[ VIDEO ] Hmmm, I wonder what this says about his presidency. A disturbed 17 News Facebook friend posted picture taken in the bathroom of a restaurant in Bakersfield. It shows a sticker, with a picture of the President, firmly affixed to a porcelain potty. Some think he’s a political whiz, but perhaps this isn’t what they had mind. “It’s a cartoon. It’s a parody. It’s humor,” said customer Dave Nance…. Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : It’s My Mind Discovery Date : 03/09/2011 17:21 Number of articles : 2

Freshman Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) staked out a bold position Tuesday when he announced on the senate floor that he would object to all “ unanimous consent” agreements until Democrats initiate debate on a budget resolution. It is a decisive move (essentially a permanent filibuster) that could seriously disrupt the Senate calendar and ultimately bring the chamber to a standstill if neither side relents…. As tempting as it is to answer the title question with the words “Rick Scott”, it goes back farther than Scott and paints a picture of what this country would look like if Republicans were able to win back the Presidency in 2012. Three stories today highlight Florida’s decline. Education Florida’s school voucher program was a Jeb Bush special, passed in 2006. John Edwards Mug Shot: Always a Politician …

Once a politician, always a politician. Look at that handsome, smiling face. Going by these images, you’d never expect that former U.S. Senator John Edwards knocked up mistress Rielle Hunter while his wife was terminally ill, lied about it repeatedly, then allegedly covered it up with campaign funds. But, here we are. Nice to see John Edwards is still having fun . Edwards pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and campaign law violations. These mug shots were obtained by CNN . Goooo Freedom of Information Act! The plea came after a grand jury indicted him on six counts, including conspiracy, issuing false statements and violating campaign finance laws. The grand jury had been investigating whether money given to support Rielle Hunter by benefactors of Edwards’ 2008 run for the presidency. Their conclusion was that there was enough evidence to charge Edwards, who insists that despite his personal failings, he did not break the law . A plea deal between Edwards and the U.S. Justice Department fell apart over the the DOJ’s requirement that Edwards go to jail. He declined. Guess he’ll roll the dice at trial, where his chances of beating the rap are iffy. In the court of opinion, however, he’s long since been convicted.

Ivory Coast War Update: Laurent Gbagbo Captured In Heavy Showdown

They were finally able to capture Gbagbo: After a week of heavy fighting, forces backing Ivory Coast’s internationally recognized leader on Monday arrested strongman Laurent Gbagbo who had refused to leave the presidency despite losing elections more than four months earlier. The dispute over the presidency had pushed the world’s largest cocoa producer to the brink of a renewed civil war, with hundreds of civilians slain in postelection violence. An eyewitness at the Golf Hotel where election winner Alassane Ouattara had been trying to run the presidency said he saw Gbagbo, his wife and son enter the hotel around midday Monday. The witness spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. The long-awaited development came after French military forces in this former French colony deployed tanks Monday for the first time near a bunker at the presidential residence where Gbagbo had reportedly been holed up with his family. Speaking on Ouattara’s private television station, Prime Minister Guillaume Soro said Gbagbo gave up when troops loyal to Ouattara entered Gbagbo’s compound. The station broadcast images of a serene Gbagbo sitting on his bed. It was not immediately clear if the images were made immediately after his capture. A senior adviser to Ouattara said it was Ivorian forces who arrested Gbagbo and that French forces were on the perimeter. Cmdr. Frederic Daguillon, the French forces spokesman in Abidjan, said “there wasn’t one single French soldier at the residence of Laurent Gbagbo.” Ouattara’s radio station confirmed Gbagbo’s arrest. Official word first came from the French Embassy in Abidjan. “It’s a victory … considering all the evil that Laurent Gbagbo inflicted on Ivory Coast,” Ouattara’s ambassador to France, Ali Coulibaly, said on France-Info radio. He emphasizing that the man in power for a decade would be “treated with humanity.” Source

Diddy Says President Obama Needs To ‘Do Better’

Diddy spent a lot of time getting people to Ci-roc the vote and get president Obama in office. In a recent interview with Source magazine, he weighed in on President Obama’s performance thus far. Our favorite mouthbreather, music mogul Sean Combs, is featured on the Source magazine’s Feb/March 2011 cover. Source: What’s your assessment of President Obama thus far? Diddy: “I love the president like most of us. I just want the president to do better. There’s a difference between us voting for somebody and us believing in somebody. He’s the person that we believed in so I pray night and day that he understands how God ordained his presidency. I feel there was a promise made to God to look after people that was less fortunate, and [many] of those people are African-American…” We wouldn’t consider him a political expert but he’s entitled to his opinion. While he’s giving advice about doing things better, he might want to start with Dirty Money. Source
