The pair recently had their baby shower , and rumors say the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are having a baby boy. However, according to Vanity Fair , the two are trying to move away from gender stereotypes no matter the sex of the baby. A source close to the couple said that Meghan told at least one friend that they want to nurture their kid with a more fluid approach to gender. “Meghan has been talking to some of her friends about the birth and how she and Harry plan to raise their baby. Her exact word was ‘fluid,’” the source told Vanity Fair. The future parents are already sticking to their values, according to sources. They reportedly have a gender-neutral nursery with whites and grays over the typical pink vs. blue color schemes. Their gender fluid approach to raising their kid could mean various things in the future. It could be as simple as not forcing Barbie dolls on a girl or telling the boy they can only stick to one type of profession. Celebs like Kate Hudson and Angelina Jolie are already championing gender fluid ways of raising their kid. Hudson even went on Instagram to say she’s bringing up her kids “to feel free to be exactly who they want to be.” Some studies show positive effects too. According to a study in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology , children enrolled in Sweden’s gender-neutral kindergarten system had more access to opportunities, which researcher predict could result in more success as adults. Of course, countries like Sweden differ drastically when it comes to things like healthcare , which could play a role in overall child access and success. But still, the report could still give major insight to the future well-being of kids.
It was a night of splits on Vanderpump Rules this week. Lala Kent split with Randall Emmett and then parted ways with her sobriety; Tom Sandoval nearly split with Lisa Vanderpump over an argument that apparently involved fairy dust … and then there was Kristen Doute and her bizarre relationship with Brian Carter. As you probably already know, Kristen let her freak flag fly in a major way while she and the rest of the ladies were in Solvang last week. As far as we can tell, there’s a glowing orb buried somewhere in West Hollywood that serves as the source of Kristen’s sanity, and the farther she travels from it, the more psychotic she becomes. Really, she probably just pops a whole bunch of benzos to deal with her travel anxiety, then proceeds to binge drink because this is Vanderpump Rules , and the resulting cocktail gives us Crazy Kristen. Anyway, last week, there were not one but two men driving Loony Doute up the wall, even though they were hundreds of miles from Dutch Wine Country. One was James Kennedy, who continues to enjoy rent-free amenities between Kristen’s ears. The other was a bit more surprising, as Kristen railed against her longtime boyfriend, Brian Carter. From the sound of her tirade in Solvang, it seemed that she intended to dump his semi-employed ass the moment she got home. And when she confronted him (at Kristina’s barbecue, for some reason), Carter didn’t help his situation by insisting — sigh — that the couple’s therapist is “usually on [his] side.” So surely, by now, Kristen and Brian must have gone their separate ways, right? Well, not so fast. Back in November, Doute rushed to Carter’s defense right around the time the two of them took a trip to Australia together. “He and I definitely have a little bit of a bumpy season,” Kristen told Daily Mail Australia at the time. “This is what I signed up for, and we have to be honest. We’re not perfect … It’s really hard to watch things back and I think we’re both a little nervous.” Add to that the fact that just last week Carter gushed about Kristen on her birthday, and it seems that breakup wasn’t such a sure thing after all. “Tonight’s episode was heavy. I want to reiterate that @stassi was only repeating what I had told her,” Kristen tweeted on Monday night. “I love her & all of my girls for wanting the best for me. Carter is a really wonderful man and people go through things. Poor Khloe Kardashian is once again tormented by Tristan Thompson’s latest cheating scandal . Fans think that they know just what she needs — whether she’s ready to hear it or not. Khloe’s fans are bombarding Lamar Odom on social media, saying that now’s the perfect time to win her back. “Don’t be distracted by criticism,” Lamar advises his fans and Instagram followers in the caption of a recent photo. “Focus & Remember,” he writes. “The only taste of success some people get is to take a bite out of you…” That’s a really good Zig Ziglar quote. However, his fans took to the comments to express that they were less interested in what he has to say to them. They want him to start chatting up his ex-wife, Khloe. “Dude, go