Simon Cowell: Totally Smitten with Mezhgan Hussainy

As evidenced by his response to Ryan Seacrest’s question during a live broadcast of American Idol last week ( Who are you winking at? My girlfriend. ), Simon Cowell is in proudly in love with Mezhgan Hussainy . Whether or not these two are engaged is still a question , but Simon’s feelings for the make-up artist are not. “You just know when you’ve found somebody special and I feel very, very happy,” Cowell tells Piers Morgan in an interview that will air Saturday in England. The judge, of course, will leave American Idol after this season. What else does his future hold? Possibly children. “The thing about kids, it’s like marriage, you know you have to believe you’re in something that you’re in for the long term, a hundred percent,” Simon said, not dismissing the possibility of procreation. The Afghanistan-born Hussainy has been seen sporting a huge diamond ring, but neither she nor Cowell will confirm if a proposal has taken place. Nicole Scherzinger Confirms Pussycat Dolls’ ‘New Cast’

‘I’m still Nicky Doll,’ Scherzinger says about her status in the girl group. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Larry Carroll Nicole Scherzinger Photo: MTV News These days, Nicole Scherzinger seems to be the last Pussycat Doll standing. With the other members of the girl group going their separate ways , the “Dancing With The Stars” contestant and the group’s founder, Robin Antin, have been left to pick up the pieces . What’s next for the girl group? A fresh start, for one thing. In a chat with MTV News on Wednesday, Scherzinger confirmed what Antin had already hinted, and what fans had suspected as members of the group announced one by one that they were pursuing careers away from PCD: “We’re also gonna have a new cast of Dolls. And I’m excited,” she said. These days, when Scherzinger isn’t working on her “DWTS” moves, she’s in the studio recording songs that could appear on the followup to the Dolls’ 2008 full-length Doll Domination . “Right now I’ve been in the studio working on music non-stop. We’re gonna have another Pussycat Dolls album for all of our fans out there, but that’s gonna be late this year. “I’m still Nicky Doll,” she added. “And I’m just plowing away in the studio making music that I love.” Nicky Doll added that the music she is working on will most likely appear on the next Dolls album, although she didn’t rule out the possibility of releasing her long-simmering solo record. “I don’t know if I’m gonna put [the new music out] under my name yet or if it’s going to be perfect for the Dolls,” she said. “It doesn’t matter. I just want to make great music for the fans. It’s going to be popular music, but I’m definitely going with [a] more rock, soul-inspired sound.” What do you think of the new PCD lineup news? GM’s Hummer running out of gas

Each day last week seemed to bring more news about the fate of the Hummer, America's polluting elephant in the room. Early in the week it seemed that an obscure Chinese machinery company called Sichuan Tengzhong would buy the General Motors marquee for $150 million. But as it turned out, Tengzhong couldn't get its act together. Chinese banks withdrew lending offers and American banks are weary of getting involved. Tengzhong even tried to go through a subsidiary outside China to buy Hummer, according to Chinese media. “The deal is on the ropes, if it’s not on the canvas yet,” Michael Dunne, the president of a Hong Kong auto consulting firm told The New York Times.

Pelosi says they’ve got the votes

After last week's fun-to-watch but little-accomplishing bipartisan health care summit, it seems the Democrats are just going to move forward without the GOP. The Administration is apparently in favor of having the House pass the Senate version of the bill – which would not require going back to face the possibility of a filibuster. And Nancy Pelosi says she's got the votes in the House to do it. The Republicans have demanded that the Democrats just scrap the whole thing and start over. That was after multiple entreaties from the Obama Administration to find compromise. So, the Dems will go it alone – despite the danger it poses for some of their embattled Congressional colleagues in the upcoming midterm elections. From the Washington Post: “As Democrats fanned out on television to bolster their party's prospects for passing health-care legislation, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said it will require “courage” from members of her party. “Why are we here? We're not here just to self-perpetuate our service in Congress,” she said on ABC's “This Week.” “We're here to do the job for the American people; to get them results that give them not only health security but economic security, because the health issue is an economic issue for America's families.” Link: http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/02/28/AR2010022803243…. Sade Holds #1 Billboard Spot In Week Two

