Angelina Jolie Considers Kids, Marriage, Movies and More

Perhaps sick of concocted cover stories in which she played no role – did you hear Brangelina is over ?!? And Brad and Jen are sneaking around ?!? – Angelina Jolie sits down with the latest issue of Vanity Fair and opens up about a number of life issues. Among them: the possibility of more children; an eventual marriage to Brad Pitt; and whether there will be a Mr. & Mrs. Smith sequel. Excerpts are below… Will she have more kids? “We’re not opposed to it. But we want to make sure we can give everybody special time. They’re kids now, and can play together, but they’re going to need a lot more talking in the middle of the night, like I did with my mom for hours. We want to make sure we don’t build a family so big that we don’t have absolutely enough time to raise them each really well.” Will she and Pitt ever get married? “it’s just like we already are. Children are clearly a commitment, a bigger commitment [than marriage]. It’s for life.” Will she quit acting? “I’m very, very grateful, it’s a fun job. It’s a luxury… But I don’t think I’ll do it much longer. Because I have a happy home… I got back from work last night, and everybody was playing music and dancing and I suddenly found myself dancing around with a bunch of little fun crazy people.” Will she and Pitt ever co-star in another movie? “I’d love to. We’ve talked about it. We’d have to figure out who’s going to watch the kids, but it’s really about finding the right thing, because we’ve looked. When you’re a couple, there are certain things people don’t want to see you do. It becomes too indulgent, too personal. “I don’t think people want to see people who are really together intimate on-screen. Maybe we have to play bad guys that try to kill each other, so it’s just fun and aggressive, not dealing with some man-woman deal.” This issue goes on sale nationwide on July 6. In the meantime, let’s talk more about how awesome Angelina Jolie is!

Florida Gulf Oil Spill: Plans to Evacuate Tampa Bay Area Are In Place : Veterans Today

Hernando County Political Buzz Examiner By Maryann Tobin Note to readers: This reprint of Maryann Tobin’s news story has over 14,700 reads as of June 24th. UPDATED: June 14, 2010 Gulf Oil Spill 2010: Plans to evacuate Tampa Bay area are in place. As FEMA and other government agencies prepare for what is now being called the worst oil spill disaster in history, plans to evacuate the Tampa Bay area are in place. The plans would be announed in the event of a controlled burn of surface oil in the Gulf of Mexico, or if wind or other conditions are expected to take toxic fumes through Tampa Bay. This practice has been used by the US Forestry service, when fire and smoke threaten the health and well being of people. The elderly and those with respiratory problems would be more susceptible to health risks, in the event of a controlled burn. Estimates of the rate of BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil spill have varied. Independent scientists now suggest that the true spill rate, before the riser pipe was cut off in June, was between 20,000 and 50,000 barrels a day. Since the April 20th explosion, which resulted in the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon rig, there have been more than a million gallons of chemicals poured into the Gulf of Mexico in efforts to break up the spill. The chemicals have come under scrutiny because of their own toxic nature. It is not certain if the massive slick will have to be set on fire near Tampa Bay, but the possibility has not been ruled out. BP has been using controlled burnes as a way to contain the oil spill since the crisis began. Plans to do additional controlled burns around the well site were announced by Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen at a briefing in early June added by: Monkey_Films

Fat Joe Denies Sexual-Assault Claims

Rapper’s lawyer says woman making claims ‘posed as a fan’ and then made ‘false allegations.’ By Gil Kaufman Fat Joe Photo: Carlos Marino/ Getty Images A lawyer for rapper Fat Joe vehemently denied allegations by a Wisconsin woman who claimed she was a victim of sexual assault in the MC’s limousine on Sunday night. “Rapper Joseph Cartagena, known as Fat Joe, members of his entourage and security staff were briefly questioned by members of the Madison, Wisconsin, Police Department who were investigating false allegations made by a woman who initially posed as a fan and later claimed to be the victim of an assault after demanding money,” Joe’s lawyer, Dawn Florio, wrote in a statement, which was called “Groupie Pretender Targets Rapper for Shakedown.” The statement continues, “At no point did Mr. Cartagena or any member of his entourage assault or have any improper contact with the woman. It is truly unfortunate that false allegations such as these cause the public to doubt the claims of actual victims of sexual assaults.” Police are still investigating the claims made by an unnamed local 33-year-old woman who called police around 12:46 a.m. Monday to report the alleged incident. Joe was in town on Sunday night to perform a gig at the Orpheum Theater. The woman claimed that after the concert, she was invited to ride in the rapper’s Cadillac limousine with his entourage on the way to their hotel, according to an incident report from the Madison PD. She claimed that she was inappropriately touched while riding in the limo. Joe was detained for questioning, along with other unidentified members of his crew, but was not arrested, and he was released early Monday morning. No arrests have been made so far in the incident, and the investigation is ongoing. A spokesperson for the Madison Police Department said the alleged victim was scheduled to be interviewed a second time by police on Tuesday (June 22) but that no other information was available on the case at press time. Daniel Radcliffe Thought Justin Bieber Was A Woman

