My name is Marta and I’m a Polish belieber. I was going to Justin’s concert in Berlin on March 31, 2013 and I never thought that I’m going to meet him. From the beginning, my best friend (@YoSwaggyBieber) and I wanted to do something “special” for the concert so we made a big easter egg and wrote on it “Happy Easter JUSTIN and BIEBER TEAM.” We weren’t expecting much – we just wanted anyone to notice us or whatever. When we arrived to Berlin, we brought it along with us and went to the hotel where Justin was supposed to be, but he wasn’t here. We were walking through the city for 2 hours! We were tired and sad because we were with this big egg the whole time. We called my best friend’s dad to come and take us to the arena. When we arrived we were looking for girls with Polish flags and we saw a group of Polish beliebers so we went to them. We were singing, dancing, taking photos, talking for like 2 hours. One girl told us that some Polish beliebers wanted to sneak into the M&G so we went with girls to just watch them, and they failed. My best friend and I met another Polish belieber named Kamila. We were talking and Ola (my best friend) proposed us to go to the car for warmth because the outside was very cold. When we were sitting in the car we told Kamila our story with this egg and everything, and she told us to take the egg outside one more time and go with it to the front of doors where were M&G were. So we did what she suggested and were standing with our big egg, almost everybody was looking at us. Then suddenly Ola started to cry because she (like me and Kamila) wanted to meet Justin so badly. We noticed that Justin’s bodyguards were talking, probably about us. A minute later we saw that one of them was coming to the doors, my heart was beating so fast, tears came to my eyes. He opened the door and told us to come in, we were about to scream! He told us to calm down and asked us, “Do you want to meet Justin?” We screamed, “YES! YES!!!” and then he gave us orange wristbands! We were calling our friends and family telling them that we were about to meet Justin. A couple minutes later we saw Kenny, we were waving to him and shouting his name. He saw us, read the inscription on our egg, smiled and waved back, I couldn’t believe what was happening. When it was our turn to meet him we asked, “Can we take this egg with us?” and then somebody told, “Yes,” I think it was Kenny. Finally we saw Justin Bieber, not as a picture or at video. I remember only taking picture and when one guy wanted to push me away and I thought he wanted to hug me so I hugged him haha. My name is Miriam, I’m 15 years old and I’m from Germany. I never thought one day I’d be able to write my own Bieber experience but it’s happening right now. On April 3rd I went to Believe Tour in Frankfurt, Germany and I already started the countdown 10 days before the day of the concert. I got more excited day by day and on April 2nd I kinda had a mental breakdown because I realized I was going to see my idol. The boy I’ve been supporting from 2009. My world. My hero. My life. Justin Drew Bieber. I randomly decided to check my email in the morning on April 2nd when I received a congratulations message from Bieberfever! I quickly realized I was going to meet Justin the next day. I started crying, screaming and started to run through our house. I even went outside and screamed. I decided to take my best friend Chiara (@outoftownsmg) with me and immediately called her when I got the mail. She cried with me. On April 3rd, the day of concert, I took some medicine because I was shaking the whole time and couldn’t eat or drink anything. When we arrived at the arena in Frankfurt I finally met Chiara for the first time and all my other friends from Twitter. It was amazing already. We finally got inside with the meet and greet line. I had already spotted Justin and started shaking and had to cover my mouth so I wouldn’t scream or cry. Then it was time to meet him! We went in the room and there he was. He looks like a doll but just so perfect. I stood in front of him and forgot everything around me. I didn’t see the bodyguards, the cameras, the other people inside the room. It was just Justin and me. I didn’t cry which made me proud because I didn’t want to cry in front of him. I looked at him and wanted to hug him but we weren’t allowed to so I held my hand to him and he took my hand and when I said, “Oh my God I love you so much,” he looked directly into my eyes, smiled and said, “Aw you’re so cute. I love you too.” I still can’t get over the fact that I held onto his arm and touched his muscles. We left and as soon as we went out of the room I started crying like never before. I was in complete shock and realized I really met my idol. My dad photoshopped my picture with him because I should’ve been standing next to him but another girl in my group of six was. I’m more than thankful for that day and I want to thank the Bieberfever team for making my dream come true. My name is Karolina, I’m 17 years old and from Poland. When it was announced that Justin would come to Poland for his Believe Tour I was shocked. It was only 50 days til the concert so I thought it was a joke. I couldn’t believe it until they said that tickets would be on sale soon. I had to meet him and see him perform for the first time, I had been waiting for this moment for 4 years! I didn’t have enough money for meet and greet so I called my mum, dad, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and the whole family gave me some money for the ticket. It was so amazing that they wanted me to be happy. I tried to get meet and greets online but my reservation was cancelled after I had paid! Then my mum called me while I was at school, and she told me that the meet and greet had actually went through! I was so happy and started crying. I started counting the days until THE BIG DAY. I was in Lodz at about 10 a.m., and after I left my luggage I went to Justin’s hotel with my friends. His hotel was 3 minutes away from mine. The beliebers were so loud and everyone was singing. Later we went to the Atlas Arena. Around 5 p.m. the security let us inside the arena, checked our bags and we got our tickets. I started talking to someone from Justin’s crew and I told him that I had seen Bruce and Diane. He said I was lucky, and he gave me Dan Kanter’s guitar pick too. Suddenly the security let us into a small room. Everything was so fast, I went inside and I looked at Justin. He looked so amazing, but a little bit sad. Justin said, “Hi. Come on!” I was super excited! I was shaking! He then said something to me and my heart went crazy. I couldn’t believe it. He put his