Sarah Palin to Join The View?!?

Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd are out . Might Sarah Palin be in?!? In light of The View shake-up announced late last month, The former Vice Presidential candidate was asked if she would help co-anchor a talk show. “Maybe,” Palin told The Hollywood Reporter. “But the politics would have to be interspersed with a whole lot of fun and real life and inspiration showcasing American work ethic, because those topics are all pretty much the antithesis of today’s politics, which I find incorrigibly disastrous!” Palin then proved that she follows current pop culture events and specifically cited the ABC gabfest. “I hear everyone recently got canned from The View,” Palin noted. “Maybe a show like that needs a punch of reality and a voice of reason from America’s heartland to knock some humble sense into their scripts. You know, someone willing to go rogue.” There’s also been talk that Bachelorette Andi Dorfman could come on board The View, but there’s plenty of room for both her and Palin. After this season, only Whoopi Goldberg will remain as a regular panelist. “Any specific names at this point are rumor and speculation,” ABC said in a statement. “No decision has been made and we are not to ready to make any announcements.” What do YOU think, THGers? Jon Stewart: More Trusted Than MSNBC!

Jon Stewart isn’t even a real news broadcaster, but the Comedy Central figure is more trusted to deliver news than MSNBC, a new study found. According to a new survey by the Brookings Institution and the Public Religion Research Institute, the public trusts him more than a 24/7 news channel. Jon Stewart: Better Than MSNBC at News! The organizations did a study about immigration and the media that contained within it a broader question about which news outlet the public trusts most. Fox News came in first, as per usual; the network has been consistently named both the most and the least trusted name in news. Let’s hear it for polarization! Unfortunately for MSNBC, it was dead last, with just 5 percent of Americans saying they trusted it most … 8 percent, by comparison, chose The Daily Show . Another study showed that Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert did a better job at informing people about campaign finance issues than traditional outlets. Colbert, of course, is taking over for David Letterman on CBS’ The Late Show next year, where he will likely still outpace MSNBC in viewer trust. Classic Jon Stewart 1. Liz Wahl, Russia Today Anchor, Resigns on Air

Liz Wahl, an anchor on state-funded Russia Today, shocked viewers last night when she took a stand against President Vladimir Putin… by resigning on air! “I cannot be part of a network funded by the Russian government that whitewashes the actions of Putin,” Wahl said at the end of her broadcast, following a discussion of the “ethical and moral challenges” she has faced on the Russia Today team.  Liz Wahl Resigns from Russia Today Wahl hails from a family who escaped Soviet rule during the 1956 Hungarian revolution and is the daughter of a U.S. veteran. “I’m proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth,” Wahl said. “And that is why, after this newscast, I’m resigning.” In a statement, Russia Today referred to Wahl’s move as a “self-promotional stunt,” an accusation she denied when later speaking with Anderson Cooper. Wahl said the concept that she did this “for personal gain … couldn’t be farther from the truth.” She added that she’d “hesitated to speak on this for a while for fear of repercussion,” but chose to finally act due to belief “the propagandist nature of RT (had come) out in full force” over its coverage of the Ukraine crisis. “RT is not about the truth; it’s about promoting a Putinist agenda,” Wahl told CNN. “And I can tell you firsthand, it’s about bashing America.”

Marilyn Monroe Sex Tape with JFK & RFK: Headed to Auction!

An alleged Marilyn Monroe sex tape is ready to hit the open market, with former President John F. Kennedy AND his brother Robert F. Kennedy in co-starring roles. It’s not entirely clear if JFK and RFK tag-teamed Marilyn Monroe at the same time, or if the same video just happens to contain separate trysts with the brothers. Either way, former Hollywood bodyguard William Castleberry says it’s legit, and was just seized from his home along with other property as a result of a lawsuit. The Marilyn Monroe sex tape is going to auction Tuesday to cover a $200,000 court judgment against him, unless he can come up with that sum beforehand. No offense William … but we’re not exactly pulling for you here. Castleberry won’t say where or how he got the film, but says he always kept it secret out of respect for her ex-husband Joe DiMaggio, who he says was a good friend. The steamy footage has never before been seen … obviously. William says he’s well aware that a lot of people will think he’s a fraud, but insists it’s definitely the sexual icon, who died in 1962 at age 36, on the 8mm film. There have long been rumors that the Hollywood legend had affairs with both Kennedy brothers in the early ’60s, so this wouldn’t be totally unrealistic, but … Let’s just say the Kim Kardashian sex tape remains the gold standard until we see actual proof of JFK, RFK or MM going to town on each other on film. Nice try, President Obama. But Jonathan Davis is on to you. TMZ caught up with Korn singer Jonathan Davis today and asked him about his band’s new music video (below). Why is it filled with clips of Miley Cyrus dancing and other pop culture events? Because, Davis calmly explained, “our government uses [celebrities] to distract from what’s really going on.” Referring the Miley Cyrus VMA performance that dominated all headlines for days? “When that went down, Barack Obama passed a law that made him basically a dictator,” Davis says. “He can imprison whoever he wants.” Watch the interview with Davis and the Korn video for “Spike in My Veins” now. Bob McDonnell, Wife Charged with Corruption; Ex-Virginia Governor Denies Guilt