get your girl @KhloeKardashian,” instructed a commenter. “She needs you.” That was neither the first nor the last follower to actively tag Khloe in the comment. “You are soul mates!” insists another. “You are a changed man! Khloe Kardashian probably wanted to go hide under a rock on Wednesday night. Unlike Tristan Thompson, however, she's a woman of her word. We’re learning more about Justin Bieber than ever before these days. First, the singer sat down with Vogue and confessed that sex had become such a “vice” for him that he went celibate for awhile prior to rekindling his romance with Hailey Baldwin. Then, we learned how Bieber proposed . Now, multiple sources have told People Magazine that Bieber is seeking professional assistance for ongoing mental health issues. “Justin seems down and tired. He has been struggling a bit,” says one Bieber insider, who is quick to emphasize that these issues are unrelated to Baldwin or their relationship. If anything, being with Baldwin, who Bieber refers to as a much-needed “security blanket” in his Vogue interview, has served to help calm Justin down and ease his psychological burden. “It has nothing to do with Hailey – he is very happy being married to her. It’s just something else that he struggles with mentally,” this source continues. “He has good help around him and is receiving some treatment. He seems confident he will feel better soon.” A second informant confirms to People that Bieber is receiving counseling of some kind, but the exact type is unknown at this time. He has not checked into a rehab facility, so it must be some kind of outpatient arrangement. The singer is “emotional and struggles a lot with the idea of fame,” says yet another insider, expounding as follows: “He started off as a typical sweet, Canadian teen. He was such a great kid, honestly super sweet and very polite and nice to everyone around him. “Having this huge amount of fame completely changed him. “He had access to anything and everything and was surrounded by people who just said Yes .” This does actually track for anyone who has followed Bieber’s career. He went from being carefree and kind and seemingly all about his fans… … to telling those same fans they made him sick . In short, Bieber became a giant spoiled brat for two or three years. And while he still makes very dumb comments about Chris Brown and other things on occasion, it does seem apparent that Bieber has used his recent time away from the spotlight to focus on what matters. In their joint cover story for Vogue, Justin confesses to letting his success get to his head at times. “I started really feeling myself too much. ‘People love me, I’m the sh-t,’ that’s honestly what I thought,” he tells the magazine, admitting: “I got very arrogant and cocky. I was wearing sunglasses inside. At night inside.” Yeah. That is always a very lame move. “I found myself doing things that I was so ashamed of, being super-promiscuous and stuff, and I think I used Xanax because I was so ashamed,” Bieber even added. I love you. I have one father. Please stop victimizing me through the media so we can repair our relationship,” reads a portion of the letter, according to the Daily Mail . Earlier this week, five friends of Meghan’s spoke to People magazine and revealed that their objective in doing so was to “stand up against the global bullying” that she’s endured since entering the global spotlight.” They revealed that in response to his daughter’s letter Thomas Markle suggested that the two of them participate in a photoshoot. “She feels like, ‘That’s the opposite of what I’m saying. I’m telling you I don’t want to communicate through the media, and you’re asking me to communicate through the media. Did you hear anything I said?'” said one of Meghan’s friends. “I think she will always feel genuinely devastated by what he has done,” remarked another. The consensus among the anonymous friend group is that Thomas and Samantha are intentionally causing harm to the Duchess’ public image — not to mention her psyche — with no regard for the fact that Meghan is currently pregnant with her first child. “We worry about what this is doing to her and the baby,” said one female associate. “It’s wrong to put anyone under this level of emotional trauma, let alone when they’re pregnant.” In response to Samantha Markle’s claims that Thomas has been unable to contact his daughter, the friends revealed that that’s simply not the case. “He knows how to get in touch with her,” remarked a former costar. “He’s never called; he’s never texted. The soap opera world, and the entertainment industry in general, is in mourning. On Monday morning, February 4, we learned that Kristoff St. John has been found dead at his home in California. The multiple-time Daytime Emmy Award nominee, wh starred on The Young and the Restless since 1991, was only 52 years old. According to TMZ, there were no signs of foul play. What Do We Know at the Moment? The soap opera star was found dead Sunday, Februsary 3 after one of his friends went to check on him at his home in the San Fernando Valley. Police and paramedics were alerted and responded to the house, where the actor was pronounced dead on the scene. 