Rihanna’s ‘Rude Boy’ boosts Rated R in slow sales week. By Gil Kaufman Sade’s Soldier of Love Photo: Epic Sade ‘s fans have clearly missed her. Soldier of Love, her first album since 2000, hangs onto the #1 spot for a second week on the Billboard 200 charts. That’s despite a drop to 190,000 copies sold, 62 percent less than its debut week, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan. Even with that drop-off, Sade was able to hold off former #1 Lady Antebellum , whose Need You Now slipped 31 percent in week four to 144,000, pushing the country group over the 1 million mark in just one month. The rest of the top 10 are the Black Eyed Peas ‘ The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) (#3, 65,000), Lady Gaga ‘s Fame (#4, 63,000), Lil Wayne ‘s Rebirth (#5, 58,000), Susan Boyle ‘s I Dreamed a Dream (#6, 51,000), Alicia Keys ‘ The Element of Freedom (#7, 39,000), Jaheim ‘s Another Round (#8, 36,000), Josh Turner ‘s Haywire (#9, 33,000) and Taylor Swift ‘s Fearless (#10, 32,000). Rihanna ‘s latest single, “Rude Boy,” appears to have boosted her prospects, as Rated R jumps 17 slots to #18 on sales of 25,000, and its total sales nearly reach 664,000. Meanwhile, former boyfriend Chris Brown ‘s Graffiti continues to struggle, stalling out at #117 on sales of just over 5,000, with less than 300,000 in sales to date. The only debut in the top 40 came from Winter Olympics opening ceremony crooner k.d. lang , whose compilation Recollection bows at #36 on sales of 15,000. Nick Jonas & the Administration ‘s Who I Am continues its freefall, dropping more than 20 spots to #51, as sales were halved to 12,000. That’s not as steep as the cliff that the Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds Live in Las Vegas album drove off of, plummeting 49 spots in week two to #66 (9,000), as 75 percent of sales dried up. Things aren’t likely to pick up much next week: The only major chart debuts will be from late country icon Johnny Cash and punkers Alkaline Trio . Related Artists Sade Lady Antebellum

Andrew Koenig’s Family Asks For Help Finding Missing Actor

Former ‘Growing Pains’ co-star was last seen February 14. By Josh Wigler Andrew Koenig Photo: IMDB Andrew Koenig has been missing for 11 days , and now the “Growing Pains” actor’s parents are reaching out to the public for help in finding their son. Walter Koenig and Judy Levitt Koenig appeared on “The Today Show” Wednesday (February 24) morning, marking their first network television interview since Andrew disappeared on February 14. “It’s very, very tough,” said Walter, best known for playing Pavel Chekov on the original “Star Trek” television series, about his son’s disappearance. “He was very depressed about his life.” “He is very much loved and beloved in this world,” Judy added. “I just hope he gets that feeling.” Andrew was last seen on February 14 by his friend Jenny Magenta, who revealed on “Today” that she hasn’t seen him since going to sleep that evening. “That night I went to bed, and in the morning he was gone,” she said, adding that Koenig left her a note in the morning. “But it just [said], ‘Thank you, from Andrew.’ Nothing [else].” Since his disappearance, Andrew’s friends, family and former colleagues have voiced their concern and support in a multitude of ways including prepared statements and informal pleas on Twitter. While his whereabouts remain unknown, law enforcement officials say that they’re starting to receive some leads. “We’ve had tips that he was seen at an Olympics venue last night, so the tips are coming in,” Constable Tim Fanning of Vancouver revealed to “Today,” adding that so far, “nothing has been solid.” With so much time having passed since Andrew’s disappearance, some are starting to fear the worst. “I don’t want to think that way,” said Walter when asked if he’s contemplated the possibility that his son has died. “I’m trying very hard not to think that way.” For now, the Koenig family is holding on to as much hope as they reasonably can, with Andrew’s sister Danielle offering her own thoughts on the situation directly and lovingly: “He’s just a loving, sweet man, and we just want him back.”

Khloe Kardashian: Anti Birth Control, Possibly Pro Sex Tapes

Forget the Kim Kardashian engagement watch. We need to get the Khloe Kardashian pregnancy ticker going. The recently-married reality star tells Steppin’ Out magazine (the same publication that published this gruesome photo of Hailey Glassman) that she and Lamar Odom aren’t trying to get pregnant, but… “I’m not on the pill… I’m not sitting here staring at an ovulation calendar. I’m not saying to Lamar, ‘Okay, it’s time, let’s go!’ But people stir my words around. Let’s just say sometimes I talk too much.” You don’t need too go far for an example: On a recent episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians , Khloe said she might make a solo sex tape for Odom. She has now sort of clarified those remarks, while still teasing the possibility. “It’s called a love tape,” Khloe said. “I don’t do sex tapes! Although, with my husband, I can’t say what I will or will not do in the future. I won’t know until I’m in that moment.” In other words: she might do a sex tape. As for sister Kourtney’s roller coaster relationship with Scott Disick, Khloe says: “Their relationship is definitely very different than mine. Mine is much smoother. I don’t know if it’s because we’re still so new… But whatever their relationship is, it definitely works for them. They like that. I could never have a relationship like that.” Neither could Kourtney and Scott, of course. Each of their fights is scriped by E! and a team of writers.
