True Or False: Did Clint Eastwood Cut Bey-Bey From His Remake Of “A Star Is Born” Because She Supports President Obama??

Maybe Bey holding a fundraiser for “Invisible Chair” last week has something to do with this? For the past year or so Beyonce’s name has been attached to the Clint Eastwood remake of “A Star is Born” but now Mr. Eastwood doesn’t sound so sure… At the premier of his latest film, “Trouble with the Curve,” a reporter asked Clint Eastwood about Beyonce starring in his next film and Mr. Eastwood sounded a little unsure: “We were talking to Bradley Cooper,” he said. “We’ve talked to several people, and we probably won’t address that one till next year. Early next year.” Eastwood says it’s not even confirmed that Beyoncé, who’s long been attached to the project, will be a part of the remake. “She’s great,” he smiled. “I don’t know if she’s available, but we’ve talked a little bit.” Everyone in Hollyweird (and who own a tv) know Mr.Make-My-Day is a staunch Obama hater and the fact Bey recently held a huge ballin’ azz fundraiser for the POTUS might not sit well with the old geezer. Do you think Clint will cut King Bey for his next flick because of her political views? Source

Clint Eastwood on Ellen: Democrats Think I’m Senile!

Clint Eastwood stopped by Ellen Monday and spoke out about his now-infamous ” Invisible Obama ” speech at the RNC. He called the response “interesting.” “The Democrats who were watching thought I was going senile,” he said, smiling. “The Republicans knew I was… I was actually just trying to enjoy myself.” The former mayor of Carmel, Calif., went on to stay that his political views are more Libertarian – “where Republicans used to be” – than strictly conservative. “You’re socially liberal, leave everybody alone, but you believe in fiscal responsibility and you believe in government staying out of your life,” he explained. For that, the crowd gave the Trouble With the Curve star a round of applause:

Kelsey Grammer Blames Emmy Snub on Republican Political Views

Kelsey Grammer, the star of Boss on Starz, suggested last night that he may have been snubbed by the Emmys because of his Republican leanings. Grammer’s role as a ruthless Chicago mayor won him a Golden Globe, yet he isn’t even among the 2012 Emmy nominees , which Jay Leno was puzzled by. The Tonight Show host asked Grammer why that was. His response: “It may have to do with several things, honestly, but I think it’s possible… I mean, I am a… I’m a declared out of the closet Republican in Hollywood.” “Do I believe it’s possible that some young person, young voting actor – or even older voting member for the Emmys – would sit there and go …” “‘Yeah, that’s a great performance, but ooooooooooooh, I just hate everything he stands for?’ [Cue sarcasm.] I don’t believe that’s possible.” Grammer has won Emmys for Cheers, Frazier , and even The Simpsons , but he claims he only publicized his political views after his last win (2006). The rebuttal to Grammer’s comment is that no matter how good he is on Boss , it’s on Starz, and only has around 300,000 viewers per episode. It’s possible liberal voters don’t care for his politics, but how many even know that about him, let alone care? Enough to cost him an Emmy nod? Also, if any voters snubbed Kelsey for personal reasons (a big if), wouldn’t his ugly, public split with Camille Grammer be a more likely reason? You be the judge: Think Kelsey is snubbed because of his views?

