Black Merit Scholar Removed From Graduation For Wearing Kente Cloth A gifted Black teen was forcibly removed from his California high school graduation by police for refusing to remove his traditional African kente cloth according to NY Daily News : Nyree Holmes, 18, was ejected from the ceremony as he walked off the stage on Tuesday at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento. The graduating Cosumnes Oaks High School senior had been urged to discard the item of clothing several times, and was told police would stop him, if it came to that. “I go through shaking all the hands and smiling feeling as if I won,” Holmes wrote Tuesday on Twitter, according to the Atlanta Black Star. “Then when I get to the stairs I see three sheriffs at the bottom of the stairs. They tell me to leave with them and I said, ‘sure guys let’s go.’” After he was booted, Holmes said he and his father tried to retrieve the teen’s diploma, but school officials refused to give it up. But with the help of a black security guard, Holmes was able to get in “through the exit” and claim his diploma, he wrote on Twitter. Holmes felt the need to wear the kente cloth because as a “descendant of slaves, I have no firm connection to my roots in Africa,” he told the ABS. Texas Teens Arrested For Spraying Whites Only All Over Rival School’s Fountains Texas Police have arrested five teens for spray painting racist and transphobic graffiti on several buildings at a rival high school as part of a “senior prank” last week according to WFAA reoirts: Christian Joeckel, Ryan Westbrook, Hayden Honolka, Cameron Bodenstab, and Ethan Sigmond were arrested after an investigation into racist, vulgar and anti-transgender graffiti was conducted on the school’s athletic facilities and restrooms. Joekel, Westbrook, and Honolka are all 17 years old; Bodenstab and Sigmond are 18. All are students at Arlington High, a rival school. According to arrest warrant affidavits, the graffiti included the phrase “whites only” spray painted above a water fountain and “trans only” defacing a men’s bathroom door. Vulgar language not appropriate for publication was painted on athletics banners and trash cans near the football stadium, according to an affidavit. Westbrook said the vandalism was part of a “senior prank,” according to an affidavit. He admitted to defacing a jungle gym with several markings, including the words “payback for the parking lot” and “muck f*** fartin martin.” “Anytime you have hateful messages, [it’s] very concerning,” Cook said. “We’re going to look at that to know who did this [and] what is the motivation?” Discuss. Honey Marshall set up a GoFundMe account on behalf of her 22-year-old sister Symone, who passed away last week leaving her 3-year-old daughter without a mother: On April 26th, 2016, Symone Marshall was ran off the highway by a road rage filled man causing her vehicle to flip over three times and end up in a ditch. When police came to the scene, instead of being taken to a hospital, Symone was held in police custody for two weeks with NO medical attention for not possessing a valid drivers license. Police refused to take her to a hospital to be evaluated by professional doctors, (even with her sister, Honey Marshall calling and requesting for them to do so) which resulted in her dying in jail two weeks later on May 10th, 2016 from a blood clot in her lung. Symone was a loving sister, friend and mother. She didn’t deserve to be held in jail like a criminal and lose her life. This act of careless negligence on behalf of this Texas Jail cost Symone her life at only 22 years old. She leaves behind a precious 3 year old daughter that loved her mommy more than anything in this world and Symone loved her the same. We are seeking 3 things to help us: media attention on this issue, justice for the two weeks of gross negligence that resulted in her death, and donations toward giving Symone a beautiful funeral. If they would have this, her death could have been prevented and my sister would still be here. My heart hurts so bad. She was my best friend. If Tyga had a theme song of the week, it might be NWA's “F**k the Police.” The rapper is fired up at the LAPD for searching the SUV he was traveling in Thursday night. The “Rack City” lyricist posted a pic and a video to Snapchat of the incident, calling the cops “the real crooks.” In the video (below), officers are seen searching the SUV as Tyga snaps. Police told TMZ that Tyga's team contains some known gang members, so they sent officers to investigate when they heard the rapper had a show in Hollywood. Unfortunately for the po-po, the only thing they found was a gun that belonged to a bodyguard, which was licensed in a different state. The weapon was not loaded and no other violations were discovered, so the crew was off the hook. Police had told Tyga he was not under investigation and could leave, but he opted to stick around to document the incident. The Instagram account @tygasnaps, which reposts Tyga's Snapchats, posted the video he recorded of the search and included a caption attributed to the rapper: “TMZ got the [police emoji] believing everything they read to looking for [gun emoji] S M H ” -@kinggoldchains” This isn't the first time this month Tyga has lashed out at TMZ. Earlier this month, the site broke the news that Tyga's Lamboghini was about