“Do not wear your letters or distastefully represent your organization while COONING!”– Syleena Johnson Celebs React To Sorority Sisters With news continuing to flood in that advertisers are dropping left and right for VH1’s “Sorority Sisters” , celebrities who are both members of the Divine 9 and those non-affiliated with BGLOs are speaking out. Most recently Syleenah Johnson, a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, wrote a scathing Facebook post on the gross depiction of Greek life. “Our letters are sacred and should be treated as such,” wrote Johnson about the program. “This show ridicules and demeans what we hold dear and what we stand for. […] This is heartbreaking to me.” Other celebs have also joined in including (non Greek) actress Denyce Lawton who criticized detractors for being hypocrites if they support shows like “Love & Hip Hop” and “Basketball Wives.” Hmmmmmm….does she have a point???? Tyrese Denies Getting Kicked Out Of Dubai Club Because Of Kim Kardashian Recently, a number of gossip sites have rumored that Hollyweird actor Tyrese had been kicked out of a nightclub in Dubai because he was trying to holla at Kim Kardashian while she was visting for a Formula One Race. So are the rumors true?? Via Gossip Cop reports: Tyrese Gibson was NOT “kicked out” of a club in Dubai after he was seen hanging out with Kim Kardashian , despite a ridiculous new report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this rumor, which began on unreliable webloids. The site claims to have a “PIPING HOT” exclusive from one of its “ROCK SOLID SNITCHES.” the site alleges that Tyrese was asked to leave an unidentified Dubai nightclub, where he had supposedly been spotted with Kardashian. “A man who was with KIM (a VERY rich man) didn’t like what he saw,” explains the webloid. “So Tyrese was asked to leave the club.” MediaTakeOut adds, “We’re not going to SPECULATE exactly what Tyrese and Kim were doing… but it got Tyrese TOSSED!!!” No, it did not. The first clue that this is complete nonsense is that the site’s “snitch” can’t name the club where this all purportedly happened. When Gossip Cop inquired, we found out Tyrese and Kardashian never even saw each other. A source close to Kardashian tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “She was never in a club the night they are referencing.” Instead, the reality star was on a boat with her girlfriends. “She never saw Tyrese,” Gossip Cop is told. Rapper OG Maco who’s known for his track “You Guessed It”, caught some stings from the BeyHive this week when he accused King Bey of stealing his music video concept. As previously reported Beyoncé recently released her “7/11″ video which features herself and her dancers going ham in a hotel. Maco, whose video was also filmed in a hotel like Bey’s, noted the similarities and started by writing the tweets below. He then retweeted fans who agreed with him… before getting ALL the way shut down by the BeyHive. Poor thang! For comparison purposes here’s “You Guessed It”… and here’s “7/11.” What do YOU think??? Doctor Acquitted After Young Girl Dies During Female Circumcision Operation via Jezebel Earlier this year, Egypt broke some serious ground by arresting Dr. Raslan Fadl and charging him for manslaughter of Sohair al-Bata’a, a 12-year-old girl who died while he was performing a female genital mutilation (FGM) operation on her. Many hoped the case would deter both family members and doctors from continuing FGM, banned since 2007 and criminalized since 2008. Unfortunately, both the doctor and the girl’s father who was also facing criminal charges have been acquitted. Despite the fact that Sohair’s parents admitted to taking her to Fadl’s clinic specifically for a FGM procedure, Fadl claimed that he would never perform such an operation as it was against religious teaching. He claimed he had removed a wart from her pubic area and that she had died from an allergic reaction to penicillin. Meanwhile Egypt’s forensic authority released a report saying that “what happened in the genital area of the girl was a clear circumcision operation.” Fadl and Sohair’s mother reached an out-of-court settlement and Fadl was ordered to pay 5,001 Egyptian pounds, or almost $700 USD to the Sohair’s mother. Equality Now, along with local lawyers plan to appeal the court’s decisions, while activist bodies have planned to engage with Egypt’s rural community about FGM in an effort to curb the practice.
