Chris Brown Assault Charge Reduced; Star Faces Misdemeanor, Free Without Bail

The assault charge against Chris Brown, filed after his arrest early Sunday morning, has just been reduced from a felony offense to a misdemeanor. Chris has been released from jail, where he had been for about 36 hours, with no bail. He is required to stay 100 yards away from the alleged victim. Brown will not be required to take a drug test, as often stipulated in such cases. His bodyguard’s charge was also reduced to a misdemeanor. The controversial 24-year-old was arrested for felony assault in Washington D.C. after allegedly attacking a man outside a hotel and breaking his nose. Brown had been in custody since, though it’s unclear who threw the first punch , and the reduced charge certainly indicates some of that uncertainty. Law enforcement sources have indicated that the fight started when the man and his friend photobombed Chris, who was posing for a picture with two girls. The victim says the same in his official statement, claiming he was trying to get a picture with Chris when Brown allegedly said, “I ain’t down wit that gay s–t.” The victim says he responded by saying to Chris, “Why you hoing?” Chris then said, “I feel like boxing” and hit him in the face. Then, he says, he went to square off with Chris when the bodyguard also hit him in the face. According to the victim, who suffered a broken nose, after the bodyguard punched him, the R&B star got behind the bodyguard , screaming, “Yeah, walk away.” Sources close to Chris insist it wasn’t over a photo, though, and that the guy tried to get on Chris’ tour bus, and Chris was just trying to stop a trespass. In his witness statement, Chris DENIES punching the victim and says he was on the bus when the victim tried getting on and his bodyguard “handled it.” Brown, who recently broke up with Karrueche Tran , faces certain jail time if found to be in violation of his probation for beating Rihanna back in 2009. He could theoretically have his probation revoked without a conviction, but the more likely scenario is that probation officials will see how this plays out.

Chris Brown Sentenced to 1,000 Hours of Additional Community Labor; Probation Reinstated

Chris Brown’s probation has been reinstated and he won’t be heading to jail, but the singer has been ordered to complete 1,000 MORE hours of community labor. After the L.A. County D.A. accused him of falsifying his community service records earlier this year, the 24-year-old faced the music at a hearing yesterday. Chris Brown Probation Reinstated He stood accused of reporting to the probation department that he was picking up trash in his native Virginia when he was on a private jet to Cancun, etc. He was required to complete 1,440 hours of community labor as part of his 2009 assault conviction (for assaulting Rihanna), which he said he completed it. The judge wasn’t buying that , but is giving him another chance. Chris’ probation was revoked in July in the wake of hit-and-run allegations, but that case was dismissed this week, so his probation was reinstated. On the condition that the star completes an additional 1,000 hours of community service, that is, due to the discrepancy in his original records. Basically, he won’t get much, if any credit for service he may or may not have completed already, and must do the labor in L.A. County this time. He can pick between highway cleanup, beach cleanup (obvious choice), probation alternative work service (PAWS), or (ironically) graffiti removal . Chris must also report to a probation officer within 48 hours. The probation, assuming his completes these 1,000 hours and doesn’t get it revoked for another reason, is finally coming to an end in October 2014. Mark your calendars.

David Kernell, Sarah Palin Email Hacker, Finally Out of Prison, Off Probation

David Kernell, the former college student who hacked Sarah Palin’s email in 2008 looking for politically damaging information, is FINALLY off probation. Kernell’s prison term ended in November 2011, and a judge has now ended his post-prison probation, The Commercial Appeal of Memphis, Tenn., reports. He was scheduled to remain on probation until late 2014, but Judge Thomas Phillips agreed to Kernell’s request to end his probation early. As NBC affiliate WBIR notes, Kernell’s attorney Wade Davis continues to argue, five years later, that his client only committed a youthful prank. When he did hack Palin’s email, the young man was a student at the University of Tennessee. He did complete his degree after he was out of prison. Phillips didn’t want to send Kernell to prison in the first place. In fact, he had ordered the college student to report to a halfway house in Knoxville. However, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons overruled Thomas and instead sent the 22-year-old prankster straight to the slammer for his cyber “crime.”

When It Rains, It Pours: The Center For Arts And Tehnology Pulls Sponsorship Of Canadian Concert Over Chris Breezy’s “Reputation”

Damn, Chris this probation violation is already phucking your bread up. Sponsor Drops Out Of Festival Over Chris Brown Sponsors start pulling out, next he’ll be losing that endorsement scrilla. Iyanla needs to book him a spot on her show ASAP cause at the rate Chris is going, we will have to change his name from Chris to Bobby. That’s not a good look. According to Rhymes With Snitch Earlier this week a Canadian telecommunications company pulled their sponsorship from the Energy Rush music festival in Nova Scotia after learning that singer Chris Brown had been added to the line up. Another sponsor has followed suit… The Center for Arts and Technology-Halifax released a statement on their Facebook page on their decision to cut ties with the event. CATH writes, “Due to the recent announcement of Chris Brown as Energy Rush’s featured artist, we have officially withdrawn our sponsorship from this event. When we became a sponsor of Energy Rush, we were not aware of who the featured artist was going to be at that time… We feel that pulling our sponsorship is the best option given the feature artist’s reputation. As an educational institution, we can’t ignore the sentiments expressed on campus that participating in this year’s event goes against our collective values.” Get it together Chris.

Judge Revokes Chris Brown’s Probation, Breezy Is A Free Man…For Now

Isht is about to get real Chris . Chris Brown’s Probation Revoked A black man can’t catch a break in America. It’s like Chris does his best (in his mind) to stay out of trouble, but still gets phucked in the end. According to TMZ That was quick — the judge just REVOKED Chris Brown’s probation in the Rihanna beating case, but the singer will remain a free man … for now. Brown showed up at court today to fight the L.A. County D.A.’s motion to revoke his probation in the wake of hit-and-run charges stemming from a car accident in May … but the judge granted the motion anyway, paving the way for a probation violation hearing in August. If the judge determines Chris violated his probation, the singer could be sentenced to 4 years in prison. In the meantime, Brown has been released on his own recognizance. At least he’s free for now. If he can stay out of trouble until August, maybe the court will take it easy. Somewhere Frank Ocean is laughing. Continue reading

Chad Johnson: Jailed After Slapping Lawyer’s Ass in Mid-Probation Violation Hearing!

Chad Johnson was just kicked out of court and jailed after slapping his male lawyer’s ass and enraging the judge overseeing his probation violation hearing. Chad Johnson Ass Slap The troubled former NFL star was in court in Broward County, Fla., to face a judge for the recent probation violation in his domestic violence case. During the hearing, the judge and Chad’s lawyer were about to finalize terms of Chad’s punishment – terms fairly favorable to #85, no less. But the deal fell apart in epic fashion as the judge asked Chad if he was satisfied with his representation … and he playfully slapped his attorney’s ass. The court erupted with laughter, except for the judge. She was PISSED! She lashed out at Johnson, asking him if this whole proceeding was merely a joke to him. He replied no, “because my life is in shambles right now.” It’s now even more so. The judge wasn’t satisfied with that, announced that the previous arrangement was off the table, kicked him out of court and had him jailed for contempt. His attorney tried to apologize profusely, desperately trying to convince the judge to accept the original terms of the deal, but she simply wasn’t having it. Chad, who is on probation after his head-butting of then-wife Evelyn Lozada and subsequent conviction, was sentenced to 30 DAYS in jail. Astonishing.