to get repossessed for failure to make payments, but he called the story bunk. “I sold my lambo aventador & Bentley mulsanne over a year ago. Prince was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Minnesota home yesterday morning at age 57, and the world has been pondering the reason for the star’s death since the news broke. The Carver County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference today and divulged new details surrounding the singer’s untimely demise. “The information we have for now is he was last seen at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night,” Sheriff Olson told reporters. “Staff members at Paisley Park were unable to locate Prince yesterday, and went to check on him.” He added that police responded to the 911 emergency call at 9:43 a.m. Prince was pronounced dead 24 minutes later, at 10:07 a.m. View Slideshow: Prince: Stars React to the Death of Iconic Singer While the sheriff said the case was only 29 hours old and continuing to evolve, he said there was “no reason to believe this was a suicide.” He also revealed that there were “no obvious signs of trauma” on the body, and that Prince was wearing pants and a shirt when he was found. Earlier today, the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office completed an autopsy on Prince’s body, which was later released to his family. They indicated that results of the toxicology scan could take weeks, and they will continue to investigate. This morning, TMZ reported that six days before his death, Prince was treated for an overdose of the prescription pain killer Percoset , which he was said to be taking for hip pain. Man Arrested For Sneaking Soda Into Fast Food Water Cup We’ve all done it at least once and you KNOW it’s wrong when you do …but we’ve never heard of anyone calling the law over something so trivial. An 18-year-old boy has been arrested in Arkansas after filling a water cup with fountain soda instead at a local McDonald’s . Via 40/29 : Cody Morris, 18, was arrested Monday for putting soda inside a water cup at a Springdale McDonald’s, refusing to return the soda, according to the police report sent to 40/29 News. The manager told police he tried to stop the suspects from driving away, but he was hit by their car, according to the report. The manager for the McDonald’s at 520 S. Thompson St. called police Monday to report a robbery, according to the report. The manager told police 3 people went through the drive thru and asked for 3 large waters. Those 3 parked, went into the restaurant, dumped out the water and then filled the cups with soda, the manager told police. The manager asked the 3 people to return the soda. Two of them did, but one did not, the manager told police. Then, the manager stood behind the suspect’s car and tried to stop them from leaving, according to the report, but the car reversed and hit the manager. The manager tried to get the keys out of the ignition and was hit on the hand and then by the vehicle again, the manager told police. Okay…who was this manager playing captain save-a-soda? Of course, the boys definitely should not have pulled something so stupid. BUT was the $1.25 for the carbonated drink serious enough for this person to go running after them, block their “getaway car” and try to take the keys out of the ignition???

Student Dies After High School Fight Over A Boy A teenage girl has died after getting jumped by several girls in her class over a juvenile argument. A fight broke out between the girl and another student in their high school bathroom before classes commenced for the day…eventually resulting in the girl’s passing after other girls jumped in and banged her head on the hard sink. Via MailOnline : A 16-year-old girl died after getting into a fight with another girl over a boy at a school in Delaware. Officials have not named the girl, but friends and sources close to the investigation identified her as Amy Inita Joyner-Francis, according to The News-Journal. Joyner-Francis was jumped by a gang of bullies in her school’s bathroom Thursday morning. Officials said the fight broke out around 8.15am before classes at Howard High School of Technology, a vocational school in Wilmington, Delaware. Students who witnessed the deadly scuffle said that the 16-year-old and another girl started fighting in one of the women’s bathrooms over a boy, when a gang of other girls jumped the victim. At one point, someone banged her head on a sink, according to witnesses who spoke with 6ABC. Kaya Wilson was in a stall when the fight broke out and spoke with the local news station after leaving school. ‘She was fighting a girl, and then that’s when all these other girls started banking her -like jumping her – and she hit her head on the sink,’ Wilson said. The victim was flown to A.I. DuPont Children’s Hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.The cause of death has not been confirmed News media outlets quoted Police Chief Bobby Cummings as saying that two female students were taken to police headquarters for questioning. Absolutely ridiculous! We know kids fight…this is something they have done since school was invented. But it’s nothing short of a tragedy and a shame that this young girl had to lose her life over something they all probably would have forgotten about in a month if things hadn’t gone so far… Truly sad.
