This news comes as DeSantis continues to deny that he’s a racist, despite multiple incidents that suggest otherwise. For example, less than 24 hours after winning his party’s nomination, DeSantis blew a racist dog whistle when he warned voters not to “monkey this up” by electing his rival, Mayor Andrew Gillum , who is African-American. DeSantis is far from the only Republican to defend slavery by downplaying its evils. Roy Moore , Alabama’s unsuccessful GOP candidate for U.S. Senate, told a Black audience member at a 2017 rally that America was last great during slavery, according to the Washington Post . “I think it was great at the time when families were united — even though we had slavery — they cared for one another,” Moore said. Disgraced Fox News political commentator Bill O’Reilly defended the working conditions for the slaves who built the White House. “Slaves that worked there were well fed and had decent lodgings provided by the government, which stopped hiring slave labor in 1802,” he stated. Even Black Republicans at times fail to denounce slavery. She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Clemson University. Before becoming governor, Haley served in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Where does she go now after her U.N. gig? Haley has already ruled out a 2020 presidential run. And she’s unlikely to challenge South Carolina’s Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham for his seat, according to The State . “I look forward to supporting the president in the next election,” she said at the press meeting, leaving the door open to perhaps a fulltime position with Trump’s re-election campaign. There was also many job opportunities in the White House, such as replacing White House Chief of Staff John Kelly . If that job doesn’t interest Haley, she could take over whatever projects Ivanka Trump has been working on in the White House. They would, in essence, replace each other—with Ivanka going to the United Nations. Haley has already penned one book, titled Can’t Is Not An Option . She may be planning to write another book—one that could pave the way for a 2024 presidential run. If she’s leaving her post under negative circumstances, there’s also the possibility of a tell all book about the Trump administration. I n less than a month away from the midterm elections, a man who has admitted to not voting or reading books is going to the White House. Yep, after faithfully stroking Trump ‘s ego,  Kanye West  finally got his invite to the White House to stroke 45 in person. See Also: Bill Cosby Sentenced To 3 To 10 Years In Prison For Sexual Assault Conviction Lyin’ Sarah Huckabee Sanders  reportedly said Kanye will have lunch with the president and his son-in-law, Jared Kushner . “West hopes to discuss two key issues during his visit at the White House: job opportunities for ex-convicts and ways to increase manufacturing jobs in and around his hometown of Chicago,”  CNN wrote. Oh, please. In what universe would Kanye West have the ability to talk about those issues when he is a “ proud ” non-reader of books, said he believes that slavery was a choice,  Malcolm X  wasn’t relatable and has r epeatedly admitted to not voting a day in his life ? CNN also reported that “[o]ther topics of discussion will include prison reform, how to prevent gang violence and reducing violence in Chicago, Sanders said.” Maybe Kanye can start with how the president wants to reinforce stop-and-frisk , the unconstitutional police tactic that terrorized the lives of Black and brown people, or his dangerous calls for “more” law and order — a comment he just made a police convention  on Monday. At least when his wife,  Kim Kardashian , visited the White House, she an agenda to get Alice Marie Johnson out of prison. Kanye’s agenda is clearly himself. Moreover, he got the White House visit that Barack Obama wouldn’t give him . Lastly, if you have never voted a day in your life, you should not be sitting in the White House, especially if you are a rich, privileged celebrity who isn’t affected by the consequences of not voting. Troian Bellisario is no longer a Pretty Little Liar. Instead, she’s a proud and excited new mother! About two months after announcing she and husband Patrick J. Adams were expecting their first child, the former ABC Family star has made a rather huge announcement: That child is here! She has given birth! For the first time in her life! The new parent shared a unique picture (below) her baby, keeping nearly every detail about the newborn private, but relaying the following message to her fans and followers: I cannot express how grateful I am. To the people who have protected us and kept our growing family safe and respected our privacy. To our tribe for expanding with grace and exponential amounts of love. To my @halfadams for being so supportive during every moment of my pregnancy and her birth. And to whatever incredible force of fate that brought this baby girl into our lives. I couldn’t be more proud to be her mother. To bring a new girl into this world and to do my best to raise her to be kind, strong and whatever the heck she wants to be. Adams, who departed the USA Network series Suits at the end of Season 7 after his character married the character played by Meghan Markle , also