Killer Joe To Be Released Uncut & NC-17 [PIC, VIDEO]

The producers of William Friedkin ‘s new movie Killer Joe (2011) are sticking to their guns. The legendary director of The Exorcist submitted this “totally twisted deep-fried Texas redneck trailer park murder story” to the dreaded MPAA censorship board earlier this year, only to be told that extensive cuts would be needed for an R rating. But rather than cut the already-infamous “KFC scene” where Matthew McConaughey forces Gina Gershon to give head to a chicken leg, the producers of Killer Joe have decided to wear the NC-17 rating with pride and will be releasing the movie uncut and on schedule on July 27. The NC-17 rating, long considered a cinematic “kiss of death”, has been experiencing something of a resurgence lately: Shame (2011) earned solid box office despite its NC-17 rating for graphic sex and nudity, a pattern that Killer Joe is hoping to replicate. (This will be Gina’s second foray into NC-17 territory: she also co-starred in the 1995 SKINstant classic Showgirls .) See the trailer for Killer Joe after the jump!

The Bachelorette Promo: Fall in Love Again!

Emily Maynard, the single mom who captured America’s heart on The Bachelor, is back! She’s The Bachelorette! In a newly-released promo for the new season (premiering Monday, May 14), we get our first look at the Southern Belle’s reality TV return. She may have to kiss a lot of frogs, but she will find her prince charming . Or so we’re told. The hometown dates are still filming and there’s been no proposal made or accepted as of yet. The Bachelorette Promo This season, evidently, will keep us guessing from the opening night. We’re guessing that neither Brad Womack nor Bentley Williams arriving in the chopper, however. Vinny Guadagnino says Snooki will be a great mom . We’re not as confident, but she’s at least practicing. Inspired by the producers of their spinoff series maternal instincts, Snook and BFF JWoww have been seen out and about with plastic infant training dolls. The pregnant Jersey Shore star has been carrying around the fake kid for days now and it hasn’t OD’d or been dropped on its head, so, that’s something. Angelina Pivarnick on The Situation: Popeye on Crack!

Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino is in rehab for his prescription drug problem and his former Jersey Shore co-star, Angelina Pivarnick, is not the least bit surprised. Or particularly sympathetic, apparently. Ange, who quit the show in each of its first two seasons (for good the second time around), slammed Sitch to the New York Post, terming him “Popeye on crack.” “When he was on the show, he got in trouble for prescription pills,” she added, saying he’s dabbled in drugs for a while. “We were filming in a club in Miami.” “One of the producers said, ‘Hey what was that?’ He had to give them up.” Asked if The Situation has a drug problem, his rep directed us to his Facebook page, where he came clean about the issue after some initially vague denials. TMZ first reported that Mike was in rehab . He’s now confirmed that. “I have voluntarily taken steps to get control of a prescription medication problem I had due to exhaustion,” he wrote, thanking his fans for their support.

Khloe & Lamar Recap: Losing Sleep Over It

After a sex-swing filled season 2 premiere one week ago, the newest episode of Khloe & Lamar was more subdued, as the latter was literally losing sleep over the NBA lockout. This had widespread ramifications for the family. Read on for THG’s recap of the episode, +/- style… “I think it’s because of the lockout,” Lamar says. “Basketball’s always been able to wear me down.” Wonder if he blames his 8 PPG/5 RPG on the lockout too. Minus 29 . Lamar says he sometimes goes 2-3 DAYS without sleeping. Plus 19 for even being able to function as a human being, much less in an NBA game, if that’s even half-true. “Lamar has been keeping me up. It is so frustrating,” Khloe whines. Minus 7 . Due to Lamar keeping Khloe up all night, she oversleeps and ends up being late to a photo shoot. Plus 10 for sparing us Khloe Kardashian pics for a few hours. “You have not been able to get pregnant because of our guys’ sleep schedule,” Kim Kardashian says. “It’s out of hand.” As is Kim’s entire existence. Minus 20 . The poster above says “Wherevear.” Minus 40 . Khloe / the producers try warm milk, massages, sleep masks, whale sounds, even drugging Lamar with melatonin, which he sees through. Fail. Minus 20 . Malika Haqq, Khloe’s friend and assistant, has been dating NFL player Adrian Wilson for a while and Khloe isn’t exactly a fan of the Arizona Cardinal. Adrian says he was married for nine years and has three kids, and Khloe feels he may has moved on too quickly. Doesn’t Lamar have three kids? If so, Minus 10 , but only for being hypocritical. Malika goes to her sister, Khadijah, for advice. Yes, we are officially watching a plot line involving the assistant to Khloe Kardashian on TV. Minus 15 . Malika later tells her that she broke up with Adrian. “I know what I did is the right thing and that’s it,” Malika tells a shocked Khloe. Good call. Plus 30 . EPISODE TOTAL: -82. SEASON TOTAL: -229!

The Michael Jackson tribute concert took place this weekend in Wales where numerous performers were invited and paid to perform. Jennifer Hudson was one of them, but according to TMZ.com pulled a no-show and didn’t even warn the producers! She tweeted that she wouldn’t be attending the show due to “major production issues.” According to a source of TMZ “Hudson is claiming she felt the show’s producers didn’t give her enough time with the music she was supposed to be singing. I guess Minka Kelly’s new TV remake of Charlie’s Angels hasn’t been cancelled just yet, because here she is filming scenes on a jet-ski the other day. The woman is really hot, but I’m a little disappointed with the producers. You’ve got a show about a bunch of hotties solving mysteries and you put them in wetsuits and one piece bathing suits for a jet-ski chase scene? Come on. This just screams slow motion bikinis bouncing over the waves on a jet-ski at sunset… Maybe with some Van Halen playing in the background. Awesome.

Jewish Groups Want Mel Gibson Yanked From Film

Two powerful organizations are far from pleased about recent news that Mel Gibson was cast in a movie about biblical Jewish hero Judah Maccabee. The Anti-Defamation League has demanded that the producers pull Gibson off the flick immediately, sending a statement directed at Warner Bros. Why are they fired up? Probably this incident , among others. “As a hero of the Jewish people and a universal hero in the struggle for religious liberty, Judah Maccabee deserves better,” the group said of Mel. “It would be a travesty to have the story of the Maccabees told by one who has no respect and sensitivity for other people’s religious views.” Rabbi Marvin Hier, founder and Dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, also had some harsh words about Gibson’s role in the upcoming film. The Jewish leader tells TMZ that casting Mel Gibson as a Jewish hero is “like having a white supremacist portray Martin Luther King Jr.” For those unaware, Judah, the brave warrior who drove enemies of Judaism out of Jerusalem, is a central figure in the story of Hannukah. Bravo Confirms Scheduled Premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Bravo has now made it official: the season two premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will air as scheduled, this Monday night at 10 p.m. EST. Controversy has surrounded the series, of course, since Russell Armstrong took his own life this month. But the network said in a statement today that the situation will be addressed at the outset of the opening episode. “Bravo will proceed with the Monday, Sept. 5 premiere date of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” said Francis Berwick, president of Bravo Media. “Given that these episodes were filmed months ago, the producers of the show taped a brief interview this week with several of the cast members to introduce the premiere. Reediting of the episodes is still underway. “Our thoughts continue to be with the Armstrong family during this difficult time.” Is this the right decision? What do you think Bravo should do about season two?
