Breaking Dawn Director to Fans: Have No Worries!

As the recently-chosen director of Breaking Dawn , Bill Condon has a message for fans: The movie is in good hands! Seriously, the Oscar winner behind Dreamgirls really does have this message. He posted it on Facebook over the weekend: Greetings Twihards, Twifans, Twilight Moms, Team Edward, Team Jacob and Team Switzerland, I just want to say hello to all of you and let you know that I’m stoked to be getting underway on the adventure of making BREAKING DAWN. As you’ve probably heard, I’ve been given a very warm welcome by Stephenie and Team Summit – who are super-focused, as you know, on getting these movies right. I’ve read BREAKING DAWN twice, rewatched Catherine’s and Chris’s movies 2-3 times each, have all four CDs playing in my car, and have Catherine’s notebook, Mark Cotta Vaz’s companion books, and even Volume 1 of the graphic novel here on my desk – a corner of my office is starting to look like Hot Topic. I realize that this barely qualifies me for ‘newborn’ status in the universe you’ve been living inside for a few years now, but a guy’s gotta start somewhere. I’m a huge admirer of the already-iconic Kristen, Robert , and Taylor, and wanted to be the one to work with them as they face the challenges of bringing your beloved characters to the end of their journeys. Really, what could be more fun than that? Sounds like Condon understands the challenges ahaead of him and recognizes the popularity of the world he has just agreed to take on. Let’s welcome him to the franchise, shall we?

Trey Songz Recalls His Barbershop Days On ‘When I Was 17’

‘I cut everybody’s hair for the prom,’ the singer says on new MTV show, premiering Saturday. By Jayson Rodriguez Trey Songz Photo: MTV News We all know Trey Songz is a ladies man, but the extent of his devotion to the opposite sex hasn’t truly been revealed until now. “When I was 17 I did my girlfriend’s eyebrows,” the singer confesses during the premiere of MTV’s new show “When I Was 17,” which premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. and also features Khloe Kardashian and Perez Hilton. But to be fair, Trey Songz was a barber-in-training at the time, keeping the fellas and the ladies looking sharp. It all started when he devised a plan to receive early dismissal from school and enrolled in a trade that he thought he would be able to take lightly. Instead, the Virgina native found himself with an intense schedule that included learning the finer points of hair care, from cutting heads to, well, waxing eyebrows. His skills eventually became so in demand that his friends lined up at his house to score haircuts before prom. “I cut everybody’s hair for the prom,” he recalled. “That whole week of prom, like every day, probably at least five to 10 guys would come over to the house to get a shape-up,” his cousin Jay chimed in. The downside to his popularity with his clippers resulted in some hotheaded customers — literally! “My clippers got so hot, I remember I messed my homeboy’s head up so bad,” he recalled, smiling. “He had scars for, like, the next two days. [ Traces his hair line to show where the damage was done. ] All that. My bad.” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Trey Songz, Khloe Kardashian and Perez Hilton — premieres Saturday (May 1) at 11 a.m. on MTV. Related Artists Trey Songz

Jake Pavelka: Vote For Me on Dancing with the Stars!

Long hours. Intense pressure. No pants. Jake Pavelka can endure that. Handling the “popularity contest” that is Dancing with the Stars? He’s got issues there. “I think dancing-wise, I’ve been doing OK,” The Bachelor star said. “The thing I wasn’t really prepared for was this is a little bit of a popularity contest!” “I’ve been focusing 150 percent of my energy on learning dancing and neglecting the 25 million people who don’t know they have to vote to keep you on.” Only 150 percent, Jake? Might wanna kick it up to 175, dog. “Look at the competition,” he says , “and [Chad] Ochocinco has 800,000 people on his twitter! I have 16,000. By the way, my twitter is @JakePavelka1.” Yeah . Solid plug, J. He does raise a valid point, though many fans do vote for who they like (hence, Kate Gosselin lasted five weeks). Still, Jake feels he’s up against it. “It seems like everyone else is established in Hollywood, or they’ve walked on the moon, or run touchdowns for the Bengals. Everybody has a huge personality.” Well, the show is Dancing with the Stars , man. It’s not Dancing with Peeps From Other Reality Shows and Celebrity Gossip Tabloids So We Can Boost Ratings . The future Mr. Vienna Girardi , who was “shocked” he landed in the bottom two at one point, has stayed out of it the past two weeks as the field has narrowed. Think he can win? Do you want him too? Who’s your favorite couple in this popularity contest? Tell us who you’re rooting for on Dancing with the Stars below:

