Raven Symone returns to the small screen tonight in the premiere of her new sitcom “State of Georgia” on the ABC Family Channel. Raven stars as Georgia Chamberlain, an aspiring southern actress out to make it big in New York City. The series also stars Majandra Delfino as Jo, her trusted best friend and Loretta Devine as Aunt Honey who shares with them her wit and Southern wisdom. Film Fest premiere of the August horror pic Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark succumbed to an unfortunate series of annoyances — a fire alarm temporarily evacuated the theater midway through, while chaos reigned at the post-screening cell phone check — producer and co-writer Guillermo del Toro emphasized what, hopefully, will make Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark memorable: Its ” pervasive scariness ,” so terrifying that the MPAA deemed it too frightening for its intended rating.

But Mariah Carey teased fans on Twitter Sunday with a fabulous snapshot of her baby daughter Monroe. “This is baby Monroe saying ‘no pictures dahhhhling’ at 7+1/2 weeks,” Carey wrote beneath a photo of her little girl’s hand, raised as if she were trying to shield her glamorous self from a pack of would-be paparazzi. “Oh dear.” Pretty funny: Perhaps Monroe’s dad, Nick Cannon, wasn’t kidding when he described Monroe and her twin brother Moroccan, born on their anniversary in April. “My son is laid back like me,” he said. “My daughter’s a diva like her mom! When my daughter wants something, she’ll let you know immediately.” Hey, it’s hard to blame the little gal. Sometimes when the celebrity gossip media gets too close, you gotta set up boundaries early.

Insiders confirm to TMZ that Natalie Kenly recently walked out on Charlie Sheen, officially leaving the actor’s Goddess cupboard as bare as his job prospects. It sounds like Brooke Mueller might take Sheen back , though. Sheen didn’t respond to the split well, sources say , demanding Kenly return the Mercedes he bought her and telling pals such a break-up is “not a common thing for the Masheen!” The actor has remained relatively quiet over the past couple months, putting his Los Angeles home up for sale and, reportedly, entering into negotiations for a new sitcom .
