Rick Kern/WireImage Solange Is Being Honored By Harvard Solange has truly had the career of a lifetime, especially in these past few years. Not only did her most recent album, A Seat at the Table, reach number one, but she’s been making her mark with a string of powerful performances at places like the Guggenheim Museum and the Chinati Foundation in Marfa, Texas. Her latest achievement is a big one, too, as it’s been announced that Knowles has been named the 2018 Harvard Artist of the Year. Harvard University chose to honor the artist for using “her platform to advocate for representation and justice while providing constructive and empowering political messages,” which was announced via a press release from the institution. To date, this is the third major award Solange has received for her work. She was previously named Glamour Woman of the Year and before that received the Billboard Impact Award. Solange is set to be recognized and presented with the award at a ceremony on next month, on March 3. The award comes from the Harvard Foundation for intercultural and race relations, which is the university’s office for inter-racial, inter-ethnic and inter-religious relations; They honor the nation’s most acclaimed artists and scientists each year. Neilson Barnard/Getty Images for BET ASAP Rocky Signs Deal With Under Armour The latest celebrity to get their hands on a partnership with an apparel brand is ASAP Rocky. Known now more for his attire and dating life than for his music, Rocky is a great fit for a deal with a clothing brand–and he’s just got his with Under Armour. News of the signing first surfaced in July, and was confirmed by the brand via press release on Friday. The partnership will come via the Under Armour Sportswear line, which aims to help Under Armour’s credibility outside of performance wear. Rocky is the perfect person for a deal with this line in particular, if looking to improve their credibility. The brand caught tons of flack for their shoe collaboration with Steph Curry in the past…because they were more like orthopedic dad shoes than some basketball ones. Rocky’s press release about the partnership is as follows: “I wanted more than a collaboration partner. The only way to achieve this is with someone who is like-minded. The Under Armour team, and especially CEO and founder Kevin Plank, has a shared vision, enthusiasm, and desire to do the same. I grew up in Harlem, and had limited resources to channel my inner-creativity, so I spent too much time on the streets when I should have been more productive. I now have the ability to create a better situation for today’s kids so they can go from school to a safe place to create without boundaries.” Rocky previously had a deal with Adidas where he released sneakers with Jeremy Scott.
This is heartbreaking news. A cancer diagnosis is never good news. Almost every family has gone through the pain of learning that one of their own has this often terminal disease. We’ve all read about various famous people who’ve been diagnosed. Unfortunately, today, we learned about one more. Olivia Newton-John is an absolute legend. She’s supremely talented as a singer and actress. an icon to many members of the LGBT community. She’s also now a cancer patient. She issued a press release on the subject. It’s not the most personal way to share information, but sometimes being straightforward and informative is the best route to take when breaking bad news. And this is the worst kind of news to break. Sometimes, impersonal is best. Olivia Newton-John had to cancel her North American concert dates for June, but this is one set of cancelations that no decent person could bemoan. Apparently they discovered the cancer because she had complained of back pain. Frightening to think that something so innocuous could be how you learn that you have cancer. Specifically, it’s breast cancer that’s metastasized to her sacrum. It’s also a reminder that even the healthiest people can get cancer. A lot of people push the idea that overall wellness can prevent cancer, but disease can come from all sorts of sources, and genetics are a powerful factor when it comes to cancer. Yoga teachers get cancer. Nutritionists get cancer. Marathon runners get cancer. Living legends do, too. Fortunately, there are treatments. Olivia Newton-John intends to undergo a short treatment of photon radiation therapy. From her press release, she sounds optimistic. That can be so important for cancer patients. And there’s reason to hope. Shannen Doherty recently announced that her cancer had gone into remission . Still, her fans from all over the world will be wishing her a swift and easy recovery. It’s a girl for Blac Chyna and Rob Kardashian. And it’s also a new primetime special for the couple. Because of course, right? Mere minutes after news broke that Blac Chyna had given birth to the twosome’s first child together, E! broke a second