Kate Middleton Honors Irish Guards on St. Patrick’s Day

Now that’s St. Patrick’s Day fashion done right. Kate Middleton continued run of recent royal festivities with her husband away on military duty in the Falkland Islands as she set out to Aldershot, England, to greet and charm the Irish guards on Saturday, March 17. Here’s one of our favorite Kate Middleton photos from the event: Clad in an emerald coat dress cinched at the waist, the lovely Kate accessorized with a brown cap, matching pumps, and a bloom of shamrocks on to her lapel. Kate Middleton also donned a clover pin that once belonged to The Queen Mother, Prince William’s great-grandmother, who passed away in 2002. After presenting soldiers with a basket of shamrocks (a tradition dating back to 1901), the 30-year-old got into the spirit with a sip of Harvey’s Bristol Creme sherry. Her outing also included adorning the Regimental mascot Conmeal (a black dog) with a shamrock on his collar. All in a day’s work for the Duchess! [Photo: WENN.com]

Kate Middleton Gets Her Field Hockey On

With Princes Harry (Brazil) and Prince William (the Falklands) otherwise occupied, it fell to Kate Middleton to help ramp up the excitement as the ambassador of the 2012 London Olympics during a private visit to the city’s Olympic Park. Did she ever. She worked out with Team Great Britain’s field hockey squad! Having played the sport herself (and even serving as her school’s captain), the ever-game Duchess wasted no time joining in with the ladies . So how’d she do? As with everything else, Kate Middleton proved herself to be a total natural. “I was really looking forward to coming here, but now I am here and have discovered I have to play,” she told the men’s and women’s teams beforehand. “I am not feeling confident. The last time I played was 2005, maybe. It feels like I haven’t held a stick for 10 years. This is going to be so embarrassing.” “My brain thinks I can do these things, but my body doesn’t play ball. Oh, please don’t tell me I have to do it in front of all these people!” she joked. Kate missed the first three of her goal attempts, but ultimately scored a goal – to rapturous applause from all players and observers, of course. Middleton swapped her blazer and heels for a gray Team GB sweatshirt, coral jeans and Adidas sneakers. She looks great in both ensembles, no? [Photos: WENN.com]

First up, we pitted Phillip Phillips against Colton Dixon . Both talented, both appealing to a certain female demographic. What Did Prince William and Kate Middleton Name Their Puppy?

When it came to naming their brand new puppy , royal newlyweds Prince William and Kate Middleton decided to go a traditional, sophisticated route. Standard operating procedure for a Duke and Duchess. Kate Middleton let their closely guarded secret slip when talking to a group of school children at Rose Hill Primary School Tuesday: Its name is Lupo! The cocker spaniel’s moniker means ‘wolf’ in Italian. Why the name Lupo? “There is no significance in it apart from they liked the name,” a royal aide told the U.K. Daily Mail shortly after Kate spilled the beans. Adopting the puppy in January, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge first met the canine over the Christmas holiday with her parents in Bucklebury, England. “He belongs to a litter of spaniels from one of Carole Middleton’s friends near home,” a Palace aide said earlier this month when confirming Lupo’s origin. Late last year, Kate and William reportedly took the small canine companion home for a brief fostering period before making the adoption official. “William and Catherine fell in love with the pup instantly and it wasn’t long before they decided to keep him, officially, in their family,” the source says .

Reese Witherspoon Reveals Crush on Kate Middleton

Reese Witherspoon has a new film out (follow this link for a This Means War movie review ), but another topic she discussed today was more interesting. The 35-year-old actress went on Ellen to promote the film, but went on to talk about meeting Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton last summer! “Somebody called me and said we’re having a really small fundraiser would you want to come over and meet the Prince and Princess? I was like, Yes.” It gets better. Check a clip of Reese’s interview with Ellen below: Reese Witherspoon on Ellen “I must have tried on like six outfits. I’m meeting a princess. You don’t understand … You have to be wearing the right outfit and the whole thing.” The Oscar winner continued: “I don’t know, maybe we can be friends. She was really nice. She was just lovely. She’s so composed. She seems like such a lady. I think it’s so nice nowadays to see someone with such composure who carries herself so beautifully. Call me. Call me anytime!” Sounds like someone’s smitten! Not that we can blame her. Reese was later presented a Mr. T Chia Pet by Ellen. No idea why, but that’s awesome.

