Got Caught Selling Drugs From Her Bedroom A 15-year-old girl in Massachusetts is said to have sold drugs to customers from her bedroom window, and the police allege it was all with her mother’s blessing. Investigators in the rural town say they discovered not just marijuana, but cocaine, the opioid fentanyl, and two unlicensed handguns with ammunition. Beside the dangerous drug paraphernalia, the police also seized just over $1,000 in cash, believed to have been obtained by the teenager selling drugs. The mother, Heather Vittorioso, 37, was arrested and charged with a number of crimes that include possession of a firearm without a license, unlicensed possession of ammunition, reckless endangerment to a child, drug possession, cocaine trafficking, and conspiracy to violate drugs laws. The 15-year-old girl faces a number of charges in juvenile court. The mother told detectives that she was indeed aware that her daughter was selling weed, but insisted that she knew nothing about the other narcotics they recovered. Their neighbors snitched and said that they heard people walking up the steps of the multi-family home at all hours of the night. It looks like encounters with the police run in the family, the 15-year-old’s father was arrested just back in September and charged with attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault in connection with a stabbing.
T he Bartow County and Georgia NAACP branches launched a civil rights investigation on Wednesday into alleged police violations in the arrest of 70 people at a house party in Cartersville, Georgia. The teens and young adults now have arrest records on the charge of allegedly possessing less than 1 ounce of marijuana. Griggs , chair of the Georgia NAACP Criminal Justice Committee. Police said they found less than an ounce of marijuana at a house party Saturday night & since no one claimed it, they arrested 70ppl for it. Some just got out today. Story at 5pm on Ch2 pic.twitter.com/OA2xQFdGX3 — Tyisha Fernandes (@TyishaWSB) January 2, 2018 The mass arrest began with Cartersville police officers responding to a 911 call about a possible gunshot around 2 a.m. on Sunday, WSBTV reported. Cops entered the home without a warrant after smelling marijuana in the front yard, a witness told the news outlet. When no one admitted to ownership of the small amount of the drug they discovered, the police arrested everyone. The police later found two stolen guns and other drugs after obtaining a warrant, the police department stated. The NAACP suspects that the police may have conducted an unlawful search of individuals and the property, which was rented for the party. All of those arrested could not have possessed the same small amount of marijuana, the organization stated. Considering the “changing cultural sentiment” about weed, a simple citation and release would have been more appropriate than arrests. “This is classic police harassment and intimidation,” tweeted Kristen Clarke , president and executive director of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. Many of the partygoers complained about mistreatment from the police, including getting tied up with zip ties and threatened with tasers. Many of them also spent multiple days in jail. A GoFundMe campaign to help with bail and legal fees seeks to raise $15,000. They’ve been dubbed the “Cartersville 70,” which connects them to the long list of Black bodies unjustly arrested, such as the Central Park 5. The campaign noted that a majority of those arrest were college students, military members home for the holidays and hardworking people who could lose their job. A historic election in Charlottesville has ended with the victory of an African-American woman. The Virginia city named native Nikuyah Walker as its new leader Tuesday night months after white nationalist rallies plunged the area into deadly chaos, The Associated Press reported. Charlottesville City Council members approved Walker’s appointment by a 4-1 vote. Walker, an outspoken critic of local leaders’ response to the “Unite the Right” rally who was sworn into office as a council member on December 29, has a positive outlook on the new position, largely a part-time job presiding over council meetings. The mom of three, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Virginia Commonwealth University, is ready for the new role. “I never looked at it as, I’m above anyone else … there are just a few additional duties and whatever they are I will figure them out,” Walker, the first independent candidate elected to the council since 1948, said. She also took to Twitter after her win: “We made history last night and then we got to work. # MayorNikuyahWalker # Charlottesville.” We made history last night and then we got to work. #MayorNikuyahWalker #Charlottesville pic.twitter.com/CJIpoPKFMz — Mayor