According to CBS New York , authorities aren’t sure if the victim knew his attacker: New York City police said a man was shoved in front of a subway train and killed on Thursday evening. Investigators were looking for a woman who is believed to have pushed the victim, who was struck by a Queens-bound 7 Train at the 40th Street-Lowery Street station. Police told reporters Thursday night that the female suspect was seen mumbling and talking to herself before sitting down on a wooden bench by herself. Authorities said the woman waited until the train came before approaching a man from behind and pushing him. Witnesses said the victim didn’t notice the suspect, who police said was a heavyset Hispanic woman. The unidentified woman was described as wearing a blue, white, and gray ski jacket and Nike sneakers. She fled down stairs following the push, police said. The incident happened around 8 p.m. A heavy police presence remained outside the subway station where the fatality occurred as authorities continued their investigation. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said 7 Train service was being disrupted as a result of the incident. We hope all these random acts of violence cool down soon. Images via tumblr
A black man who raised two sons and mentored countless others, gunned down on his lawn on Christmas day. SMH. This is that bullisht for real. Only 49-years-old, McClinton grew up without a father, but thanks to the Pasadena sports program he created, hundreds of kids counted and depended on him. Via L.A. Times reports : At 11 o’clock on Christmas morning, 18-year law enforcement technician Victor McClinton was shot and killed outside his Pasadena home as he walked a holiday well-wisher and fellow coach to his car in the 1900 block of Newport Avenue. According to the Pasadena Police Department, McClinton was struck by gunfire meant for a former gang member who was in the vicinity but not associated with McClinton or the visiting coach. The target of the shooting, whom police identified as Damion Taylor, 24, was struck and wounded. “There’s no indication to believe McClinton was involved in any type of activity that would warrant anyone to shoot him,” said Deputy Chief Darryl Qualls. Friends and neighbors were still reeling from the news of McClinton’s death. “I was overwhelmed with shock and grief that such a selfless man could be taken,” said Glenn Crawford, 57, who coached in the Brotherhood Community Youth Sports League for 10 years. “It’s just senseless. He would literally take the shirt off his back for you.” On Wednesday, a small memorial of votive candles and flowers was arranged on the sidewalk in front of McClinton’s home. Theresa Overing said she stopped by to bring food and offer her support to the family. “Victor was one of the finest men, he stood taller than the rest,” she said. Overing, a Pasadena resident, said she got to know McClinton through the youth sports league he founded. Her three sons had played basketball there over the last 10 years. “When you run [programs for] hundreds of kids every year, all on volunteer time, there are hundreds of families that have been impacted by Victor,” Overing said. Lorraine Valenzuela, McClinton’s neighbor of seven years, said she was in her living room on Christmas Day when she heard the first shot. “I looked out the window and I saw him drop,” she said. Valenzuela said she heard about eight more shots as she ran to the back of her house. “In general the area is nice,” she said. “We’ve been hearing [gunshots] lately, though.” McClinton is survived by his wife, Shelly, and two adult sons, Kristian and Kameron, an official said. He was assigned to court services. “He was an extraordinary employee,” said Steve Whitmore, a Sheriff’s Department spokesman. “We lost a member of our family. It’s a tragic loss.” McClinton was a graduate of Verbum Dei High School and attended Pasadena City College, majoring in recreation and administration of justice, according to the program’s website. Authorities said they did not have any suspects in the case but were investigating whether there is a link to a second fatal incident that occurred later in the day in the same area. Shortly before being shot, McClinton wished his friends a merry Christmas on Facebook. “Please let’s not forget those less fortunate than us and those who have lost loved ones,” he wrote. “Say a prayer for all. Paul Huebl also says the superstar singer’s killers are caught on tape. “I have evidence that points to Whitney being a victim of a high powered drug dealers who sent thugs to collect a huge debt she