Justin Bieber Reveals Release Dates For New Singles

By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: James Devaney/ Getty Images Fans who want to hear some new music from Justin Bieber won’t have to wait much longer. The singer has revealed that he’s set to drop not one but two singles in the very near future. First off, Bieber’s collaboration with Far East Movement , which also features Party Rockers LMFAO, drops on Tuesday. The Twitter announcement for the release included the hashtag “#LiveMyLife,” perhaps a hint as to the name of the song. The song’s producer, RedOne, recently spoke to MTV News about the track. “I did a few songs with Far East Movement, and one of the songs … to me, it’s a smash,” he said. “And Justin sang the chorus. It’s a really good song, and I think people are gonna dance like crazy to it.” In addition to the release, Bieber revealed that his first single off his forthcoming album Believe will drop in March. “And u guys keep asking. so yeah. my single is NEXT MONTH> #BELIEVE,” he wrote. Little else is know about the song, but given the caliber of talent he’s been recording with for the album of the same name, it’s certain to be something his Beliebers will look forward to. For the album, he’s hooked up with everyone from Pharrell and Rodney Jerkins to Drake, Lil Wayne, Timbaland and will.i.am. “The only conversation we’ve had about Justin’s album that we’re about to do is it’s really important that it’s the proper transition, because we’ve seen him [with] ‘Baby,’ now we’re watching him grow up,” vocal producer Kuk Harrell told us. “And we can’t just throw him into the adult game right away. It has to be the proper transition. There’s a record in between.” It’s an exciting time for Bieber. As he continues to up his professional game, he’s also about to celebrate a personal milestone: The teen star will turn 18 on March 1. ‘Hunger Games’ Film Shows ‘Flashier’ Seneca Crane

By Kara Warner with reporting by Josh Horowitz Wes Bentley as Seneca Crane in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate On Thursday, we treated our fellow “Hunger Games” fans to a fun and candid discussion with star Wes Bentley about his character’s curiously shaped beard and how its unique design and personality enhanced Bentley’s performance in the film as game master Seneca Crane. Now we have yet another snippet from that interview, in which we tackle some more serious issues, like what secretive scenes Bentley was most excited to film, as well as what kind of Seneca Crane we’ll see on the big screen come opening day, March 23. “It was all of it for me,” Bentley told MTV News about what scenes he was most eager to film. “I was curious to get on set and see what was going on. It was secret for everybody, so to get on and see what the look was and how it was feeling, I was excited to be a part of it every day.” The “American Beauty” actor admitted that because author Suzanne Collins doesn’t provide a meaty character arc for Crane, he wasn’t exactly sure how they were going to interpret him for the film. “For anyone who reads the books, he’s not mentioned much in the books, mostly because it’s told from Katniss’ first-person perspective, so I had no idea what kind of angle we were going to take on it, and I really didn’t have an idea until I got to set,” Bentley said. “[Director] Gary [Ross] had such a clear idea of it that it made it easy to dig into.” Bentley was hesitant to describe his version of Crane in detail, but after a bit of prodding, he did reveal that he took a few cues from his experiences in Hollywood to flesh out Crane’s persona a bit. “The idea of him was a flashier idea than what you would think. He’s more a flashy producer,” Bentley said. “I’m still a tech-y kind of guy, still a producer at heart, so I used my understanding of show business and sort of magnified that to get a clear-cut vision of Seneca. “He goes big. Nick Cannon Quits Radio Show Amid Health Concerns

By Jocelyn Vena Nick Cannon Photo: FilmMagic Amid new health concerns, Nick Cannon has announced that he will step down as host of his morning show on 92.3 Now. The DJ/rapper made the announcement early Friday morning (February 17). “Under doctor’s orders, I have been asked to put my health first and cut back on some of my professional commitments in order to allow my body to get the rest that it needs to keep up with the demands of my multi-tasking schedule,” he said in a statement . “It has been an absolute pleasure working with CBS Radio and the 92.3 NOW morning show team and I would like to thank them for their unwavering support,” he said, adding that while he will no longer host his daily show, he will still host his weekly countdown show. “I will continue to host my syndicated ‘Cannon’s Countdown’ weekend show and look forward to contributing to 92.3 NOW whenever possible. Even Superman has to sleep.” The station has announced that for the time being, DJ Lil Cee will replace Cannon. “We respect and understand Nick’s decision to step down from his day-to-day position as host of Morning Drive on 92.3 NOW, and fully support him as he takes on a less demanding role with the station in order to address his health,” they said. “Everyone at the station and all of the CBS RADIO family wish him well, and look forward to his continuing contributions to 92.3 NOW.” The news comes after Cannon revealed he had been hospitalized last week for a slew of new health issues. “It’s my first day back since Friday, and not many people have known this but, uh … I’ve been in the hospital since Friday,” he said on his radio show on Wednesday. “I was having a lot of pain in my back … I learned that I had blood clots in my lungs … an enlarged ventricle in the right side of my heart.” On Friday morning, he took to Twitter as he prepped to say goodbye to his morning show. “A bitter sweet morning. I have to stop my radio show. Doctors orders,” he tweeted. “The Doctors found blood clots in my lungs and said if I don’t slow down and stop working so hard then it’s a wrap!” Cannon had been hospitalized over the holidays for kidney failure but seemed to be doing better. In an interview with MTV News weeks after the incident, he shared what was believed to have contributed to the hospitalization. “I always considered myself as someone who was in great shape, but I was doing too much [to my body] so my immune system got confused and just started attacking my kidneys,” Cannon said in mid-January, pledging to focus on a healthier lifestyle . “You look at my Twitter picture and I look like I’m in shape, but I was putting the wrong stuff into my body, speeding all the time, not sleeping and eating properly. Rep for the singer/actress confirms to MTV News she is not in rehab after rumors hit the Net. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato Photo: MTV News Demi Lovato can’t seem to escape rumors that she is back in rehab . In the wake of those reports, MTV News has confirmed that she is not. “She’s not in rehab,” a rep for Lovato said, adding that any rumors that the singer/actress skipped the Grammy Awards to seek treatment are also untrue. “She was not supposed to present at the Grammys.” Sources close to Lovato shed some more light on what she is up to, after she tweeted last week, “Away on a mind and body cleansing retreat!! This is exciting. Won’t be tweeting much this week but I love you my sweet lovatics!” “Demi had a week off between work commitments and made the personal decision to spend the week with the professional support team she assembled to help her with her ongoing physical and emotional issues. The trip was previously planned,” the source told MTV News, adding that while Lovato is taking some time for herself, “Demi’s recovery is an ongoing battle. She understands that there will be ups and downs, but is fully committed to working with her team every single day towards a healthy future.” Lovato entered treatment for a number of personal issues in November 2010, remaining until January 2011. Since leaving, she has focused on her music career, including her 2011 album, Unbroken, which launched her empowering hit single “Skyscraper.” She has become a voice for young people struggling with personal issues. Leslie Carter Cause of Death Unknown; Nick and Aaron Mourn Sister

