Jesse Helt is making like Teresa Giudice : The young man – who made headlines in August for accompanying Miley Cyrus to the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards and even giving a speech on her behalf – is headed to prison. The 22-year old received a six-month jail sentence yesterday for violating his probation, according to NBC News. Jesse Helt Surrenders to Police Helt accepted Miley’s Video of the Year trophy at the aforementioned event and then went on to tell viewers about the plight of homeless individuals such as himself. Cyrus later took to social media to explain that she was trying to use her fame for good, as she and Helt helped raised over $200,000 for a homeless shelter in Los Angeles through their stunt. But Miley received criticism from critics who claimed she was simply exploiting Helt, while it eventually came out that Helt wasn’t actually homeless. To make matters worse, the public then learned that several warrants were out for Helt’s arrest , ranging in seriousness from burglary to criminal mischief. Helt turned himself in to police not long afterward and was permitted to speak on his own behalf in court on Tuesday. He told a judge that he’d “like to be viewed as a good person.” Judge Monte Campbell, however, cited continuing probation violations as the reason to revoke his probation and send him to jail. Helt was credited with 57 days served. At the VMAs, his speech did manage to make folks aware of the issue of poverty in America, as Helt told the millions watching at home: “My name is Jesse, and I’m accepting this award on behalf of 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth who are starving lost and scared right now. I know this because I am one of these people. I have survived in shelters all over this city…Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets I have a lot of the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight.” 2014 MTV VMAs in GIFs! 1. Woman Faces Jail After Posting About Drinking On Facebook While On Probation Her dumbazz belongs in jail. According to Click On Detroit: It was the day after St. Patrick’s Day when Colleen Cudney was called in for a random breathalyzer test. The 22-year-old was put on probation for a drunken driving conviction in 2012. After Cudney took the test at the probation office in Westland, she logged on to Facebook and counted her blessings. Investigators say she posted this: “Buzz killer for me, I had to breathalyze (sic) this morning and I drank yesterday but I passed thank god lol my dumba@@.” “I hope they throw the book at you young lady because it’s sad that you did something like that because you could hurt someone or kill someone,” Brown said. A Westland police officer saw her post that morning and notified the probation office. When a probation officer called Cudney to return to the office for a urine test, she hung up the phone. Probation officials say that was a violation of her probation. It was set to end in a few weeks. A urine test would have detected if Cudney had anything to drink in the 80 hours prior to taking it, probation officials said. Cudney is due in court on April 1st for a probation hearing. Maybe if Chris actually went to jail, he would get his isht together. Chris Brown Avoids Jail Time In D.C. Case Chris has been given so many chances and can’t seem to get right. A seat on “Fix My Life” awaits. According to TMZ: Chris Brown would have gone to jail today if L.A. prosecutors had their way … because they asked a judge to send him directly to the pokey. Chris appeared for a hearing on the D.C. assault case, where he stands accused of beating up a guy last October. The hearing was held by the judge in the Rihanna beating case, who will decide if Chris violated his probation by allegedly committing the assault. Prosecutors asked the judge to throw Chris in jail immediately and set a probation violation hearing. Prosecutors claim “Brown’s violent behavior continues to increase in severity and frequency” and he poses “an increasing danger to society.” The D.A. claims they have now reviewed the D.C. case — interviewing witnesses and examining evidence — and they say there is reason to believe Chris is guilty as charged. The judge, however, ruled Chris was better off completing his 90-day rehab for anger management than being thrown in jail, so he shut down prosecutors. Hopefully, Chris can complete his rehab without anymore angry outbursts. TMZ