owed for drugs,” Huebl says in the new issue of the National Enquirer, which broke the story. Using a network of drug informants and taking another look at the coroner’s report, the PI has pieced together evidence that he’s turning over to the Chicago field office of the FBI, hoping a fresh look from the outside will bring the truth to light. Huebl points to two unknown men who kept showing up at the Beverly Hilton, where Houston was staying, and blending in with her group of hangers on. The day before her death Whitney received a cocaine delivery but was later heard to say, “I’m tired of this sh*t.” The PI says she was referring to being tired of harassed to pay her drug debt, which had reached $1.5 million. On the day she died, Whitney was left alone in her hotel room for 45 minutes and that’s when one or both of the killers slipped into her room and were captured on surveillance video. Uh, sir… As for the coroner’s report that says no foul play was involved in Whitney’s death, the investigator, who has reviewed it thoroughly, strongly disagrees. “Whitney’s body shows classic defense wounds that would have occurred while she was battling for her life,” he told the Enquirer. Huebl details those injuries and the evidence he says points to a struggle occurring during the last minutes of the singing superstar’s life in her hotel room and bathroom. Via NYPost reports : Crazy ex-con Aston Barth, 33, of Central Islip, continued to live with his victim’s body for nearly a week before his mother and brother discovered it Christmas Eve, cops said.Sean Epps said he had repeatedly gone to Barth’s home last week to ask if he had seen their mutual pal, victim Jason Campbell. “The whole time, my friend was in the closet right there,” a stunned Epps saidaid yesterday as he set up a makeshift memorial near Campbell’s home. “I don’t know how you can just stay in there with a body in your bedroom for a week — I didn’t think Aston could do something like this,’’ said another Campbell pal, who only gave her first name, Marquise. Barth — who drew national ridicule in 2007 after robbing a Central Islip bank dressed like a lady despite his thick black mustache — admitted to fatally choking Jason Campbell, a longtime pal, during an argument, authorities said. It wasn’t clear what the pair fought about, but after Barth killed his 35-year-old pal, he tried to decapitate and dismember him with an ax, officials said. Barth only got through one whack, on the neck, before he realized it was too much work and simply put a black garbage bag over Campbell’s head, wrapped him in a blanket and stuffed him in the closet, authorities said. Barth had just been released from prison for the bank robbery in September and returned to live with his mother, Connie, and a younger brother. Connie Barth said her son has been mentally ill since childhood, when he used to behead animals for fun. This is just sick and very sad. Story is crazy on multiple levels. The brother who was originally identified as the shooter during the horrific massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary is finally speaking out, and he’s asking us all to leave his little brother alone. Via the NY Post : Newtown killer Adam Lanza, who shot dead his mother, six other adults and 20 children, is badly missed by his brother. “I am a victim,” Ryan Lanza, 24, told The Post yesterday in a Facebook chat. “I loss [sic] my mom and brother.” In a Facebook photo tribute, Ryan Lanza shared a smiling image of his younger brother, Adam (top photo), lounging in a long-sleeved shirt and a pullover tee. “R.I.P.,” he wrote. “I will miss you bro. I will always love you as long as I live,” Lanza posted. Lanza also posted a picture of his mother, Nancy, 52 (bottom photo). In it, she looks carefree as she sweeps blonde curls away from her eyes and laughs. “I miss you mom. I love you so much. You will be always in my heart,” he wrote. Adam Lanza sprayed bullets into his sleeping mother’s head before he massacred 20 children and six adults at Sandy Hook Elementary School. He killed himself as cops moved in. Ryan Lanza, who once attended Sandy Hook, grieved on Facebook for his brother’s youngest victims. “You all will be truly be missed,” he wrote. “God Bless.” Lanza has joined Facebook victim groups as well as groups that support him called “Support Ryan Lanza” and “Clear Ryan Lanza’s Name.” A number of media outlets wrongly identified Lanza as the shooter because his brother had been carrying his identification during his killing spree. On Lanza’s Facebook page, one poster wrote that Adam Lanza deserved to “rot