arm on mine, and before I could even realize it, the photo had been taken. I wanted to tell him how much he meant to me and that I was thankful for everything, but all I could say was, “I love you Justin.” The support crew was playing loudly, so he didn’t hear me and he asked, “What?” but the security took me out of the room before I had a chance to respond. Before the meet & greet I had left him a letter. This was all just a short moment but it was the best moment of my life! I then went into the diamond circle where my friend was waiting for me. We were in the first row, counting the minutes and screaming for Justin. Then the show started and Justin came flying onto the stage. He started singing and he looked into my eyes! I was paralyzed. After 3 songs, he came to my row and took my hand, and he looked into my eyes once again! At the end of the show, he said that Polish beliebers know what “never say never” means because we had been waiting for him for so long. Justin was just so amazing, beautiful, perfect and there are no words that could describe how incredible he is. I hope Justin liked Poland and that he will come back to us soon. Polish beliebers tried to make this show unforgettable to him. I thank God, my family (especially my mum) and Justin for letting me be there. Thank you, Justin. You’ve changed my life. Unknown hackers besieged Twitter this week and may have gained passwords and personal information of up to 250,000 users during the cyber-attack. Twitter confirmed it was hacked in a blog post, saying that the passwords were encrypted and that it already reset them as a “precautionary measure.” The social network is “in the process” of notifying affected users. Twitter noted recent revelations of cyber attacks against the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal , but did not elaborate on the origin or methodology of the attacks. “This attack was not the work of amateurs, and we do not believe it was an isolated incident,” Twitter said on its website, following the hacking. “The attackers were extremely sophisticated, and we believe that other companies and organizations have also been recently similarly attacked.” Twitter, which has 200 million active monthly users, said it was working with government and federal law enforcement officials to track down the attackers. The company did not specifically link the attacks to China in the blog post, in contrast to the Times and Journal , which both said the hackers originated in China. Twitter, known for its 140-character messages, could not speculate on the origin of the attacks as its investigation was ongoing, said spokesman Jim Prosser. “There is no evidence now that would indicate passwords were compromised,” said Prosser. Whoever was responsible and why, it’s a trend that isn’t going away anytime soon. Last month, U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano warned against the imminent risk of a 9/11-level cyber attack.
A Japanese pop star shaved her head and offered a filmed apology after breaking her management firm’s rules by spending a night with her boyfriend. The sobbing Minami Minegishi, 20, has been seen by millions on YouTube after she failed to abide by her handlers’ cardinal rule – NO DATING. Pop Star Shaves Head Minegishi’s bizarre mea culpa came after a gossip publication ran photos of her leaving the apartment of her boyfriend, Alan Shirahama, a boy band dancer. In the video on the official site of her band, AKB48, she said she made the decision to shave her head to show contrition for “thoughtless and immature” actions. Head shaving is a traditional form of showing contrition in Japan. However, many fans have defended her, saying she is entitled to a normal life. “I don’t believe just doing this means I can be forgiven for what I did, but the first thing I thought was that I don’t want to quit AKB48,” she said. Crying in shame, she said, “If it is possible, I wish from the bottom of my heart to stay in the band. Everything I did is entirely my fault. I am so sorry.” Minegishi is one of the original members of the popular girl band, AKB48. They portray an image of cuteness known as “kawaii” throughout Japan and Asia. The condition for being part of such a successful act is that the girls must not date boys, so as not to shatter their fans’ illusions of their innocence. AKB48’s management office said that Minami Minegishi had been demoted to a trainee team as punishment “for causing a nuisance to the fans”. But some call it unfair that the star felt she should resort to a traditional act of contrition when the only rules she had broken were those of her band’s. Despite her apparent sincerity, some fans and commentators say that Minegishi went too far with her public apology, and that it was unnecessary. “What’s the point of this public execution show? In a surprising and unsettling statement, Burger King admits to horse meat possibly tainting burgers sold in both the U.K. and Ireland recently. It’s just the latest chapter in an ongoing scandal in the two nations involving beef burger patties allegedly containing meat from horses and pigs. It’s suspected that a meat distributor in Poland, which works with Burger King and other supermarket chains, used meats other than beef as filler in cheap burgers. Burger King had originally stressed, in the face of the scandal, that its patties are made with 100 percent beef, a claim that was apparently disproved. However, BK later dropped Silvercrest, the food processing plant that received meat from the Polish distributor, all but confirming the horse meat scandal. The Guardian has a statement from Burger King stating: “Our independent DNA test results on product taken from restaurants were negative for any equine DNA. “However, four samples recently taken from the Silvercrest plant have shown the presence of very small trace levels of equine DNA.” “Within the last 36 hours, we have established that Silvercrest used a small percentage of beef imported from a non-approved supplier in Poland.” “They promised to deliver 100% British and Irish beef patties and have not done so. This is a clear violation of our specifications, and we have terminated our relationship with them.” In other words, there is no evidence proving that Burger King ever served horsemeat, but the company admits that some of its locations may have inadvertently done so. Additionally, UK officials have stressed that the horsemeat-tainted burgers do not pose a health risk to consumers, but still, not exactly positive PR. When you go to BK, you’re probably not craving a horse burger. Kinda makes you wanna stay home and just make a king ranch chicken recipe instead.
