Jeb Bush Compares Donald Trump’s Ignorant Taco Tweet To Black People Looks like even members of Donald Trump’s own party are just as fed up with the bigot businessman as the rest of America according to CNN reports: Jeb Bush told a Dutch news outlet that Donald Trump’s Cinco de Mayo taco bowl tweet was “insensitive” and compared it to “eating a watermelon and saying, ‘I love African-Americans.’” The former presidential candidate previously announced he won’t vote Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, or likely Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, this November. “What Trump did was so insensitive,” Bush told NRC Handelsblad ahead of a speech he’s set to give at the Nexus Institute in Amsterdam later this week, according to an English translation. “First, not all Hispanics are Mexican. Secondly, not all Hispanics eat tacos. Thirdly, showing your sensitivity by eating an American dish is the most insensitive thing you can do. Samford University Sorority Hands Outs T-Shirts Depicting Slaves Picking Cotton What makes these white frats and sororities think that they can get away with the blatantly racist things they try to pull off on these campuses? WIAT reports that the administration at Samford University in Alabama is offering apologies for some offensive t-shirts that were created by Alpha Delta Pi sorority that CLEARLY show a slaves picking cotton and happily chowing down on a slice of watermelon. A statement from Samford’s Executive Director of Communications, Philip Poole, says that the university apologizes for the offensive image that appeared on the shirts, calling it completely inconsistent with the university’s mission and values. The release also states that the school denied the shirt design after a review process but the shirts were created anyway. University President Andy Westmoreland said in an email to students and employees: “I was repulsed by the image.” Alpha Delta Pi’s national headquarters in Atlanta said in a statement: “The shirt design absolutely contradicts the values of respect and dignity that our organization prides itself on.” Here’s what the University had to say: Samford University apologizes for the offensive image that appeared on T-shirts produced by the Kappa chapter of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. This is completely inconsistent with the university’s mission and values. We are addressing the issue with our Alpha Delta Pi chapter and the international organization and with the vendor who produced the shirt. Despite the university’s denial of the project through our normal review and approval process, the shirts were produced anyway. We are following our procedures as quickly as possible to address this violation of Samford’s values community. There’s never a good time to be a racist, but ESPECIALLY nowadays as we watch police gun down black folks for no damn reason and a guy like Donald Trump rise to power. President Obama Responds To Boris Johnson’s “Dog-Whistle Racist” Comments About His Kenyan Ancestry London Mayor Boris Johnson is being branded a racist after claiming Obama has an “ancestral dislike” for Britain as a result of his “part-Kenyan” heritage. In case you missed it, Obama is currently visiting London, but not everyone has been welcoming. According to Al Jazeera reports : In an opinion essay published in the right-leaning tabloid The Sun , the mayor criticized Obama’s eagerness to urge British voters to remain in the EU and argued that the president may be “anti- British”. Johnson, who is seen as the unofficial leader of the campaign for the UK to leave the EU, claimed in his article that Obama removed a bust of Britain’s war-time prime minister Sir Winston Churchill from the Oval Office shortly after he took office in 2009. “Some said it was a snub to Britain. Some said it was a symbol of the part-Kenyan president’s ancestral dislike of the British empire – of which Churchill had been such a fervent defender” wrote the London mayor. Sheesh… This guy is a piece of work. Fortunately not all Brits are buying his line of reasoning: Tory MP Sir Nicholas Soames, who is the grandson of Sir Winston Churchill, said Johnson’s comments were “appalling” and “totally wrong on almost everything”. “Time and time again, his judgment is awry and he shows in this article a remarkable disregard for the facts, the truth and for all judgment,” he told LBC radio. “I don’t think Boris has the stature to be leader.” Sir Nicholas also said it was inconceivable that Churchill would not have welcomed the views of Obama. John McDonnell, Labour Party’s shadow chancellor, suggested that Johnson’s remarks were “racist”. “Mask slips again,” he tweeted. “Boris part-Kenyan Obama comment is yet another example of dog-whistle racism from senior Tories. He should withdraw it.” Obama responded to Johnson’s comments in a press conference revealing he still keeps a bust of Churchill, but moved it in favor of one of MLK: Talking next to British Prime Minister David Cameron, Obama said he loved Churchill and still had a bust of the British leader in his White House private residence. “Right outside the door of the Treaty Room, so that I see it every day – including on weekends when I’m going into that office to watch a basketball game – the primary image I see is a bust of Winston Churchill,” he said. “It’s there voluntarily because I can do anything on the second floor. I love Winston Churchill. Love the guy.” Obama said there was a bust of Churchill in the Oval Office during the presidency of his predecessor George W Bush but he decided that he would have a bust of the civil rights leader Martin Luther King in his office instead. “I thought it was appropriate – and I think most people in the United Kingdom might agree – that as the first African-American president, it might be appropriate to have a bust of Dr Martin Luther King in my office,” he said. Black Women’s Book Club Wins $11 Million Lawsuit Against Napa Valley Wine Train A Black women’s book club group were harshly removed from a California vineyard tour after white patrons accused them of being too loud on their train ride. According to Reuters reports: Eleven women have reached a settlement with a California wine train company they sued for $11 million for racial discrimination after they were kicked off the train for being too loud, their lawyer said on Monday. Members of the Sistahs on the Reading Edge Book Club came to an “amicable settlement” with the Napa Valley Wine Train company on Thursday, six months after filing a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Northern California, their attorney Waukeen McCoy said. “We hope that other businesses learn from this case and implement diversity and sensitivity training for employees,” McCoy said in an email to Reuters. McCoy did not disclose the terms of the settlement. The 11 women, 10 of whom are African-American, were ordered off the vintage train on Aug. 22 after other passengers complained the group was too loud. The expulsion sparked widespread anger on social media. The controversy unfolded as the United States grapples with persistent issues of racism and discrimination following high-profile police killings of unarmed black men over the last two years, which triggered waves of protest and a renewed civil rights movement under the banner of “Black Lives Matter.” Justice!!!!
