Ask Pablo: Is Indoor Skiing Really That Bad?

The Author at Ski Dubai Dear Pablo: How bad is indoor skiing is for the environment? I have heard of places in the Middle East where you can ski indoors, even during the summer. I have been holding on to this question for a while but I recently had the opportunity to visit Ski Dubai at the Mall of the Emirates on a recent business trip to the Middle East. In a land of countless “world’s largest” titles it is surprising that Ski Dubai is not the

Ann Ward Interviews: Shocked, Grateful over America’s Next Top Model Victory

Should Ann Ward have been crowned America’s Next Top Model ? Yes, according to a majority of THG readers who voted in this poll . But the 6’2″ beauty wasn’t nearly as confident heading into this week’s finale against Chelsey Hersley. In an interview with The New York Post yesterday, Ward said: “I really thought Chelsey was doing better. It’s still unbelievable that I was even a part of the competition. It just goes to show that even if you are different, you can turn those negatives into really unique positives to be proud of.” Amen, Ann. Mila Kunis on Fake Sex with Justin Timberlake: Awkward!

Mila Kunis is having a lot of sex these days. On the big screen, that is. (We’d like to think her and shocking long-time boyfriend Macaulay Culkin never actually get past first base.) The actress stars in Black Swan , a thriller that focuses on the relationship between a veteran ballet dancer and a rival. Kunis and co-star Natalie Portman make major love during the film. Up next, Mila will appear opposite Justin Timberlake in Friends with Benefits , a comedy that asks the question: Can VERY attractive pals also be casual sex partners? In an appearance on Ellen this week, Kunis was asked what it’s like to fake do JT on camera. “It’s very awkward. It just is,” she said. “He’s great. The truth is, we got to have very uncomfortable scenes for two weeks… there’s like 150 crew men watching and you see each other’s bits and pieces. The whole thing is just wrong.” And also so hot! Check out the red band Friends with Benefits trailer now!

Ashley Tisdale Has Good Fashion Sense

I’m not great with calendars, unless they’re filled with pictures of big breasted hotties lying on the beach I don’t need one, but I’m pretty sure Halloween was over about a month ago, so why the hell is Ashley Tisdale wearing a slutty chick costume? I guess I shouldn’t be upset about it, the question should be why the hell aren’t more chicks wearing this kind of thing? I like it, there’s a college down the street that I think should adopt this as their uniform.

What Do We Make of Damon Lindelof’s Mea Culpa to Lost Fans?

Late on Friday The Daily Beast published an essay from former Lost executive producer Damon Lindelof about Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I . The crux of it: Because Lindelof, a life-long Harry Potter fanatic, found himself hating The Deathly Hallows , he finally understood what it meant to be a fan. Specifically, he finally understood that the irate sect of Lost fans who hated the series’ ending had merit. “I sincerely and genuinely apologize to all those whom I have stripped of their Lost fandom just for complaining about the stuff you didn’t like. It doesn’t make you any less a fan,” Lindelof wrote. “In fact, it just makes you honest. I respect that. And I’m genuinely sorry for ever feeling otherwise.” Which begs the question: Why?

Gay rights protesters demand Obama help end ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’

Thirteen gay rights activists handcuffed themselves to the White House fence Monday afternoon, calling for President Barack Obama to work harder for repeal of the “don't ask, don't tell” ban on gay service members serving openly. Former Army Lt. Dan Choi, the Iraq war veteran and West Point graduate who has become the face of the movement to remove the ban, led the midday protest on the opening day of the lame-duck session of Congress, to put pressure on Democrats and the president to jettison the law before January. Choi and others repeatedly shouted, “I am somebody! I deserve full equality!” as U.S. Park Police approached each protester with a huge pair of red shears. One by one, the police cut through the handcuffs that attached protesters' feet and wrists to the front gate of the White House. The protesters were bound with plastic ties and carried across the sidewalk to Pennsylvania Avenue where they were arrested and detained. U.S. Park Police officers on horses and U.S. Secret Service uniformed officers lined up on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House, creating a barricade for about 75 onlookers, many supportive of the protesters. Several taunted the president, calling for him to come out of the White House and display more courage supporting equal rights for gays. One man shouted, “President Obama is afraid to act.” http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/11/15/dadt.protesters/ added by: TomTucker