Nikuyah Walker (@NikuyahWalkerCC) January 3, 2018 Walker, who replaced mayor Mike Signer after calling for his resignation, was one of two new council members elected in November. Heather Hill was selected for vice mayor Tuesday night, according to NBC 29 . The newly elected mayor, who works for Charlottesville Parks and Recreation as well as is a social and racial justice advocate with nonprofit experience, wants to change how City Council meetings are run. Walker spoke about changing the amount of time people are allowed to speak and ensuring everyone is heard during those meetings. She was also candid about the job of mayor being a challenge. She learned a lot from running a campaign, she said, and vowed to keep going and put people first, C-Ville reported. (Photo by: Nathan Congleton/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images) Megyn Kelly Interviews Bad Cop And Wrongfully Convicted Black Man He Framed About Their Unlikely Friendship Dang, did we have it wrong about Megyn Kelly ? Or nah? This week, for a special segment on forgiveness Megyn Kelly sat down with a white former police officer and one of the black men he framed, resulting in a ten-year sentence for drug dealing. Watch below: Here are the basics: Andrew Collins started falsifying warrants and police reports while working at the Benton Harbor Police Department. Three years later, while on the job, Collins mistakenly accused Jameel McGee of dealing drugs. Collins tailored police report falsely stating McGee was in possession of drugs and the man was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in jail. Three years into his sentence, McGee discovered Collins had been arrested. Collins told Kelly that he was “called to” reconcile with McGee after coincidentally meeting him in a park. “How did you get past the point of ‘Oh, no,’ to now they call each other brothers?” Kelly asked McGee. McGee suggested God had brought the two men together: “I know it wasn’t my doing.” “It was the Lord,” Kelly insisted. “It took years to get to this point,” McGee noted. Collins said that he had also been able to forgive himself after years of being a dirty cop. “Because I can’t walk through what God has for me if I’m going to keep myself in a prison of my past,” Collins opined. “And we also realized that God saved this story for a very unique time in our country. You know, you see a black man who was innocent, completely innocent, framed by a white police officer.” In 2011, after finally forming a friendship, Collins and McGee wrote their book, Convicted: A Crooked Cop, An Innocent Man And An Unlikely Journey of Forgiveness. Does this interview help change your opinion about Megyn Kelly?

Ho, Ho, Ho? For Luann de Lesseps this holiday season, it’s more like the following: No, No, No. The long-time Real Housewives of New York City cast member was arrested early Sunday morning in Palm Beach, Florida and charged with a number of crimes. According to TMZ, E! News and other reliable sources, de Lesseps was taken into custody for being drunk and disorderly… … and also for allegedly assaulting an officer of the law! YIKES! Insiders tell TMZ that Luann has been charged with five crimes, four of which are FELONIES: – Battery on a law enforcement officer. – Resisting arrest with violence. – Two counts of corruption by threat. The incident between the reality star and the police took place around 1:25 a.m. local time. An assistant state’s attorney tells The Palm Beach Post that de Lesseps reportedly slammed a door and kicked at least one police officer, telling people around her: “I’m going to kill you all.” She was then placed under arrest. After being taken to Palm Beach County Jail, the Bravo personality was released without bond. It remains unclear what prompted the altercation; aside from an abundance of alcohol, that is. The aforementioned publication also writes that during her court appearance today, Judge Ted Booras suggested she hire a defense attorney due to the serious nature of these charges. “Don’t say anything,” he told the former countess, according to the newspaper. The arrest took place nearly a year after the Bravo star married Tom D’Agostino Jr. in Palm Beach on New Year’s Eve. They announced their divorce a mere seven months later amid rumors of D’Agostino’s infidelity. For those unaware, Luann has a “Countess” title because she was married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps until their divorce in 2009. She is due back in court on January 25. Known as a singer, actress, model and author, Luann de Lesseps debuted on The Real Housewives of New York City in 2008. She has been a regular ever since. No word from anyone in her camp or anyone else associated with the series in the wake of this arrest. Not yet anyway. We’ll update this story with more details as news breaks.
