His family says American Airlines just didn’t want a kid with Down’s Syndrome in first class! A California family says they were kicked off a cross-country American Airlines flight because their 16-year-old son has Down syndrome. Joan and Robert Vanderhorst, of Bakersfield, Calif., were flying from Newark to Los Angeles on Sunday when they were told their son, Bede, posed a “flight risk.” Joan Vanderhost pulled out her cell phone and started recording the incident, in which Bede is seen quietly playing with his hat and an American Airlines official warns that she was prohibited from filming “in a security controlled area.” Vanderhost is heard sobbing on the video, telling the airline official that her family is being “singled out.” “He’s behaving. He’s demonstrating he’s not a problem,” Robert Vanderhorst calmly said. The family, who had upgraded their tickets to first class, were denied boarding and forced to rebook in coach seats on a later United Airlines flight. The Vanderhorsts told KTLA they intend to sue the airline for violating Bede’s civil rights and the Americans With Disabilities Act. But American Airlines stood behind its decision to remove Bede from the flight, telling the Daily News on Tuesday that Bede was “agitated” in the waiting area. “Asking the family to take the next flight was a decision that was made with careful consideration and that was done based on the behavior of the teen,” the airline said. “Our customer service team worked with the Vanderhorst family and the EWR [Newark airport] team, as well as the crew, tried to get Bede comfortable. Unfortunately, the crew determined he was still agitated.” The airline would not confirm to the Daily News if other passengers had witnessed Bede’s “agitation.” The Vanderhorsts said the pilot and crew never spoke with them or their son and they believe the airline didn’t want a person with Down syndrome in first class. “We were not allowed on the plane because they saw my son and made a decision,” Joan Vanderhorst said. Nicki might not be the only Black Republican . A December 2010 Gallup Poll pointed out that blacks are conservative on most moral issues, almost as conservative as Republicans . The following are some of the ideas that make blacks as conservative as Republicans on social issues: 1. 31% of blacks said that homosexuality is morally acceptable while 30% of Republicans said the same. 61% of non-black Democrats agreed that homosexuality is morally acceptable. 2. 46% of both blacks and Republicans believe that sex between an unmarried male and female is morally acceptable as opposed to 68% of non-black Democrats. 3. 37% of blacks said that abortion is morally acceptable and 25% of Republicans agreed with them. 54% of non-black Democrats agreed that abortion is morally acceptable. 4. 30% of blacks agreed that same sex marriages should be recognized by law as valid, 22% of Republicans concurred. 57% of non-black Democrats also agreed. Overall, blacks are more closely aligned with Republicans morally verses their non-black Democratic counterparts. Furthermore, blacks are more religious and go to church more often than either Republicans or non-black Democrats. In church attendance 76% of blacks attend weekly services and 67% of Republicans attend weekly. The elections are upon us again, will blacks still support the Democrats and President Obama? If Blacks never vote for Republicans, why would they ever listen to our concerns? Also, if we always vote for Democrats no matter if they fulfill their promises or not, why should they listen? Simply put, according to the insider: “They will kill him if he gets back with Kristen.” Lizzy and Victoria feel awful for their sibling, and they want to see Rob happy, but they are “pretty unforgiving over Kristen’s actions,” this source says, adding: “They believe Robert should embrace singledom, throw himself into work and not consider settling down with anyone until he’s ready.” Sounds like a logical plan to us, and it’s one Pattinson appears prepared to follow. He is reportedly selling the house he shared with Stewart and may even move to London . The feature documentary had a limited roll out in Texas and other locations in mid-July, but after expanding to additional screens in the lead-up to the Republican convention, it has reaped more than $10.5 million to date at the box office. (The doc is second only, so far, to Katy Perry: Part of Me , which has earned in excess of $25.3 million domestically, as the top non-fiction film of the year.) Those box-office numbers could get a boost now that the anti-Obama doc has scored a high-power endorsement from conservative media mogul Rupert Murdoch. The embattled News Corp. chairman gave 2016: Obama’s America his thumbs up via Twitter, even as questions arise about the veracity of the film’s assertions. Murdoch said via a Tweet : Just saw 2016. Truly scary if no answer. Every voter should see and decide for self what future they want for America. Obama’s America is based on Dinesh D’Souza’s 2010 New York Times -best selling book The Roots of Obama’s Rage . D’Souza and John Sullivan co-directed and co-wrote the film, and the filmmakers said that Murdoch asked for a screener of the film, according to The Hollywood Reporter . The elder Obama’s views, according to D’Souza, explain why President Obama rejects “American Exceptionalism” and why the author-filmmaker believes he is aiming to “re-shape America” by reducing the U.S.’s overall global reach and influence. According to the AP, 2016: Obama’s America also asserts the president’s views were reinforced by his upbringing in Hawaii, which was effectively annexed by the U.S. after the overthrow of its monarchy in the 1890s. Obama’s father left his family when Barack was just 2 years old and visited only once when the future president was was 10, the AP reports , but D’Souza’s film argues that this absence actually reinforced the son’s ties to his father, who died in a car accident when Obama fils was in college. D’Souza interviews NYU psychologist Paul Vitz who studies the impact of absent fathers. Vitz says the void meant that “he has the tension between the Americanism and his Africanism. He himself is an intersection of major political forces in his own psychology.” 2016 also delves into a host of issues ranging from the Federal Deficit to Obama’s supposed “weirdly sympathetic” leanings to Muslim jihadists. While the debt has grown by $16 trillion under Obama, the film fails to mention the 2008 global financial crisis that preceded it under his predecessor, George W. Bush. Michele Bachmann said President Barack Obama can’t relate to “the common man” because of his extreme wealth, failing to note that GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney is worth hundreds of millions more. “President Obama is extremely wealthy,” Bachmann said when USA Today asked how someone with “vast wealth” could connect to the American public. “He and his wife have been wealthy for a number of years, and so I think that’s really the issue. President Obama is wealthy–what does he understand about the common man right now?” According to financial disclosure reports released by the White House in May, the Obama’s hold assets worth between nearly $2.6 million and nearly $8.3 million. Mitt Romney Says He’s ‘Villified’ By Obama Campaign Presidential campaign season is nearing the end and in case you hadn’t noticed, Money Mitt and his GOP goons are going harder in the paint than ever before . Despite badly trailing President Obama in terms of which candidate voters find more likable, Mitt Romney says he’s not going to try to win over people through personality. “I know there are some people who do a very good job acting and pretend they’re something they’re not,” Romney told Politico in an article published Monday. “You get what you see. I am who I am.” At the same time, Romney went back to his college days to show that people do like him. ““I was voted the president of my fraternity,” he said. “They don’t call them fraternities at Brigham Young University. They’re called Service Clubs. It was the Cougar Club. But you don’t get voted to be head of your group if you don’t get along with people, if you don’t connect with people.” In speaking with Politico and USA Today on the eve of the convention, Romney continued to suggest the president has unfairly attacked him personally. “I do think that the president’s campaign of personal vilification and demonization probably draws some people away from me,” Romney told USA Today. When the paper pressed Romney on why he noted in a speech in Michigan last week that “no one has ever asked to see my birth certificate,” in what sounded like a nod to the false claims by some conservatives that the president was not born in the United States, Romney said he was simply being “human” and “spontaneous.” Earlier on in this same speech, Mitt also made a reference to BET head honcho Debra Lee as a an example of success…….although he “couldn’t remember her name.” SMH.