in hell” and was the “scum of the earth.” Ryan Lanza responded sharply to the post. “I am so tired of people blaming me for something my brother did. I love Adam, his [sic] my brother,” he wrote. “But you have no right to call my brother names when he isn’t here no more. Just let my brother rest in peace. Please. Respect that.” Lanza, who lives in Hoboken, told The Post that a Facebook “friend” who said his brother should “rot in hell” was a stranger. “He is calling my brother a monster when he don’t even know him,” Lanza said. Florida Man Beats His Neighbor To Death With A Hammer A Tampa Bay man is in police custody after he allegedly snuck up on his neighbor and delivered a fatal beating inside their trailer park with a hammer. via Fox News A Tampa-Bay area man who authorities say attacked his neighbor with a hammer has been charged with second degree murder with a weapon. A Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office press release says 28-year-old Jarrett Kyle Brooks was booked into jail late Saturday. Authorities say Brooks approached Jonathan Acree from behind at a Thonotosassa trailer park, striking him in the head and neck multiple times with a hammer. Acree was pronounced dead at the hospital. The sheriff’s office SWAT team was called to the home where Brooks was barricaded. Authorities say he surrendered after tear gas was shot into the mobile home. There was no one else in the trailer. Mother Shot And Killed Outside Brooklyn Hospital While Daughter Suffered Asthma Attack Via NYDailyNews A 32-year-old mother was fatally shot Tuesday outside a Brooklyn hospital where her 8-year-old daughter was being treated for asthma, police sources said. Shalema Gaskin was with her daughter and the child’s father at Brookdale University Hospital when she left to check on another child at her Kings Highway apartment a block away shortly before 3:15 a.m., sources said. The father stayed at the 8-year-old’s bedside. A short time later, a passerby saw Gaskin bleeding from a bullet wound to her neck behind the hospital E. 98th St. and Hegeman Ave., police said. It’s been a sad couple of days for Jenni Rivera’s family, friends, and fans. The 42-year-old Latina superstar died in a tragic plane crash Sunday, December 9 near Monterrey, Mexico. Jenni was traveling on a private jet early Sunday with six others on the flight when it went missing. She was presumed dead when the wreckage was discovered Sunday afternoon with no survivors. According to US Weekly , her family released a statement and shared some information about the singer/reality star you may not have known: “We are feeling devastated. It’s a devastation to the family,” Rivera’s brother, Pedro Rivera Jr., told E! News. “We don’t know how to thank you for all the love you gave to Jenni and to all the family. It is just so special to have you guys as fans.” As family, celebs and fans are mourning her death, Us Weekly remembers the late singer’s life and career with five facts. 1. She sold over 15 million albums worldwide. The singer was nominated in 2003, 2008 and 2010 at the Latin Grammys. Rivera was the first female Banda singer (a brass-based form of traditional Mexican music) to sell out at the Gibson Amphitheater in Universal City, Calif. “I’m happy, I’m very happy for the success that I’ve had, but I’ve worked so hard at it,” Rivera said in April at Billboard’s Latin Music Conference (via CNN). 2. The daughter of Mexican immigrants, she was born and raised in Long Beach, Calif. Rivera, with one sister and and four brothers. 3. She is survived by five children. Rivera became pregnant with her first child in high school. She had three children with first husband Jose Trinidad Marin: Janney, Jacqueline and Michael. After the couple divorced in 1992, she remarried in 1997 and had two children with second husband Juan Lopez: Jenicka and Johnny. “Being a mother by far is my favorite and most important career,” she told Parade in August 2012. “They take priority over anything else.” 4. She was a reality television star. Rivera appeared in and produced mun2′s Jenni Rivera Presents: Chiquis & Raq-C in 2010, I Love Jenni in 2011 and Chiquis ‘n Control in 2012. “People kind of connect and identify with us because we are normal,” Rivera told Parade in August 2012 of her reality show. “We’re just like another other Mexican-American family. We are kind of nutty and silly.” 5. She was set to star in her own ABC show, Jenni. According to Deadline, she was going to star in the self-titled family comedy as a middle-class, single woman raising a family with unique parenting skills.