2. He Was a Daytime Drama Icon Kristoff had portrayed Neil Winters on The Young and the Restless since 1991. This role that earned him nine Daytime Emmy Award nominations and he also won 10 NAACP Image Awards as a result. 3. Is There an Official Cause of Death? Not yet. An autopsy has been scheduled, but a police official has confirmed that the actor’s death was possibly due to an alcohol overdose. 4. Might This Have Been a Suicide? We do not want to speculate. But, yes, there is a reason to make this assumption: St. John’s son, Julian, with ex-wife Mia St. John took his own life in 2014 at the age of 24. 5. A Tragic History?: Julian was getting treatment at a mental facility at the time, and Mia and Kristoff sued the facility for negligence. (The suit was eventually settled.) 6. B lack directors are making power moves in the entertainment industry. Many of them are racking up accolades for their work while breaking down racial barriers in an effort to ensure that the next generation of Black filmmakers have a seat at the table. One of those trailblazers is Chinonye Chukwu . Chukwu’s film —which stars Alfre Woodard , Danielle Brooks , Wendell Pierce , and Aldis Hodge —is centered on a prison warden who has to carry out death row executions. The film explores how doing the executions has a psychological impact. Chukwu, who wrote and directed the film, is humbled by the honor. “When everybody was saying ‘No’ this story does not have an audience, you, Sundance and the people who have seen this film have proven that there is an audience for this film, and I thank you,” she said in a statement, according to Deadline . “I wrote this because I wanted audiences, I wanted us, I wanted myself to connect with the ecosystem of humanity’s connected to incarceration, so we as a society can stop defining people by their worst possible acts, that we can end mass incarceration, and dismantle the mass prison industrial complex, and root our societies in true justice and mercy and freedom, which is all tied to our joy inside, that nobody can ever incarcerate or execute.” The filmmaker joins a distinguished list of pivotal directors who have won the Grand Jury Prize for their U.S. Dramatic entries, including Ryan Coogler , Damien Chazelle , and Desiree Akhavan . Black women in entertainment are starting off the year strong. In January, Marsai Martin made history as Hollywood’s youngest executive producer, Regina Hall became the first Black woman to receive a New York Film Critics Circle Award for Best Actress, and Taraji P. NeNe Leakes has come out swinging against Lisa Vanderpump. Hard. While appearing on Jenny McCarthy's Sirius XM show Friday, the veteran Bravo star dove deep into why she has a major issue with her fellow reality personality, accusing Vanderpump of some seriously underhanded… stuff. “She knows that we have a little something, something she did to me. I’ve never really addressed it. … She did some real foul sh-t to me.” Before delving further into the details, NeNe dropped this tease: “This is the first time I've really spoke out and you'll get some really good juicy sh-t.” Leakes went on to say she actually wanted to buy the space on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star now owns and turned into Pump Restaurant. She came right out and accused Vanderpump of stealing this idea from her. “At the time, Greg [Leakes] and I were living in [Los Angeles] and I was working on Glee and New Normal,” Leakes told McCarthy, expounding as follows: “We ride down that West Hollywood area where all the gay bars are — and I have a large gay fanbase — and I kept thinking, ‘It would be so cool if I had a bar right in here somewhere.’ “And that space was empty and kind of raggedy-looking and torn down.” Leakes said she then called Vanderpump, who already owned restaurants Villa Blanca and SUR in the same area, to gauge her opinion on the idea. “She said, ‘Oh darling, darling, it’s a piece of crap and they’re charging so much for it, darling,’” Leakes claims. “She talked me off of it and then went and got it. … That’s so f-cked up.” If this story is true, then yes: that is pretty effed up of Vanderpump. Leakes added on Friday that she and Vanderpump have never talked about the incident. “Now when she sees me, she has this little dog that doesn’t even crawl and she’s like, ‘Hi NeNe,’” Leakes told McCarthy, referring to Vanderpump’s dog Giggy. “ “She just looks at me funny. … We’re gonna get Lisa Vanderpump.
