A Chicago Blackhawks fan made the most of his chance at an intermission contest at the United Center. But it had nothing to do with his slap shot in “Shoot The Puck.” He misfired badly on his attempts to score goals and win prizes, but his consolation prize was an interview with lovely Comcast SportsNet Chicago reporter Sarah Kustok. After recalling his failure in the contest, he told Kustok “I love you” live on center ice at the Blackhawks vs. Minnesota Wild game last night. Pattinson sat down with Josh Horowitz to look back on what the series has been for him both as an actor and as a person, and he said that without the vampire series, he doesn’t know what would have happened to him. For a while, the London-born actor didn’t know whether acting was for him and struggled with the question of continuing to appear in front of the camera. “I think a lot of actors think about that all the time,” he said. Pattinson said it has to do with the constant focus on an actor’s insecurities that drive people like him to question the profession. “You have to confront your insecurities quite a lot, and I have plenty, plenty of insecurities,” he laughed. “Even more [now]. Before, you could kind of bullsh– yourself all the time.” For him, obscurity allows for a little less honesty when it comes to self-image. “If no one cares about you, you can be like, ‘I’m the greatest person in the whole world,’ ” he said. “You can be completely delusional.” At 25, Pattinson said there is not even a small sense of vanity anymore. He said he hadn’t patted himself on the back for his looks in a while and that it’s to the point where he is “almost sick at the sight of [himself]. I’m getting older as well. Tennis superstar Serena Williams fled to the panic room in her LA mansion when she mistook a sports association drug tester for a dangerous intruder. According to TMZ , Serena’s assistant called 911 last Wednesday and told the emergency operator that a prowler had been spotted at her house. Turns out the intruder was a random drug tester who stopped by unannounced for a urine sample. Cops responded to the 911 call but quickly left the property when the misunderstanding was discovered. Chris Christie announced today that he would not seek the Republican presidential nomination for president, saying “now is not my time.” Urged to run by many Republicans of late, Christie made his FINAL decision last night, “knowing exactly what I wanted to do” for the first time in weeks. The New Jersey governor vowed not to run approximately 700 times before, but “felt an obligation to earnestly consider” the appeals of “serious people.” Chris Christie: Get the Hell Off the Beach!