‘I’m so out of the loop when it comes to pop culture that I kind of don’t even try anymore,’ ‘Harry Potter’ star admits. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Daniel Radcliffe Photo: MTV News Radiohead, Hope of the States — these are the kinds of bands Daniel Radcliffe listened to for years to get into character for his scenes in the various “Harry Potter” films. Sometimes at 6 in the morning, he’d pop into the makeup chair and start blasting old-school ska and punk tunes for all to hear. That’s the sort of stuff that gets Radcliffe pumped up to do his job, so it should come as no surprise that he’s rather less familiar with the musical stylings of Justin Bieber. But it is a surprise — and a pretty funny one, at that — to hear who the “Potter” star thought was actually behind hits like “Baby” and “One Time.” “I only heard Justin Bieber for the first time two weeks ago,” Radcliffe told MTV News. “I genuinely thought it was a woman singing. I’d never heard it before. Is it big in England yet?” Well, Bieber’s My World dropped in the U.K. in January and went gold by April, and while the pop star’s upcoming tour will keep him within the confines of North America through 2010, there’s always the possibility that he’ll cross the pond again next year. Just don’t count on Radcliffe to be in attendance when that happens. “I’m so out of the loop when it comes to pop culture that I kind of don’t even try anymore,” he admitted. That’s not to say he’s completely disconnected from everything mainstream. Radcliffe has much respect for the artist who’s produced tunes like “Alejandro” and “Telephone.” “I know who Lady Gaga is,” he said. “I think she’s kind of amazing. She’s really got a voice. My god. Not my kind of music, particularly, but she can really sing.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Tim Howard Turns Tourette’s from Challenge Into Advantage

Watch Tim Howard as he glides with acrobatic grace through the crosshairs, making whiplash saves and reading the ball as if it were a child’s book. He is generally so clear-headed, so cool in the heat of all that mayhem, and when the match is over, when the anxiety that rivals running through traffic has simmered, Howard bolts for the locker room and inhales peace. It’s not exactly fair to say soccer saved Howard, because the bubble that nurtures him is ripe with his Christian faith, his family and an extended athletic Rolodex that stretches from North Brunswick, N.J., where he was raised, to the cathedrals of the English Premier League, where his airborne feats have tweaked the perception of the United States as a country not quite ready for the beautiful game. Howard is the 31-year-old goaltender who Friday will be the last line of defense for the U.S. national team in a World Cup Group C game against tiny Slovenia. He also happens to have Tourette Syndrome (TS), a condition that these days is far less worrisome than the bruised ribs that have been screaming ever since an English player slammed into Howard cleats-first, at full speed, in a collision during last Saturday’s match.

Chipper Jones Doesn’t Want Retirement Talk To Obscure Braves Season

Holding court in front of his locker Thursday afternoon , Chipper Jones said, “I just want to put the cork back in the bottle” regarding the talk about his presumed impending retirement. While that isn’t likely to achieve the desired effect, Chipper won’t accommodate those looking for him to discuss the subject – claiming he won’t address his career status again until the season is over. Jones told the assembled media that he didn’t want to take the focus off a Braves team currently sitting at first place in the NL East, or from Bobby Cox’s final season as manager for that club. He said that he had met earlier in the day with team president John Schuerholz. Not that he was entirely cagey about his intentions. At one point in the proceedings, he said, “Let’s face it, we all know which way I’m leaning.” For all intents and purposes, it’s likely then that this is the final season of his career, but it won’t be made official one way or the other until the 2010 season is over. It won’t stop the media from discussing the possibility, but it will keep reporters from hounding him and his teammates about hints regarding his position. Jones was not scheduled to be in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Rays, but Cox said he was simply giving Jones the night off.