piece of news related to Rob and Chyna: The network will air the originally-titled Rob & Chyna Baby Special on Sunday, December 18 at 8/7c. We’d say this is the most ridiculous thing we heard all week, but Chyna and Rob also named their daughter Dream . (Oh, and Donald Trump was elected President of the United States.) Earlier in the day, TMZ has reported that cameras were, indeed, inside the hospital, filming various pieces of footage, some of which anger administrators. It’s unclear exactly what will be shown on the upcoming special, but an E! press release makes it sound like we’re about to get to know Blac Chyna extremely well. It says we’ll go “in to the delivery room” during the hour-long airing, adding: “During the special, we see that family and friends are never far away, coming together to support Rob and Chyna as they prepare for the birth of their daughter.” “Scott Disick as well as three of Chyna’s sisters, her dear friend Treasure, and mom Tokyo Toni who fly out from the east coast, celebrate the couple at their chic coed baby shower. “And later, loving and protective mothers Kris Jenner and Tokyo Toni reconnect with each other for the first time in five years at King Cairo’s lavish 4th birthday celebration.” Concludes the release: “Although Rob and Chyna have had turbulent times in their relationship, they face many important decisions head-on as the couple prepares for the birth of their baby. “Together, they decide whether or not it’s best for Chyna to have another c-section, and where the new family should live after the baby is born.” As in… should the live together, consider there’s been talk that Chyna and Rob are not even engaged any longer. Sorry Ms. Jackson, but the Stevie J baby mama drama is for real … and even by that guy’s absurd standards it’s pretty darn spectacular. Think cocaine, fake abortions and backstabbing. Amazing. Just to recap what’s going on in this man’s life briefly first: – After possibly knocking up longtime partner Joseline Hernandez, Stevie J is now suing Joseline for calling him a deadbeat child molester. – He began another serious relationship shortly after he and Joseline called it quits; Stevie was then accused of cheating on Faith Evans . – Stevie is expecting a child with Ms. Jackson (yes, that’s her name), an Atlanta businesswoman whose panties he went all in on this year. Literally and business-wise. See below … We’re not making this up, but it feels like we would be because it’s that ridiculous: Ms. Jackson is the owner of My Pretty Panty undergarments. Underwear for young ladies and “a dope product to help the ladies feel comfortable and oh so pretty during that special time of the month.” The company’s press release promised “Stevie J is all about helping the ladies feel comfortable and My Pretty Panty does just that.” Bottom line: Stevie J was really, legitimately hawking underwear for young girls because he was banging the woman in charge of the operation. Hilarious in and of itself. Unfortunately, but predictably, the relationship has gone downhill fast, and the social media shade they’re throwing is the stuff of legend … The blog Fameolous, the best place for gossip whether you watch Love & Hip Hop Atlanta online or not, was the site of their public beef. The Instagram screen grab above was from Fameolous’ page, and as you can see, Steven Jordan accuses her of some crazy a– s–t. If you believe this, Miss Jackson was doing just as many drugs as Stevie, and faked an abortion with the help of her “raggedy” assistant. He also implies that she is still pregnant, and needs to have positive energy (rather than drugs) flowing through her body at this time. Stevie, who denies that she had anything to do with his previous family drama, then gets an earful back in the drug accusations department. She also called out Joseline, and HARD: Probably the best part of this rant? Besides saying that Stevie is a stalker and a drug addict who hunted her down for years and that his fake ex-wife is an insecure diva? Telling Fameolous not to bother sending the Stevie-related tirade in question to rival Joseline, as this is public and deliberately so at that. Suffice it to say, after all this? Stevie J is not the most popular man in Atlanta right now, although he sure manages to convince that fine city’s women to give it up to him. He then proceeds to move on to somebody else, father another kid or several, while engaging in ongoing online feuds with his exes. And then not pay child support. Miami Cops Plan To Boycott Beyoncé’s Upcoming Formation Tour Beyoncé has picked up a new batch of haters after her Super Bowl 50 halftime performance. The boys in blue are none-too-happy with Bey and after this morning’s news that police in Tampa are planning to boycott her Formation Tour, we now see that other misguided cops are following suit according to HuffingtonPost A police union in Miami voted in favor of all law