Prince William & Kate Middleton as Ken & Barbie: First Look!

Mattel’s collector’s edition Duke and Duchess of Cambridge versions of Barbie and Ken have been released, and are quite regal – and realistic for miniature dolls! Case in point: Barbie Kate Middleton isn’t as voluptuous as the blonde original, while William/Ken isn’t nearly as much of a fake-tanned metrosexual douche. The toy company is releasing the special Prince William and Kate Middleton figurines in time to mark the real-life royal couple’s one-year anniversary April 29. Here they are, outfitted in their royal wedding attire: William’s red military jacket with a blue sash is a surprisingly accurate replica, as are Kate’s Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen gown, tiara and engagement ring. Kate Middleton has been a doll before, if you remember – last year, the Franklin Mint made an engagement edition – and in a different sense, she’s a doll every day. Sadly for those stateside, when the royal Barbie-and-Ken dolls go on sale for $155 from Amazon.com U.K. come April 7, they will not be offered in North America. Shoppers throughout Europe, on the other hand, can buy all they want and charge absurd sums on eBay. International online commerce at its finest, people.

Macaulay Culkin Photos: Home Alone Too Long?!

They say the camera adds 10 pounds, but there are exceptions to every rule. A skinny, scruffy Macaulay Culkin resurfaced in N.Y. City yesterday and photos of him first posted on Entertainment Tonight have generated a lot of buzz online. A rep for the former child star slams speculation that the star is struggling in any way, despite his dramatically thinner appearance. Check it out below: Macaulay Culkin Photos The rep said: “Macaulay Culkin is in perfectly good health. For ET or any other media to speculate otherwise is thoughtless, irresponsible and destructive.” Explains a source of the shocking Macaulay Culkin photos: “He is just so thin naturally, so when he loses one pound it just looks like more.” A second insider cautions that Culkin has had “emotional issues” for years. Culkin and Friend with Benefits actress Mila Kunis called off their low-key, eight-year relationship in late 2010. He has not personally addressed the photos.

Taylor Swift: Dumped by Eddie Redmayne?

Poor Taylor Swift. Not only did this singer recently lose out on a role in Les Miserables (the part of Eponine went to Samantha Barks instead), but she reportedly lost a new love interest in the process. According to Us Weekly , Taylor met British actor Eddie Redmayne ( My Week with Marilyn ) while auditioning for the character in October 2011 and “they hung out in New York City with the movie’s execs. Taylor developed feelings for him fast.” Redmayne, who actually attended Eton College with Prince William, felt something for Swift, as well, an insider confirms, meeting up with her on January 24 in London and staying over the next night in Taylor’s hotel room. It’s unclear why. Alas, Swift returned home, learned she did NOT win the part in Les Miserables and then received doubly bad news: Redmayne was “not interested in a long-distance relationship,” this source says. Prince William and Kate Middleton Adopt Puppy!!

Prince William and Kate Middleton have adopted a new puppy! Rumors had been circling about a new addition to their family since photos surfaced of the pair walking along with a canine companion on Newborough Beach in North Wales, but the Palace hadn’t confirmed the adorable news – until now ! The newlyweds have become parents to a months-old black Cocker Spaniel: AWW! The Palace has yet to release the name, but The Telegraph says the male pup is a son of a dog belonging to the Duchess of Cambridge’s mother, Carole Middleton. Members of the media are sure to love the newest royal addition as the royal couple is certain to take many more outings with their new furry friend in the future. Not to mention the fact that it will stir up the obligatory Kate Middleton pregnancy rumors . After all, the dog always comes before the baby … are we right?! [Photo: WENN.com]