The death of Leslie Carter remains unknown, pending a medical examiner’s findings, as brothers Nick and Aaron Carter mourn this surprising and tragic loss. The Erie County (N.Y.) Medical Examiner’s Office is investigating, but, so far there has been no word on the cause of her passing. Leslie Carter was just 25. Sadly, the family itself is for now as in the dark as their well-wishers, with a source close to the Carters calling the death as “mysterious” as it was abrupt. Aaron Carter, currently starring in the off-Broadway production of The Fantasticks, will be temporarily leaving his performing duties to his understudy. “Aaron is taking a few days off from the show” due to these tragic circumstances, John Capo, the spokesperson for the production, said Wednesday. “His Fantasticks family loves him and offers him support and prayers during this difficult time,” Capo said. “Aaron’s understudy and friend, Matt Leisy, will be covering Aaron’s role until his return. We thank everyone for the outpouring of concern.” As for Nick Carter? The boy band heart throb has time before he has to resume his professional duties – he isn’t scheduled to hit the road with the Backstreet Boys until spring. When he does, he’ll do so with a new, admirable purpose. “Nick Carter is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time,” his publicist, Jack Ketsoyan, told E! News . “We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised.” “Performing is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform,” Nick Carter said.

Sullivan Chris Pine, Reese Witherspoon and Tom Hardy in “This Means War” Photo: 20th Century Fox It takes only two short clips from “This Means War” to show you exactly what kind of movie it is. On one hand you have a woman, played by Reese Witherspoon , torn between two men she genuinely likes. It’s nothing that far out of line with what you expect from your average romantic comedy. On the other hand, you have the influence of McG and two of Hollywood’s top action stars, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine , playing her love interests and secret-agent best buddies. Things, as you can imagine, get a little messy. As part of “MTV First: This Means War” , we debuted two new clips from “This Means War,” and they both give a very good taste of what’s in store in the movie that hits theaters on Valentine’s Day. The first finds Pine’s character, FDR, crashing a date between Hardy’s Tuck and Lauren, played by Witherspoon. Lauren goes to the bathroom to collect herself after the surprise encounter, while back out in the restaurant, the former best friends use every ounce of their professional training to beat the crap out of each, destroying the restaurant in the process. The other clip takes on a much more relaxed tone, showing off the lighter side of the movie. Lauren confides in her best friend, Trish, played by Chelsea Handler, and attempts to make a decision between the two suitors. Unbeknownst to her, both FDR and Tuck listen in. Susanna Barrett, Awful Toddlers & Tiaras Mom, Sues Media For "Oversexualizing" Daughter

Sigh. The mom of young Isabella Barrett of Toddlers & Tiaras fame is suing the MEDIA for over-sexualizing her daughter … by reporting on Isabella’s “Sexy And I Know It” cover . Susanna Barrett claims media outlets, in reporting that event, portrayed her five-year-old daughter in an “overly sexualized manner.” Right. All the media’s fault. In court papers, Susanna claims Isabella “did not act or portray herself sexually, erotically or provocatively” and that coverage of her performance was unfair.’ Isabella Barrett Sings “Sexy and I Know It” “She was not ‘gyrating’ at a ‘nightclub’ or singing ‘about her sex appeal,” the elder Barrett claims incredulously. “On the contrary, it is the defendants who, through their articles … thrust these false and vulgar characteristics on to Isabella.” Yes, this is a real story. The delusional mother seems to see nothing wrong with having her daughter sing a sexually-themed LMFAO song. The media talking about it though? Shame. Thanks to TMZ, The Huffington Post, The Daily Mail and other celebrity news sources, “Isabella is now perceived sexually, erotically and pornographically.” Suing for $30 million, Barrett adds, “[The articles] place Isabella in physical danger, attracting the attention of others who would seek to sexualize a child.” Well, on those grounds, can someone sue her for $30 million too then?

Sarah Jessica Parker Takes Over for Demi Moore in Lovelace

While Demi Moore works to overcome her recent personal problems, we have an update on her professional life: Sarah Jessica Parker has signed on to replace Moore as Gloria Steinem in Lovelace , the upcoming biopic centered around the life of 1970s porn star Linda Lovelace. Demi dropped out of the film almost immediately after being hospitalized earlier this week. Parker joins a cast that includes Amanda Seyfried in the title role, along Peter Sarsgaard, Adam Brody, Juno Temple and Wes Bentley. Moore, meanwhile, is out of the hospital. Her next move is unknown, but the 911 call placed on her behalf was released to the public today.