Portsmouth creditors accept deal and give the club a brighter future

• Proposal offering 20p in the pound on debts approved • HMRC has 28 days to appeal Portsmouth appeared to move a significant step closer to achieving long-awaited financial stability today when the company voluntary arrangement to take the club out of administration was voted through by its creditors. The decision also clears the way for David Lampitt, the Portsmouth chief executive, to appoint a new manager, with whom he is “currently negotiating a contract”. The only obstacle to the CVA being officially approved is the possibility of Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs raising a legal challenge. HMRC voted against Portsmouth’s proposal of 20p in the pound over the next five years, which was approved by 81.3% of the creditors, and has 28 days to raise an objection. The Revenue was allowed voting rights of only £24m by the administrators rather than its claim of £37m, which would have given it more than the 25% required to block the CVA. HMRC voted against because it is challenging the Premier League and Football League rule which states that football creditors must have priority and their debts paid off in full when a club enters administration. A statement released by the Revenue said: “HMRC notes that the result of today’s vote was to accept the CVA proposals. HMRC stands by the full amount of its claim. We will now carefully consider our position following the decision to reduce the amount of our claim for voting purposes. “HMRC believes the so‑called football creditors rule is unfair, unlawful and unacceptable. It cannot be right for millions of pounds worth of assets and income of Portsmouth FC to be earmarked for payment of football debts in full while other creditors – including the public purse – have been offered a mere 20p in the pound over five years.” Whether HMRC mounts a legal challenge remains to be seen, though it is thought to be unlikely. What the CVA’s acceptance means is that control of Portsmouth’s day-to-day operations will be now completely ceded to Lampitt, although until a new buyer is found for the club he will still report to the administrators. Andrew Andronikou, the chief administrator, told the Guardian: “We are now in a transitional period where we hand over the club’s daily business more fully to David Lampitt.” The chief executive praised the CVA’s authorisation and told Portsmouth’s website: “This is a hugely significant day – I’m very pleased the vote has gone through. The deal reached between the administrators and the creditors provides us with the first step towards the rebuilding of the club. One of my tasks is to bring stability to the club so that it has a long-term future. This should make it a more attractive proposition for new investment. I believe this has to the best way to bring long-term success.” Andronikou confirmed Lampitt is close to appointing Avram Grant’s successor. “He is past interviewing candidates and is negotiating a contract with the new manager.” Steve Coterill, the former Notts County manager, is thought to be in line to take over but Andronikou refused to comment. Ben Youngs and Courtney Lawes to make first England starts

• Johnson drops Care and Shaw for second Test • England coach resists temptation to recall Wilkinson Ben Youngs and Courtney Lawes will make their first starts for England after Martin Johnson made two changes for Saturday’s second Test against Australia. The Leicester scrum-half Youngs has replaced Danny Care after making a lively impression off the bench in England’s 27-17 defeat to the Wallabies. Lawes, the Northampton lock, takes over in the second row from the veteran Simon Shaw. Both Youngs and Lawes will bring a level of dynamism to the England side after they paid the price for a lack of pace and penetration in the first Test. “This is a great opportunity for Ben, who has been with us since the middle of the Six Nations – the same for Courtney,” said Johnson. “Ben brings something different to Danny but it is not a reflection on Danny’s performance. It is just an opportunity to get Ben on the field. “It is a tough call on Danny, who has not done anything particularly wrong. Simon Shaw certainly hasn’t done anything wrong but Courtney Lawes has really stepped up in the last few weeks since we have been together. He is very athletic and gets around the field and is very aggressive.” Much to the surprise of the Australians, Johnson has resisted the temptation to bring Jonny Wilkinson back into the team and stuck by the fly-half Toby Flood and the inside centre Shontayne Hape. “There is always a rationale for playing Jonny but we are happy with what we have got with Toby,” said Johnson. “We can’t give them that many shots. They are a good team and they will get something on us but we made it too easy for them last week.” Mike Tindall has recovered from a dead leg to be named at outside centre but there is no place in the 22-man squad for Mathew Tait, whose seat on the bench has been taken by Delon Armitage. England dominated the scrum last week to win two penalty tries – but the defence was porous, the kicking game poor and they could not match Australia’s slick attacking runners. England have called Saracens centre Brad Barritt into the squad as cover for Dominic Waldouck, who is struggling with an ankle injury, and suspended winger Matt Banahan. The Wallabies have been boosted by the return of scrum-half Will Genia and inside centre Matt Giteau. The head coach, Robbie Deans, has decided to restore Genia at scrum-half, despite Luke Burgess’ excellent performance in Australia’s first-Test victory. Genia has overcome a knee ligament strain while Giteau is back at inside centre in place of Berrick Barnes after recovering from a hip problem which forced him to miss last weekend’s game.