did not divulge the name or gender of his kid. But he managed to make us tear up with a message of his own. Via Instagram, it reads: The world just got 8lbs heavier. Thank you to everyone who fought for and protected our privacy during this incredible and beautiful time in our lives. Everyone is happy and healthy and loving every moment of this. I could not be more excited to bring a baby girl into this world at this moment. We will raise her to be powerful, to always speak her mind and heart and to live without fear. It’s a brand new day and a brave new world and they are both beautiful. Bellisario and Adams got married in December of 2016 after dating for three years. While she and Adams may have quiet about their not-so-little secret, the actress’ close friend and former costar, Lucy Hale, couldn’t help but rave about the her pal’s pregnancy to Us Weekly in August: “I think we’ve all known for a bit,” Hale said a few weeks back. “I’m really happy for her.” Imagine how happy everyone is now that the precious bundle of joy is here! We admire how Adams and Bellisario are choosing not to divulge very much about their son or daughter. We’re not about to press for any further details now or ever; not if they would prefer not to share them. We’d simply like to pass along our best wishes and to send our congratulations. Christina and Tarek El Moussa are over as a couple. But as reality television personalities, they’re just getting started. This summer, we told you that Christina El Moussa is getting her own show in addition to the new season of Flip or Flop . Now, she’s been spotted filming the new series, and we know a lot more about it. The Daily Mail reports that On Wednesday, Christina El Moussa was spotted in Anaheim, California. She was apparently all smiles. The 35-year-old Flip or Flop star and mother of 2 was filming her new show. Christina on the Coast will begin with 8 episodes. This new series follows her as she expands her design business in Southern California. Her goal is to totally transform more outdated properties into “high-end showplaces.” Nice! Fans who are concerned that Christina’s new show will be all business needn’t worry. Earlier this summer, Christina told The Hollywood Reporter that her family is going to play a role. “Each episode is going to show a glimpse into a real life,” Christina assured fans. That will include fans seeing her “selling my home in Yorba Linda, house-hunting and moving into my new place.” “It is going to show me trying to balance it all with kids and work,” Christina says. And, it is expected, fans will also see her real-life romance with boyfriend Ant Anstead . Christina on the Coast will premiere in early 2019. In a statement about the series, Christina set the stage by providing a little context. “The past few years have brought a lot of change into my life,” Christina says. “And,” she continues. “I am so excited to see what the next stage has in store for me both professionally and personally.” “There is so much to look forward to,” Christina concludes. “And this is only the beginning.” Christina and fans aren’t the only ones who are hyped for this new series. HGTV and Food President Allison Page has also spoken about why this show makes so much sense. “Christina’s design style is very popular,” Page says. “So it’s a natural progression for us to expand her visibility with a new series.” “Her fans also are deeply vested in her personal life,” Page understates. “And eager to see what happens next.” Fans are, in fact, deeply invested in the El Moussa family. “So,” Page concludes. “We’re bringing them the opportunity to share in these real-life moments in a way that no one else can.” Tarek El Moussa may be getting his own series, too. Of course, Tarek and Christina are both sticking with Flip or Flop . Despite the drama (Tarek had a gun and Christina feared that he would take his own life) that led to their breakup and ultimately their divorce, they’re working together. For the fans, for the show, and of course, for the money. (There’s nothing wrong with that, folks) Romantically, however, they have both moved on. Of course, their two children remain the centers of their world. Fans don’t need their shows to know that — both Christina and Tarek make that abundantly clear on social media. “Our kinda Sunday Funday,” Christina wrote beside a recent glimpse at a family bike ride. “Loving beach life.” She added: “P.S. T he conservative-leaning Rasmussen Reports claimed that 35 percent of African-Americans approve of President Donald Trump ‘s job performance. Through this survey, the politically biased pollster is supporting Trump’s myth that he’s done a lot for Black people. See Also: Canceled! Millennials Pick Obama As Best President Over Trash-Talking Trump In a report released on Friday, Rasmussen placed Trump’s overall approval rating at 51 percent among likely voters. “This is Trump’s highest Presidential Approval Index rating since early March of last year, shortly after he first took office,” Rasmussen stated. One day earlier, Rasmussen tweeted about the suspiciously high level of Black voter support for the president. The Washington Post called that claim “far-fetched,” given the president’s long history of racial insensitivity. The newspaper pointed out that Gallup