enforcement officers boycotting Beyonce’s April concert in the city, claiming the singer promoted an anti-police message in her new music video and during her performance at the Super Bowl halftime show. Javier Ortiz, president of Miami Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #20, which represents 1,100 officers, wrote in a press release that he didn’t watch Beyoncé’s performance during halftime “out of respect for our profession.” The performance saluted the 50th anniversary of the Black Panthers and has been criticized by some as anti-police. “The Miami Fraternal Order of Police has voted to have all law enforcement officers boycott Beyoncé’s concert which is being held at the Miami Marlins Stadium on Wednesday, April 26, 2016,” Ortiz said in a statement. “The fact that Beyoncé used this year’s Super Bowl to divide Americans by promoting the Black Panthers and her antipolice message shows how she does not support law enforcement.” The organization urged other law enforcement agencies around the country to do the same. They can boycott all they want, it’s still eff them and it’s STILL #BlackLivesMatter! Besides, what if ISIS shows up to the Beyoncé concert?? We didn't necessarily need another reason to love Jennifer Lawrence . But we'll take it! In the following video, the Oscar-winning actress pledges $2 million to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Kentucky. This generous gift was revealed at a press conference held at the Louisville medical center regarding the facility's plans to redevelop its heart center. The donation will be used for this purpose and also to build a new cardiac ICU. “I’m excited to announce we will be establishing the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Kosair Children’s Hospital,” Lawrence says in the following video message. “As part of my effort to help these children and caregivers, I challenge the entire community to get behind this cause and help match my gift by raising an additional $2 million to support all of these brave and inspiring children.” Last December, Lawrence (a Kentucky native) visited this same medical center for the third year in a row to spread Christmas cheer to young patients. A press release in recognition of this great deed reads: “The Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) will feature private rooms dedicated to children recovering from heart procedures, open heart surgery including heart transplant, heart failure and other conditions requiring intensive care. “The new 14-bed unit will offer space for families to stay with their children. It will be staffed by additional specialists with cardiac critical care training and experience, dedicated nursing staff and other professionals focused solely on heart care.”
Police Chief Thomas Burke agreed to resign Wednesday, Farrell Mayor Olive McKeithan told The (Sharon) Herald (http://bit.ly/21lAUvf ) on Friday. Thomas Burke is out as chief of the newly reconstituted Farrell Police Department over his use of the N-word in an April email. In a press release Friday afternoon, City Manager Michael Ceci wrote that the city administration had “felt it prudent” to afford Burke an opportunity to make a public apology, which took place in a press conference Monday. “

Jenelle and Barbara Evans set up a mediation hearing to try to figure out a custody agreement and what would work best for Jace. That’s what Babs wanted anyway. Jenelle was … classic Jenelle. They couldn’t reach an agreement, meaning the next step is court, and as they met at a restaurant to discuss this, it got pretty heated. “Court will be devastating,” Barbara tried to reason with her. “You can’t just rip him out of everything he’s ever known.” “I should have him full time, not you!” Jenelle responded. It’s unclear if Jenelle has ever seen Teen Mom 2 on MTV. Barbara, incredulous over this after all she’s done, fired back: “This whole thing is about Jace! Finally, Leah Messer’s sad, tumultuous life continued to swirl out of control, or at least evolve constantly in erratically, in West Virginia. The reality star bailed on rehab last week, which left her ex-husband Corey Simms concerned about Leah’s negligent parenting . (Presumably Leah wasn’t being negligent by having sex with Corey Simms in his truck … but that’s a rumor/story for another time.) “I don’t feel comfortable giving my kids to somebody who has a problem that I don’t know what it is,” Simms explained to his attorney. “She has a problem, she’s willing to go to rehab or therapy, then all of a sudden, she comes back and she still has the problem.” “It’s best for Leah to get help, but I want to make sure the girls got all the stuff they need. I want her better for the kids’ sake.” Corey is clearly gearing up to let his ex-wife have it in court if it comes to that, so here’s hoping she gets her act together ASAP. For her sake, and the kids’ sake. Because it could get ugly.