Federal prosecutors have charged former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell and his wife, Maureen, with taking $120,000 in undocumented loans and numerous gifts. The alleged corruption stemmed from his relationship with the owner of a dietary supplements business and helping it promote products to state officials. Bob McDonnell Indicted The 43-page indictment includes page after page of alleged requests by the McDonnells, Maureen in particular, for help in paying for vacations. And their daughter’s wedding, nearly $20,000 in designer dresses, a Rolex watch inscribed “71st Governor of Virginia” and numerous golf outings. The couple also allegedly asked for private trips on the company’s jet and, once, to use a $200,000 Ferrari. Bob McDonnell has denied any wrongdoing. The lengthy investigation embarrassed state officials and may have contributed to the election of Democrat Terry McAuliffe as governor last year. It also dimmed hopes that McDonnell, considered a rising star in the Republican party, could be a contender for the party’s 2016 presidential nomination. The McDonnells were charged with conspiracy, wire fraud and other crimes. Maureen McDonnell was charged with obstruction for allegedly lying to investigators. The couple are also accused of attempting to conceal the loans and gifts. In a televised statement with his family, McDonnell denied the charges, saying he regretted accepting the gifts, which “all have been returned or repaid with interest.” “I did nothing illegal,” he said. At the center of the drama were supplements that Star Scientific, a former cigarette manufacturer, said could help treat inflammation in diseases such as Alzheimer’s and MS. Officials expressed skepticism, saying there were no data to support the claims, which the company could not make in ads because its pills were not approved by the FDA. Prosecutors allege that in return for the gifts, the McDonnells attended or sponsored functions to introduce Star Scientific’s products to state officials and the public. They also allegedly attempted to arrange scientific research at prestigious state universities that might back up the company’s claims about their products.

Julie Gayet Rumored to Be Mistress of French President

Julie Gayet is making headlines in France for being that nation’s version of Monica Lewinsky . The 41-year old actress is rumored to be sleeping with French President Francois Hollande, as rumors continue to swirl around the actions of that politician overseas. Gayet is married to Argentinia director and script writer Santiago Amigorena and has two kids. She started acting at the age of 17 and recently portrayed a diplomatic adviser at the French foreign ministry in Quai d’Orsay . Gayet may be coy about her supposed affair with the President, but she’s always supported Hollande. In 2012, Gayet appeared in a promotional video for the President in which she described the Socialist candidate as “marvelous,” “humble” and “somebody who really listens.” See. There’s the key, fellas. Women love a man who listens. Chatter about a relationship between Gayet and Hollande first emerged early last year, but were flatly denied by both sides. The actress even engaged in legal action against various websites that were running the story, charging “infringement of personal privacy.” However, Gayet was asked about Hollande last month during a television interview when the reporter joked of the President visiting Gayet’s latest movie set: “The President loves the film. His partner [Valerie Treierweiler] much less.” Gayet, for possibly understandable reasons, refused to comment.

Dennis Rodman FLIPS OUT at CNN Over North Korea Questions

Dennis Rodman went positively ballistic today during an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo. While surrounded with several former NBA players, Rodman defended his trips to North Korea as a “great idea for the world.” But should the group, who is due to play in a basketball game tomorrow in honor of Kim Jong Un ‘s 31st birthday, really be in Pyongyang? Is this a good idea, considering North Korea’s human rights record? Cuomo also asked Rodman a serious question about Kenneth Bae, an American citizen who was arrested in November 2012, convicted last spring by North Korea of unexplained “hostile acts” and sentenced to 15 years in a labor camp… only for Rodman to FLIP OUT. He sounds like Hulk Hogan giving a wrestling promo in the following video. You must watch it now: Dennis Rodman GOES OFF in Defense of North Korea Trip Then again… really, CNN?!? Why are you giving this man any kind of political platform?

Ned Vizzini Dies; Best-Selling Author Was 32

Ned Vizzini, who scored a big hit with It’s Kind of a Funny Story, a young adult novel about depression, has died in an apparent suicide at the age of 32. He jumped off the roof of his parents’ Brooklyn home on Thursday, the AP reports. Vizzini had struggled with mental illness all his life, his brother Daniel Vizzini said. Ned Vizzini Dead at 32 It’s Kind of a Funny Story is based on his time in a Brooklyn psychiatric ward as a teen. It was later made into a film starring Zach Galifianakis and Keir Gilchrist. Ned Vizzini traveled the country talking about mental health issues. “At his signings, countless kids would approach him to say that he changed their lives – he gave them hope,” his longtime publisher, Alessandra Balzer, said. The troubled Vizzini’s other books include Be More Chill and The Other Normals , both of which also told of young people who feel like outsiders. He is survived by his wife and their two-year-old son. R.I.P.