Nora Ephron Didn’t Feel Limited By Romantic Comedies

‘I’m not complaining about any box that I’m in, because I can write whatever I want,’ late writer/director tells MTV News in 2009. By Kara Warner with reporting by Josh Horowitz Nora Ephron in 2009 Photo: No matter how it happens, when or where, it is always sad to hear of the passing of a celebrated, talented and respected public figure like Academy Award-nominated screenwriter, director and playwright Nora Ephron, who died of pneumonia at age 71 on Tuesday (June 26). Ephron is best known for writing and/or directing some of Hollywood’s most famous and successful romantic comedies like “When Harry Met Sally … ,” “Sleepless in Seattle” and “You’ve Got Mail.” Her final film as writer and director was 2009’s “Julie & Julia,” and during the promotion for that film, which starred Meryl Streep and Amy Adams, Ephron revealed to MTV News that although she was happy to be known for her romantic comedies, she also dabbled in a few politically charged subjects that had yet to be made into feature films. “You should see my closet, it’s full of political scripts,” Ephron revealed, adding that while she’d love to see one of her many political scripts turned into a film, she wasn’t holding out hope that Hollywood would let her take a turn from romantic comedies to political dramedies. “Forget it,” Ephron said of wanting to direct one of her political scripts. “I mean yes, but the [movies] you get made are not necessarily all the things you write.” When asked if she felt at all limited by being most well-known for her expertise in the rom-com genre, Ephron said she felt nothing but gratitude for how much her successful romantic comedies have done in providing her with the freedom to explore other unrelated subjects. “I’m not complaining about any box that I’m in, because I can write whatever I want,” Ephron said with sincerity. “Fortunately, I’m not just in the movie business, so I don’t feel that the only way I can express myself is by the movies I make.” Share your condolences for Ephron’s family and friends in the comments below. Game Change Director Jay Roach Talks Back Over Sarah Palin Pic

One thing about Sarah Palin, she has staying power. People on the left and right love and hate her (or both) and as Mitt Romney gears up to choose his potential Veep, it’s hard to imagine whoever it is will have the same cultural impact as Palin. Movies have been made about her including the pro-Palin doc The Undefeated (2011) directed by Stephen K. Bannon which is inspired by her book Going Rogue: An American Life and then there was, of course, the reality show set in her home state where she served part of a term as governor in Sarah Palin’s Alaska . But countless on-TV appearances later another film – this time, made for HBO – brought out star-wattage and more controversy in Game Change , which the filmmaker recently spoke about including his frustration at negative feedback from both sides of the political spectrum. Directed by Jay Roach and starring Julianne Moore as the Palin herself along with Ed Harris (as McCain) and Woody Harrelson, the film followed Arizona Senator John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign from his selection of Palin as his running mate and his ultimate defeat, some would say due in large part to Palin’s much ballyhooed public and media gaffes including her ill-fated interview with then CBS News anchor Katie Couric in which she had difficulty picking a newspaper that she reads daily and taking some geographic liberties with Russia’s proximity to Alaska. Game Change was not Roach’s first foray into campaign controversy. His earlier HBO film Recount , which followed the 2000 election between George W. Bush and Al Gore that ended up in the Supreme Court, giving the election to Bush, won three Emmy Awards in 2008. Roach told The Hollywood Reporter he tried on numerous occasions to reach out to Palin to cooperate on the film to no avail. He even tried tracking her down at a string of parties around the time of the White House Correspondents dinner last year. “I really thought I would go up to her and say, ‘Hi, my name’s Jay Roach and I’m doing this film about the McCain-Palin campaign…I’m sincerely trying to get the story right and it’d be great if you want to talk about it and tell a story with even more layers and depth.’ So it would’ve been the world’s most awkward conversation; she’d already said ‘no’.” Roach took heat for portraying Palin as falling apart at the seams in the wake of the Couric interview, though Roach said he and Moore were trying to find empathy for the V.P. candidate, telling THR, “What might that have been like, to have been surrounded by people you don’t trust anymore, to have to experience so much public humiliation and mockery and, you know, widespread judgment?” And what about the heavy response on both sides of the proverbial aisle once the film hit HBO? “I think I was annoyed by the fact that the people who were attacking the film hadn’t seen it, and they said, ‘We haven’t seen it, but we hate it,'” said Roach. He noted that some people thought it was too sympathetic though he said he thinks that crowd had likely expected it to be more critical. And now Roach is taking on the political front again, but this time it will be a fictional story (though one can’t help but speculate there will be ample ‘truth’ to the story). His next film The Campaign will star Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis as two opponents fighting it out in North Carolina.