Multitasking Demonstrated at Apple OS 4.0 Sneak Peak Launch

This is finally confirmed. The Apple OS 4.0 will offer multitasking of applications on the Iphone. What’s something to rave about the good news is that the multitasking feature of the Apple OS 4.0 will not affect the speed and battery life of the iPhone, iPad and the iPod Touch. Double-clicking the home button of the said apple devices will now enable the user to view the running applications. Tapping the applications found after double-clicking the home button will enable them to switch from one running application to another. Engadget however describes the OS 4.0 multitasking feature more of as “not a true” multitasking system. The concept behind the setup for the new operating system is that it will just enable the devices to simply run the services apps need in the background and the applications don’t need to do them individually. How everything was made on the other hand is quite effective but there are still certain caveats on the Apple OS 4.0 for IM maintenance. Users still have to wait until another release that will enable users to mutitask conversations and chats on IM apps like Yahoo! Messenger or Twitter. A big but sad news to Iphone 3G owners and older Iphone models: The Apple OS 4.0 can’t be updated to the devices since their hardware doesn’t support the new OS. Only Iphone 3Gs users and late 2009 Ipod Touch users will be able to appreciate the mutitasking update from the Apple OS 4.0 Multitasking Demonstrated at Apple OS 4.0 Sneak Peak Launch is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

If Alex Lambert Can Dream…

Ratings for American Idol have dropped this season and many viewers aren’t thrilled with the remaining contestants. THG thinks we know why: the early elimination of Alex Lambert. Just as this adorable singer was feeling comfortable on stage, fans voted him off. So, where can you catch the young crooner now? Online. Lambert has signed on for If I Can Dream , the Web reality series that follows six people – including Miley Cyrus’ ex, Justin Gaston – attempting to succeed in Hollywood. In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly , Alex discusses the show, his future and other topics. A few excerpts are below… What is the show? : They’re going to follow me while I pursue my career. They’re going to hook me up with vocal coaches and co-writers to help me co-write my songs. They’re pretty much going to do everything they can to help me take my music to the next level. There’s five other people in the house, and it’s just showing us pursuing our dreams. Why is he doing it? It’s like the perfect thing I could do right now. I went back home to Texas… I didn’t know what to do with like press, publicity, and all that stuff. So this is perfect. They’re hooking me up with the perfect people. On his popularity : I think the reason that a lot of people like me is [that I’m] something unique that people haven’t really heard on Idol before. There’s never been someone who sounded like me on Idol ever. I guess everyone was like, ”This is cool.” I think I have a unique style, but people realize I’m a beginner.

Ali Fedotowsky: The Next Bachelorette?

Fresh off her drawn-out, not-at-all-staged departure from The Bachelor, rumors that Ali Fedotowsky will be the next star of The Bachelorette are already surfacing. There has been no word from ABC, but it seems like a done deal. Everything is lining up for this to happen. First, Ali became a fan favorite. Then, she voluntarily left the program, only to beg to come back on that fake phone call . All a clever ruse to have Ali leave at the peak of her popularity, make fans think she coming back, only to have her “rejected” by Jake and leave us wanting more. The only question is whether ABC offered her The Bachelorette spot ahead of time and orchestrated her whole “work-related” exit or if that part was actually real. Either way, Ali Fedotowsky will be The Bachelorette . Bank on it. Do you think Ali Fedotowsky will make a good Bachelorette? The PR tour has already begun, albeit subtly. The announcement may even come during this coming week’s “Women Tell All” reunion special. Gotta kill that time somehow. Yesterday, Ali told Ellen DeGeneres that she would be “flattered” if asked to star on The Bachelor sister series. Host-pimp Chris Harrison says “she definitely has a shot.” “I think she would be a fantastic Bachelorette . I like women that have loved and lost, have learned a lesson, and you have Ali, obviously beautiful, a very down-to-earth, career-driven woman who learned a great lesson about love.” Loved and lost? She left, then pretended to want back on the show 40 seconds later! A great lesson about contrived reality TV is more like it, but more power to her! Is Ali Fedotowsky a good choice as The Bachelorette?
