Sony’s Promises Less Arrogance

According to Sony’s SCEA VP of Marketing, Peter Dille, the company is not going to be arrogant anymore… or, more accurately, it’s marketing and advertising for the PlayStation 3 will shy away from arrogance. Like remember those weird PS3 ads with the baby in the white room? We’re probably not going to be seeing more like that.

HTC HD2 Iphone Trade-In Promo by T-Mobile USA

T-Mobile USA is offering Apple’s smartphone subscribers and users from AT&T by offering $100 when they buy an HD2 and trade in their iPhone. The HTC HD2 sells for $200 with a two-year contract or $450 without a contract. The prices are reduced to $100 or $350 by trading in an iPhone. The offer is good from now until May 19. All iPhone models are apparently covered, but the device has to be functional. Customers are not required to buy service to qualify. Here is a brief head to head comparison fo the HTC HD2 vs the iPhone if you consumers are thinking of buying into T-Mobile USA’s limited offer. HTC HD2 vs. Apple iPhone 3GS -Both the smartphones have web browsers, email software, and audio and video players. Windows Mobile on the HTC HD2 is bundled with a smartphone version of Microsoft Office, allowing users to work with Word, Excel and PowerPoint files while on the go. -While there are thousands of third-party Windows Mobile apps available, the collection is dwarfed by the 150,000+ iPhone apps. -Both the device have tablet shapes, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS receivers and 3.5 mm headset jacks. -HTC HD2 has 4.3-inch WVGA touchscreen. The iPhone 3GS has a 3.5-inch, HVGA touchscreen. Both are capacitive with multi-touch support. -The HD2 also has a 1 GHz processor vs. the iPhone 3GS’s 600 MHz one. -iPhone has its upcoming Apple iPhone OS 4.0 software upgrade that still hasn’t disclosed new features, while consumer interest in Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro is lackluster at best. -The iPhone depends on built-in storage (16 GB or 32 GB depending on model), while the HD2 is bundled with a 16 GB microSD memory card that can be swapped with other cards as necessary. -The HTC model has a 5.0 megapixel camera, while Apple’s is 3.0 megapixels. Ricky Martin Comes Out as "Fortunate Homosexual"

Ricky Martin, who has dodged questions of his sexuality for years now, officially revealed that he is a gay man in a statement on his website earlier today. The Puerto Rican singer,, who is planning to write a memoir about his life, says the birth of his twin sons (via surrogate) led to his decision to come out. Ricky’s kids were born in August 2008, and similar to Clay Aiken, he says he did not want to live a lie while raising a child … in Ricky’s case two of them. His coming out statement is well-written and at times poignant. You have to respect the honesty and emotion behind it, along with Martin’s reasoning … “A few months ago I decided to write my memoirs, a project I knew was going to bring me closer to an amazing turning point in my life. From the moment I wrote the first phrase I was sure the book was the tool that was going to help me free myself from things I was carrying within me for a long time. Things that were too heavy for me to keep inside. Writing this account of my life, I got very close to my truth. And this is something worth celebrating. For many years, there has been only one place where I am in touch with my emotions fearlessly and that’s the stage. Being on stage fills my soul in many ways, almost completely. It’s my vice.

Reality star, best-selling author, grating spouse and mother of eight Kate Gosselin is 35 today. Happy birthday to the reverse mulleted pride of the Keystone State! It’s difficult to believe that less than a year ago, Kate was merely half of Jon & Kate Plus 8 … or one tenth of it, if you want to look at it that way. You get the idea. But ever since Jon Gosselin was outed as a cheater and their marriage imploded, Kate Gosselin not only became a household name, but one America rallied around. Well, at least mostly.
