Four years ago, Sarah Palin was a serious contender to become the next Vice President of the United States. Now, she’s reading celebrity gossip at KMart. At the retail establishment with her second-oldest daughter Willow, Sarah decided to check out the latest edition of the National Enquirer as the paparazzi watched. The tabloid, of course, features Bristol Palin on its cover. The title of the cover story: “Plastic Surgery Shockers.” Despite sporting a remarkable, almost unrecognizably different-looking face since 2009, the Dancing With the Stars hopeful has denied plastic surgery in the past. Regardless of whether she had work done, that’s a scary cover. Sarah must be so proud of her little girl’s inclusion on it, alongside her old foe Katie Couric. Jon Stewart took on Bill O’Relly in The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium last night, a debate between the Comedy Central and Fox News host held at George Washington University. And, unlike the actual Presidential Debate , both sides actually showed up this time. Among the topics tackled between the political frenemies: Stewart on Fox News viewers : “I believe any time where you run an organization where more people believe the President is a Muslim than believe in Evolution, it’s a problem.” O’Reilly on U.S, treatment of veterans : “Stewart and I are simpatico on this. We gotta do whatever we can for the military guys when they come home. They had it rough over there, in Afghanistan and Iraq. We shouldn’t have gone into Iraq, we had to go into Afghanistan.” Stewart on food stamps : “Why is it that if you take advantage of a tax break, you’re a smart businessman, but if you take advantage of something you need to not be hungry, you’re a moocher?” O’Reilly : “We won the war on Christmas.’ But who won this debate. Kate Gosselin doesn’t blame reality TV for her marriage collapsing. The mother of eight told Katie Couric that she and Jon Gosselin would’ve split up eventually, regardless of whether they signed on for TLC’s Jon & Kate Plus 8. “A lot of people try to pin reality TV and say, ‘My gosh. It ended in divorce. Big surprise.’ We went through a lot. The signs were always there,” Kate said on Katie . “Obviously having eight kids in a short span of time didn’t help that.” “I’m not at all blaming my kids, I’m just saying. The red flags were there. So looking back, had you never heard of Jon and Kate Gosselin , I’m certain I would be in that spot now.” “It’s hard because like any mom I just want the best for my kids.” Kate, 37, and Jon Gosselin, 35, finalized their divorce in December 2009 after ten years of marriage. Things have been combative, off and on, ever since. Most recently, he has been accused of stealing her hard drive and giving it to the author of a new tell-all book slamming Kate (the author denies Jon was involved). Jon & Kate Plus 8 feels like an eternity ago, but Kate says she’s open to the idea of returning to reality TV and dating – ideally both at the same time! “After a few years in realizing my barriers to dating and all of that and loving TV and the experiences … I just feel like honestly, yes, that was my idea,” she says. “I would do it (so) it could be watched by families and my children. But the singer didn’t always believe that when she looked in the mirror, admitting in a new VH1 Behind the Music interview that she battled bulimia for many years. “I just hated myself,” Scherzinger says in the special. “I really was so disgusted with myself and so embarrassed. I felt so alone. I was in a group, and I never felt so alone in my life.” These days, the artist is anything but alone. Many stars, including Lady Gaga , have been calling attention to the plague of eating disorders across the country. The former X Factor judge says she struggled with her body image for eight years. She was especially affected by the skimpy outfits she donned as a member of The Pussycat Dolls. “Every time I had a second to be alone, I was doing something to myself,” she says in the following video. “You get, like, blisters on your hands or scars on your hands, and I’d try to hide those. Christina Aguilera was honored this week for … hey, her eyes are up here, Hillary! Earlier this week, while President Barack Obama was getting drubbed in a debate with Mitt Romney , the U.S. Secretary of State was honoring The Voice judge. Not just for her curve-tastic body, either, despite the photo below suggests: Clinton was on hand for the 11th annual George McGovern Leadership Award ceremony, held at the U.S. Department of State, and Xtina was an honoree. Why? Aguilera, as an Ambassador Against Hunger for the United Nations World Food Program, has helped raise nearly $115 million (not a typo) for the organization. All under the radar, too. Way to go, Christina, that is truly an eye-popping feat. On a side note, Bill Clinton is insanely jealous of his wife right now.