surveys have consistently polled African-American approval of Trump at around 10 percent through 2018. This new poll comes as Trump tries to rally his base and help the GOP scrape together as many Black votes as possible to hold on to Congress. At rallies, Trump has been trying to convince people that he’s accomplished great things for African-Americans in his two years in office. Among his claims is that Black median income has reached a high point under his administration. That’s not true, according to the Associated Press . Census Bureau data shows that the median income in 2017 for an African-American household was $40,258. That’s below a 2000 peak of $42,348 and also statistically no better than 2016, which was President Barack Obama ’s last year in office, the AP said. It’s no surprise that Rasmussen appears to help Trump promote the myth of Black support, given its connection with the GOP . To achieve its ends, Rasmussen Reports uses research techniques that make its polls favor Republicans, Ipsos Public Affairs research director Mallory Newall told The Hill . During the investigation, Democrats complained that the GOP directed the agency to conduct a very limited probe, as several other women came forward with allegations similar to Ford’s. By Friday, the Republicans declared that the FBI had not found any corroborating witnesses. In a 50-48 vote, the Senate confirmed Kavanaugh, delivering a major victory for President Donald Trump and conservatives who have long coveted control of the U.S. Supreme Court. “There is no check-and-balance in American government. You have one party now in total control of all three branches of government. You have a one-party rule system. The only thing that will break it up is if some folks come out and vote and at least turn the legislative branch around,” said the Rev. Al Sharpton , founder and president of the National Action Network, on Saturday. Y oungster Mari Copeny hasn’t even entered her teens yet, but she has already left an indelible mark in the realm of social activism. Two years after the now 11-year-old activist brought attention to the Flint water crisis, she will be honored by the toy company Lottie Dolls with her own doll, EBONY reported. Mari Copeny AKA Little Miss Flint was known around Flint, Michigan for her activism. She became a viral star for the letter she wrote to Barack Obama requesting a meeting about the Flint water crisis! Copeny garnered national attention after she penned a letter to former President Barack Obama asking him to meet with her so that they can figure out a solution to overcome the water crisis. “I am one of the children that is effected by this water, and I’ve been doing my best to march in protest and to speak out for all the kids that live here in Flint. This Thursday I will be riding a bus to Washington, D.C. to watch the congressional hearings of our Governor Rick Snyder . I know this is probably an odd request but I would love for a chance to meet you or your wife,” she wrote in the letter, according to the Los Angeles Times .  Copeny, who is known as “Little Miss Flint,” got the opportunity to meet the president in May 2016. Copeny took to Twitter to share the news about the doll’s release. In one terrifying episode , people were ranked and punished by their social credit score, which determined what kind of jobs they could work, where they could live, and the kind of people that would befriend them. Increasing this score meant upgrading your overall existence. IRL, the Chinese will rank its people by the year 2020 and Europe is currently considering the national reputation system as well—so how close are the United States and the UK to implementing a SCS…because quite frankly, it feels like it could be right around the corner. According to ABC Finance Ltd, should this go into effect everywhere “Governmental and financial institutions will monitor your everyday behaviour; ranking the way you spend your money, behave on social media and even who you associate with. This score could affect every aspect of your life, from the seats you can book on a plane to your access to dating sites, priority healthcare and even the school your children can attend.” The commercial finance specialists have been surveying folks in the wake of this disturbing news, and what they found was at least a fourth of the people questioned would be penalized under the credit system for these actions: 30%  had criticized the government on social media. 64%  would refuse to sign up for military service if it was asked of them. 41%  of respondents admitted they’ve been late paying bills. 35% admitted to disobeying traffic laws when driving 66% of respondents said they would change their day-to-day behavior to increase their score. Also interesting is the fact that 75% of those surveyed said they would stop associating with friends if they were lowing their own personal score. Of the incentives to earn a good social credit score, priority healthcare was the most appealing. “Being publicly named and shamed” was the most concerning penalty, according to the survey results—because, of course, people want to do their dirt in private. Other penalties include not being able to get the best jobs, slower internet speeds, and even limited access to public transportation.
