“It’s an amazing story… what is quite clear is that her [Princess Diana’s] life was an amazing life. She was a wagonload of monkeys but she was also an amazing, fascinating, ballsy woman.” Producer Stephen Evans, talking to Screen Daily, explained why his $50M take on Princess Diana’s life — leading up to her divorce from Prince Charles, ending before her Dodi Al Fayed years — is such a no-brainer. “”You don’t often get a movie like this where you know, that if you can make it work, it is bomb proof.” Classy! Kate, 29, was seen with it prominently dangling from her right wrist when she applauded tennis player Andy Murray at Wimbledon Monday and the previous Saturday, when she and Prince William attended a ceremony with the Irish Guards. C is for Catherine, Cambridge and Camilla! A new charm bracelet that Kate has been wearing recently is a gift from her mother-in-law Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. On her left hand, of course, rests Princess Diana#39;s sapphire engagement ring. But it is the newer p
Seriously, Newsweek ? We know sales have been abysmal and you were on the verge of going under a few months ago, but this seems like an extreme way to generate headlines. The latest issue of this magazine features a digitally-altered photo of Princess Diana, imaging what she would look like at age 50, and places it alongside Kate Middleton, as if the two are old pals out for a stroll. It’s an eerie attempt to bring the dead back to life, and to put even more pressure on the beautiful head of Prince William’s bride than already exists. Editor Tina Brown, who penned the cover story, says of her vision of Diana: “There is no doubt she would have kept her chin taut with strategic Botox shots and her bare arms buff from the gym. Remarriage? At least two, I suspect, on both sides of the Atlantic.” Hypothesizing about what this icon would be doing if tragedy hadn’t struck in 1997? Juxtaposing a photoshopped version of her on the sidewalk with Middleton? Do you find this blatant attention-grab to be in poor taste?
While her sister is featured on the latest Newsweek cover walking alongside Princess Diana, Pippa Middleton is making headlines for some strolling of her own this week. Despite rumors of a split, and even more ridiculous rumors that she’s close with Prince Harry , Pippa attended Wimbledon with long-time boyfriend Alex Loudon yesterday. She looked as cute, and as happy, as ever: Inside the stadium of the tennis tournament, witnesses say the pair exchanged smiles and talked closely as they watched the matches alongside Pippa’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. Early last Friday morning, Pippa was also snapped leaving Loudon’s London apartment. You know what that means, right? We officially hate Loudon even more than we hate Shia LeBeouf . “Guy Ritchie is a friend of Prince William and Miss Middleton,” reads a description beneath the director#39;s name on the official guest list. William has been spotted with Ritchie at the director#39;s popular London pub, Punch Bowl. Stone, described as an “English Soul singer and songwriter,” performed at Princess Diana#39;s memorial concert in 2007. The royal wedding will have a little more star power than previously expected. Among the Sirs, Ladies, Dukes, Kings, Queens and Prime Ministers
Orlando Bloom also explained how his life has changed since his son#39;s arrival on Jan 6. “Everything you know, all the things that you thought were important, drift into the background,” Bloom, 34, said. “And even things that were important really come to the fore and he#39;s one of them.” Like most new dads Orlando Bloom is proud of his 3-month-old son Flynn. “He#39;s my boy, he#39;s amazing,” the actor told reporters before the premiere of The Good Doctor at the Tribeca Film Festival in N

At some point, Kate Middleton and Prince William will likely get married. Here’s to hoping the ceremony takes place in a town hall civil ceremony! That would show these annoying supermarket tabloids, who continue to cash in on the mere presumptions of what this royal wedding will look like . In the latest example of anonymous sources citing unspecified facts regarding the couple’s plans, OK! Weekly reports that William and Kate will attempt to duplicate the nuptials of the former’s late mother, Princess Diana. “Princess Diana talked about what she wanted her sons’ weddings to be like even when she was pregnant with them,” said a source. Ironically, Princess Diana was also killed because the paparazzi were chasing her limo. So it’s nice to see celebrity gossip reporters have learned from their mistakes and are giving William and Kate room to breathe. Sigh.
“As the weeks before her wedding progressed, Diana lost so much weight that she returned the gown to the Emanuels to have it taken in,” explained auctioneer Kerry Taylor at yesterday’s sale. “The alterations required were so drastic that they decided it would be easier to re-make a smaller version for her. They kept the original and forgot about it only re-discovering it quite recently.” Princess Diana may be gone, but she’s certainly not forgotten. The daring black taffeta gown that she wore
The artifacts from the ancestral home of the Princess of Wales, Princess Diana, will be auctioned this summer. The items are expected to raise £20m. One of the items to be sold from Althorp House in Northamptonshire is a painting by Sir Peter Paul Rubens, which could fetch up to £12m. Another painting “The work,” where it displays a commander being armed for battle, which was painted in about 1613-14 could amount to £12m as well. The home of Earl Spencer is passing through a £10m restoration project. The reinvestment in Althorp and its estate will be funded by the auction of artwork, English and French furniture and porcelain from the Spencer collection and treasure from Althorp’s attics. All the artifacts will be sold in three separate auctions this summer at Christie’s London sales rooms.
