Mac Miller Dies; Rapper and Ex-Boyfriend of Ariana Grande Was 26

Shocking news out of the music world today, as TMZ reported moments ago that Mac Miller has passed away .  The widely-acclaimed hip hop artist, whose real name was Malcolm James McCormick, was just 26 years old. Though details about Miller’s passing are scarce at the moment, TMZ is reporting that the cause of death appears to be a drug overdose. Miller’s body was found at his home in San Fernando Valley after authorities were contacted by a friend of the rapper’s. He was reportedly pronounced dead on the scene. Though a respected figure on the hip hop scene since the release of his 2011 mixtape “Best Day Ever” and 2012 debut album,  Blue Slide Park , Miller is perhaps best known for his personal life. Most notably, his romantic relationship with pop superstar Ariana Grande.  Miller and Grande began dating  in 2016. The relationship was often described as a whirlwind romance, and the engagement rumors that circulated on multiple occasions were tellingly never denied by either party. Miller dedicated his 2016 album The Divine Feminine to his then-girlfriend and stated in the press that Grande taught him to reflect on the important role that women had played in his life and development. Sadly, in May of 2018, Grande and Miller broke up . According to Grande, his substance abuse played a role in her decision to end the relationship. Shortly after the split, Miller was arrested  for a DUI hit and run after he crashed his G-Wagon and fled the scene on foot. He was later apprehended at his home and blew twice the legal limit on a breathalyzer test. When fans blamed Grande for the Miller’s downward spiral, she pushed back on social media. “I am not a babysitter or a mother and no woman should feel that they need to be,” she tweeted. “I have cared for him and tried to support his sobriety & prayed for his balance for years.” Grande added: “Of course I didn’t share about how hard or scary it was while it was happening but it was.” According to TMZ, he had a hard time moving on. In the months following the breakup and Grande’s subsequent engagement to Pete Davidson , friends were instructed not to mention the situation in Miller’s presence. Miller seems to have struggled with substance abuse his entire life, to the point that premature death was a subject that was often on his mind and one that he addressed frequently in his music. He delved into great detail about his addiction to promethazine and codeine (a combination known as “purple drank”) on his 2014 album Faces . Addressing his substance abuse issues in a 2012 interview, Miller had this to say: “I’d rather be the corny white rapper than the drugged-out mess who can’t even get out of his house.” “Overdosing is just not cool. You don’t go down in history because you overdose. You just die.” A profile of Miller was published by Vulture on Thursday and contained this tragically illuminating quote about the rapper’s mindset in his final days. “A lot of times in my life,” he said, “I’ve put this pressure to hold myself to the standard of whatever I thought I was supposed to be, or how I was supposed to be perceived.” He added: “And it creates pressure.” For his last words, publicly anyway, that line is extremely telling. Mac Miller was scheduled to begin a nationwide tour next month. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam His final Instagram post features a portion of his song “So It Goes,” which features the lyrics: “Nine lives, never, die, f-ck a heaven, I’m still gettin’ high.” Our thoughts go out to Miller’s loved ones during this difficult time.

Mac Miller Tribute: See What the Rapper’s Mom Just Shared

Mac Miller’s mother has shared a beautiful tribute to her late son. Days after the rapper was shockingly found dead at the age of 26 , due to a suspected drug overdose, Karen Meyers has shared a very simple, albeit very telling and special, picture of her child. You can see it here: In the picture uploaded to Instagram, Meyers and her son (whose real name was Malcolm McCormick) are smiling together at a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game. It’s unclear when the snapshot was taken. But it’s evident why this one was used by Karen to pay tribute to the late rapper. As you can see, Miller is leaning his head against his mom’s and making a funny face; she captioned the photo with a broken heart emoji. And she did so not long after Ariana Grande posted a similar tribute to her long-time boyfriend, a couple months after the stars split and about 48 hours after Miller was found dead. This is the photo Grande shared on social media: She did not pen a caption with it. Miller battled substance abuse issues for years prior to his passing. He was frequently open his addiction, just as Grande was open about the fact that Miller’s problems played a significant role in a relationship that eventually became too “toxic” for her to remain a part of. In the wake of Miller’s overdose, a handful of terrible Internet users dared to blame Grande for Miller’s fatal actions . They also wondered why Ariana did not immediately wrote anything online in response to the tragedy. As if it’s any of their business and as if we should ever judge anyone about how they mourn a loved one. On Friday evening, Miller’s family released a statement about the 26-year old’s death. It reads: “Malcolm McCormick, known and adored by fans as Mac Miller, has tragically passed away at the age of 26. He was a bright light in this world for his family, friends and fans. Thank you for your prayers. “Please respect our privacy. There are no further details as to the cause of his death at this time.” An endless array of musicians have since shared their own thoughts about Miller’s passing, but we’re going to note John Mayer’s message below. The artist only just posted it to Instagram late Saturday night and it stands out for its lengthy and personal nature. This is what Mayer wrote about Miller: This was going to be Mac Miller’s year. He made a quantum leap in his music. That’s incredibly hard to do, to evolve and get better and more focused while your career is already underway. You don’t get there without a lot of work, and Mac had put the work in. I didn’t expect to play on his album the day he played some songs for me at his house, but when I heard “Small Worlds,” I gave it a short, chirpy little “yup,” which is the highest praise I can give a track. It means we don’t need to say another word, it’s going down. I grabbed the nearest guitar in the room and within a couple of hours we had finished a tune that made me so incredibly happy to have a part in, not to mention we established a nice little friendship. He was so funny I just kind of stopped typing “LOL” back in our texts. Mac was, to me, on permanent LOL status. I gave him whatever guidance I thought I had the right to, having been through the press ringer in the past and wanting him to understand that none of that noise could ever really take a bite out of the music he was about to put out. The last time I saw him, he was playing Hotel Cafe’ in Los Angeles for a crowd of 100 people. He was nervous, and honest about it with the audience. I thought that was so endearing, especially seeing as he would go on to play one of the best sets I’d seen in a very long time. His band was unreal. You gotta know that if you weren’t familiar with Mac Miller, you were about to be, whether you would have seen him at a festival, or a friend was going to catch a show and tell everyone they knew about it (like I did.) Mac put in the work. He made his best album and formed the band that was weeks away from becoming a breakout live sensation. Believe me when I say that. I send my love and support to everyone who knew him better, because what relative little I did, I just adored. May Mac Miller rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam

Meghan Markle Treated Her First Husband Like Crap! (Psycho Sister Claims)

Before Meghan Markle married Prince Harry and became the Duchess of Sussex, she was just another MAW (model/actress/whatever) trying to make it in Hollywood. And for much of that time, she was romantically involved with a film director and producer named Trevor Engelson. Meghan and Trevor were married for two years, and by all accounts, the relationship did not end well. No one is sure of exactly what drove these two apart, but we know that Meg sent Trevor her wedding and engagement rings back via registered mail. Which actually tells us quite a bit. The breakup was apparently so ugly that she wanted to purge her life of all reminders, and she was willing to pay money to avoid any risk of coming face-to-face with Engelson again. Like we said. Tells you a lot. Engelson shopped a TV series loosely based on his relationship with Meghan, but thus far, he’s declined all offers to speak with the press about their history together. Unfortunately, Meg’s psychotic family is more than happy to speak to the media on Trevor’s behalf! In case you’re somehow still blissfully unaware of their presence, Meghan’s siblings are the absolute worst. Her sister, Samantha Markle, is the worst of the bunch. In fact, Sam has taken such pleasure in raining on Meg’s parade that she dropped her married name, Grant, and picked up Markle. That way, no one would doubt her connection to the Duchess. Ya know, even though they haven’t talked in over a decade and Samantha wasn’t even invited to the wedding . Basically, each and every time Samantha Markle talks to the press , you know you’re in for a load of hot garbage. Her latest interview with UK trash-rag The Sun is no exception. “He said he was devastated, that he felt like a piece of gum at the bottom of his shoe,” Samantha said when asked about Meghan and Trevor’s divorce. “He slammed Meg,” she added. We guess Sam would know, as she’s literally trying to make a career out of slamming Meg. Takes one to know one as they say. As for Engelson’s TV show, Samantha says it may never see the light of day, but she insists that’s not a result of Meg’s clout. “I don’t think Trevor would back down on that or think it’s offensive to Meg,” Sam, always the fountain of knowledge, says. “I think because Meg and Harry were inviting half of Hollywood to their wedding,” she continues, he balked. “He didn’t want to stigmatize himself or his project knowing the political pull that it would have in the industry.” “So I think at one point he thought, ‘Maybe I just better lay low,'” she added. View Slideshow: Meghan Markle’s Exes: The Royal’s Surprising Romantic Past Exposed! Yes, we’re sure no one would jump to any conclusions. If Meghan Markle’s ex-husband produced a TV series in which the main character’s ex marries royalty? Pure coincidence. As for that whole “laying low” thing? You know, when you stop and think about it, that sounds like an excellent strategy. We strongly encourage Samantha to give it a try. Mac Miller Rocks Songs From ‘Swimming’ LP For The 1st Time On NPR’s ‘Tiny Desk’

Read the original post:

Source: Jessica Alexander/Future Image/WENN.com / WENN Mac Miller is heavy on the press run to promote his fifth studio album Swimming , and that includes the requisite in-studio performance with NPR’s Tiny Desk . Miller ran through a funky, subdued three-song set, which was the first time he’s performed the records from his new LP in front of an audience. Miller opened up his set with Swimming ‘s first single, “Small World,” backed by Stephen “Thundercat” Bruner on the bass, Alexander “Justus” West on guitar, Javad Day on keys, Joseph Cleveland on bass, Kendall Lewis on drums, and a special string appearance from Robin Fay-Massie on violin, YaShauna Swan on second violin, Lelia Walker on viola, and Melaine Hsu on cello. With Miller largely taking the lead on all vocals, he got a little bridge help from Thundercat on his second song, “What’s The Use” to great effect for the album’s upbeat third single. The set ends with the triumphant “2009” and Miller had the good fortune of getting some last-minute help with the string section, showering the quartet of women for filling in for him as he couldn’t travel with a string section. Bobby Brown Denies Domestic Violence Against Whitney Houston, Despite Old Documents — “The Public Record Is Wrong”

(Photo by Michel Dufour/WireImage) Bobby Brown Denies Ever Hitting Whitney Houston, Despite Court Documents Well, sure. Bobby Brown made an appearance on a panel during a Television Critics Association press tour Friday and things got intense. According to pagesix , a reporter asked him about a documented instance of domestic violence between himself and Houston, Brown denied such an incident ever took place. When another reporter told Brown that the incidents were a matter of public record, Brown responded simply, “The public record is wrong.” In 2003,  Brown was charged with battery  stemming from an altercation with Houston. She later appeared beside him in court with a visible bruise on her cheek when he turned himself in to authorities. Whitney publicist at the time had made an immediate statement about the altercation calling Bobby “apologetic”. Brown hopes that his upcoming BET miniseries about his life that he was at the press tour to promote — “The Bobby Brown Story” — will help sway misconceptions floating around about himself, his life and career. Brown said the biggest misconception about him is that he is “a bad guy.” Will you be watching his BET produced biopic?
