He may have spent months on the American Idol stage, earning millions of votes in order to be crowned the 11th champion in series history, but Phillip Phillips is not anxious for a break. Speaking to reporters for the first time since undergoing kidney surgery , the singer said he’s sick of recovery and excited to perform in front of fans this summer on tour. “I’ve kind of been going crazy just looking at the four walls surrounding me,” Phillips said, adding that he loves to sleep, but he’s ready to be active once again. Phillips has mostly just been “resting and recovering” since the June 7 procedure, but he can pick up a guitar now, which bodes well for his presence at the July 6 tour opener in Detroit. “I’m pretty confident,” he says of joining the nine other Idol finalists as they visit various cities over the next couple months. “I’m just going to have fun with it … It’s going to go well, I believe.”

Justin Bieber very nearly created a state of emergency simply by appearing in Oslo, Norway yesterday. But the young artist did send multiple fans to the hospital, sources confirm to TMZ, 14 of whom were taken by ambulance for emergency care because they either lost all control upon seeing Bieber or got so caught up in the street stampede that his presence elicited. Justin Bieber in Norway!!! Said Mayor Fabian Stang, unhappy with how his city handled the chaos: “I have already called on the Emergency Planning Agency to examine the entire event from the planning stage to its implementation. We have to find out what went wrong and why it happened.” That’s easy to explain, Mr. Mayor. It happened because of Justin Bieber. Enough said. The Los Angeles County Coroner has released the official cause of death for Whitney Houston. According to the report, the singer passed away due to an “accidental drowning” that was related to heart disease and also the presence of cocaine in her system. An insider tells TMZ that it’s “very possible” the heart attack caused Whitney to pass out and fall under the water. It’s also likely this was triggered by the use of cocaine. It should be noted, however, that no cocaine was found in the hotel room where Houston passed away. Law enforcement officials have said from the beginning that no foul play was involved in the tragedy and nothing in this report suggests anything different. Perhaps now folks such as Nancy Grace can let Whitney rest in peace.

But I felt this overwhelming guilt. Why would I feel guilt at the idea of going out and having cocktails with friends?” With an inkling that something was a little off, the 31-year-old Simpson took a home pregnancy test – and discovered she was expecting with fiance Eric Johnson. Instantly, her life changed. “I’m a free-spirited girl, but giving up my scotch? My Macallan 18? That was hard for me!” she says.

The ladies in Chris Brown’s life, girlfriend, Karreuche Tran, and ex-girlfriend, Rihanna, may or may not be trading social media barbs in an escalating public feud. Either way, he’s loving life these days. Maybe it’s a welcome distraction in Brown’s life now, with the iPhone theft investigation and all. Maybe it’s just nice to have his ego stroked. Maybe both. In any case, Brown and Rihanna have reportedly been hooking up for months, despite him dating Karreuche Tran … called “ an open relationship ” by some. However, (perceived) trouble began when Rihanna tweeted a photo of a bag of rice cakes with gold earrings, and the caption, “Ima a make u my bitch.” Some interpreted that as a racial jab at Karrueche Tran , who is Vietnamese. Maybe she was just hungry after a show? Who knows. But in return, the aspiring model fired off several missives on Facebook aimed directly at Rihanna. In one, she wrote : “Let me clear the air, if you have fenty at the end of ya name or your default Is Rihanna you have a better chance of winning the lottery than ending up on my friends list.” BAM. Oh, but it continues. Just to be sure Rihanna (and/or the general public) got the message, Tran wrote: “I’m Angeline [sic], you’re Jen. C’mon you see where Brad is at.” Meanwhile, Brown is loving every minute of this. “This is all very flattering to Chris. Name me a 21-year-old red blooded male that wouldn’t love having two women fighting over him,” a source said. NOTE: We can’t actually find a Karrueche Tran Facebook page that looks authentic, or any proof of Rihanna egging her on. So interpret this as you will. Given the suggestive nature of Brown’s collaborations with Rihanna , and the fact that he was at her birthday party, you do have to wonder, however …

NBC announced today that The Voice will crown its season two champion on a two-hour live episode airing May 8. Moreover, the competition will expand to twice/week beginning on April 2, as performance episodes will air on Mondays and will be followed by one-hour result shows on Tuesday nights at 9 EST. In other network programming news, Howard Stern will debut as a judge on America’s Got Talent a week after The Voice signs off. Jonny Manfre, a.k.a. The Unit, is making his presence felt in the new season of Jersey Shore – for better or worse. So who is the Situation’s right-hand, pot-stirring man? On the Season 5 premiere of the MTV hit, the gang returned from Italy to a welcome home bash in Seaside. Snooki’s BFF Ryder and The Unit were among the attendees. It got awkward fast. Not only did Ryder ride The Unit at some point, but Jonny M. also witnessed the alleged Snooki-Situation hookup – to Mike’s everlasting delight. Because we know you’re DYING to know, here are some fun Unit facts: He’s Mike’s BFF. Seriously. Two peas in a PED-enhanced pod. He is dating a girl named Amia Miley (pictured) somehow: The Unit, a Situation original nickname, refers to what you think it does. Gross. He allegedly smushed Ryder while Snooki served Sitch right next to him. Gross. Unit joined Mike’s plot to fake rat out Snooki to Jionni just for fun in Season 4. He was arrested outside the Seaside house during Season 5 with a “mysterious powdery white substance” and faces drug possession charges as a result. He was recently, and still may be, in a relationship with an “award-winning porn actress.” Sigh. Huge letdown for you ladies out there, we’re sure.

Bachelor train wreck Vienna Girardi ripped off her microphone and walked off the set of Relationship Rehab last week after producers shocked her by having her ex show up . No, not Jake Pavelka, though that would’ve done the trick too. Vienna and boyfriend Kasey Kahl, her Bachelor Pad partner in crime and the second half of the world’s douchiest couple were hammering out their issues on the show. Of course they were. But, things got awkward on Relationship Rehab (a new show debuting soon on VH1) when she was blindsided by the arrival of … Lee Smith . For those who don’t keep tabs on Vienna Girardi – we’re actually jealous of you – Lee dated V before she went on The Bachelor and got engaged to Pavelka. Lee is also the guy she was allegedly sending flirty emails to – and exchanging bodily fluids with, according to him – while she was still engaged to Pavelka. In any case, it got ugly last week. Vienna had an emotional breakdown and walked off the show, screaming at producers that she “hates” them. Ouch!! She hasn’t been back since and the show has finished shooting. It’s unclear if she violated her contract by ditching the show early, or if anyone cares, but you have to love that Vienna was surprised by such a move. She’s not smart.
