Well after t he school dropped charges against him, they’re now announcing that he’s welcome to have his job back. Yale recently sent a statement to BOSSIP saying; Mr. Menafee, who resigned in June after he admitted intentionally breaking a stained glass window, has expressed deep remorse about his actions and informed us that he would like to rescind his resignation. He will be allowed to return to a position in a different setting, starting on Monday, after serving a five-week unpaid suspension (including the time since his resignation on June 21). Yale has already asked the State’s Attorney to drop all charges. We are willing to take these unusual steps given the unique circumstances of this matter, and it is now up to Mr. Menafee whether he wishes to return to Yale. Most Black People Think OJ Is Guilty As everyone who was old enough to recall 1995 (and all those who caught The People Vs. O.J. Simpson ) know, back in the 90’s you couldn’t even TRY to convince the average Black American that The Juice was guilty of chopping up his ex-wife and her suspected lover. But now, a new study shows that that outlook has changed, and most Black people pretty much concede that OJ is as guilty as sin. The filmmaker responsible for O.J.’s upcoming 30 For 30 special breaks it down, via FiveThirtyEight : A striking poll finding was cited often in coverage of the O.J. Simpson murder trial in 1994 and 1995: Most white people thought the former football star was guilty of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman, while roughly the same proportion of black people thought Simpson was innocent. The racial gap in public opinion was one of many elements of the case — along with a long history of conflict between the Los Angeles Police Department and the city’s black residents, and racist statements made by LAPD Detective Mark Fuhrman — that showed race was as important as glove size and forensic evidence. In the two decades since Simpson was acquitted by a majority-black jury, the racial gap has narrowed significantly. In two recent polls, more than 50 percent of black respondents said they thought Simpson was guilty — up from about 20 percent in most polls before, during and right after the trial. The more recent polls were conducted in 2014 and 2015, before the case returned to the public eye this year thanks to two high-profile television series: FX’s “The People v. O.J. Simpson” and ESPN Films’ “O.J.: Made in America.” (ESPN owns FiveThirtyEight.) Both series leave the impression that Simpson killed Brown Simpson and Goldman; he has said he is innocent. Why the shift? Developments in the murder trial and events in Simpson’s life probably have played a role. Zendaya says once upon a time , her publicist told her to sit down and hush when it came to her janky hair and makeup during a photoshoot, saying she should just be happy they even bothered to give a little Black girl a chance… Needless to say, that pub is no longer around. Via NYDN : The 19-year-old actress and singer appears on the July cover of Cosmopolitan and shared with the mag her experiences working with racially insensitive people and her return to Disney. “I didn’t like my hair and makeup one time on a photo shoot, and my publicist told me, ‘You should just be happy with it — they haven’t had a black girl on the cover since forever,’” Coleman said. “She’s no longer my publicist.” The actress and recent face of CoverGirl — who found fame on the series “Shake it Up” — will return to the Disney Channel in a position of more power: co-producer. Coleman will both star and produce the upcoming series “K.C. Undercover,” which she says will hopefully help increase diversity for the network. “The only way I was going to come back to the Disney Channel was if I was in a position of more power,” she said. “One thing that is really important to me is diversity on the channel. Texas Teens Arrested For Spraying Whites Only All Over Rival School’s Fountains Texas Police have arrested five teens for spray painting racist and transphobic graffiti on several buildings at a rival high school as part of a “senior prank” last week according to WFAA reoirts: Christian Joeckel, Ryan Westbrook, Hayden Honolka, Cameron Bodenstab, and Ethan Sigmond were arrested after an investigation into racist, vulgar and anti-transgender graffiti was conducted on the school’s athletic facilities and restrooms. Joekel, Westbrook, and Honolka are all 17 years old; Bodenstab and Sigmond are 18. All are students at Arlington High, a rival school. According to arrest warrant affidavits, the graffiti included the phrase “whites only” spray painted above a water fountain and “trans only” defacing a men’s bathroom door. Vulgar language not appropriate for publication was painted on athletics banners and trash cans near the football stadium, according to an affidavit. Westbrook said the vandalism was part of a “senior prank,” according to an affidavit. He admitted to defacing a jungle gym with several markings, including the words “payback for the parking lot” and “muck f*** fartin martin.” “Anytime you have hateful messages, [it’s] very concerning,” Cook said. “We’re going to look at that to know who did this [and] what is the motivation?” Discuss.
