‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Chinese Poster Shrinks John Boyega, Completely Cuts Out Lupita Nyong’o What the hell is it about a Black man playing a stormtrooper that has Star Wars fanatics’ panties in such a twisted up bunch? On top of having to deal with unnecessary backlash and death threats, actor John Boyega also has to deal with his role being diminished over in China. Per Yahoo! The biggest discrepancy between the American and Chinese poster is the shrinking of Boyega’s Finn and the positioning of his body. Boyega, who plays a lead role, is lowered down from the original poster — where he’s the third largest character after Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren and Daisy Ridley’s Rey — and tucked under Harrison Ford’s gun-toting Han Solo and Carrie Fisher’s Leia, and behind a much larger BB-8. Meanwhile, other non-white characters, including Oscar Isaac, who plays rebel pilot Poe Dameron and Lupita Nyong’o, who plays alien pirate Maz Kanata, as well as Chewbacca have been cut out altogether. They’re replaced by X-wings, TIE fighters and rows of Stormtroopers. SMFH is really that serious?
Former Black Cop Suspected Of Faking Racist Letter Wow. This guy is an embarrassment to the race. Like it’s not bad enough for those folks out there actually being discriminated against we got people like this guy making up ish… According to NY Daily News reports : Clive Higgins, 50, of Naugatuck, was arrested Wednesday after investigators said the letter that was sent to Bridgeport Police Department in Connecticut was a hoax. Back in February, Higgins said he found a letter that made several racist statements, including one that black police officers belong in the toilet. The letter, titled “White Power,” was found in several officers’ mailboxes. Suspiciously, the letter was written on official police department letterhead, which is not available to the general public. Higgins surrendered to state police Wednesday morning and was charged with second-degree false reporting of an incident. He was released and is due to appear in Superior Court on Dec. 16, according to Fox 61 News. SMH. What do you think an appropriate punishment would be? We’re guessing homeboy got caught because he used the letterhead AND referred to a case that involved HIM! The letter also referenced a highly publicized case involving three police officers, including Higgins. The officers were caught on camera kicking and beating a man in May 2011. Higgins, a 12-year veteran of the department, was the only black officer involved, and was the only officer acquitted of brutality charges. The other two officers, Elson Morales and Joseph Lawlor, pleaded guilty to federal misdemeanors. They resigned from the department and face up to a year in jail. RZA Says America Needs To Be More Open To Having A Female President During a recent interview with Rolling Stone , RZA voiced his staunch support for equality in politics when it comes to getting a woman into the White House as the President of the United States . “I would be onboard with [a female president] because I understand that the world has yin and yang, and that would be very interesting for our country in the sense of its history,” RZA says. “Seeing Barack Obama become president echoes the struggle for blacks to get out of slavery and then to see that somebody, 100-plus years later, can grow to be in that position. But even after slavery was abolished, women’s rights were still not and they still had to fight for the right to vote. Why not take it another step further and give a female a chance?” The rapper invoked the Declaration of Independence again when relaying his support for a female president. “When it says ‘All men are created equal,’ look at what that means: That means black men, brown men, red men, yellow men, white men, wo-men. She’s a form of a man as well,” RZA says. “Everybody starts off as that same cluster of cells, so I’m into that. I would support that.” The producer-rapper stopped short at endorsing Hillary Clinton or Carly Fiorina — “I haven’t read into [Hillary’s] policies and what she’s going to hook up” — but says that the impact of electing a female president would be as significant as Obama’s win. Police Chief Thomas Burke Caught Using N-Word In Book Drive Email Police Chief Thomas Burke was sworn into office on Monday to ensure the safety of the residents of Farrell, Pennsylvania. Only problem is, he just got caught sending an n-word laden email to his colleagues asking them to donate money to a local book drive. According to WICU , Councilwoman Stephanie Sheffield ain’t with it. Not even a lil’ bit: “I spoke with him this morning, and I immediately said dismissal,” Councilwoman Sheffield adds. “[Burke] came and knocked on my door this morning with an apology letter and how he is very familiar with our community and our area. [Burke said] he does use the ‘N’ Word very often because that’s the way it is in our area. Jury Finds Exonerated Black Man Was Framed By Cops, Awards Him Millions Another day, another “cops frame black man” story. Donald Gates was only 37 years old when he was convicted of raping and killing a 21-year-old Georgetown univerity student in 1981. Gates spent 27 long ass years in prison until DNA testing confirmed his innocence in 2009. Naturally, Gates slapped the city with a civil suit and now that suit has come to an end with the jury finding Gates was indeed framed by cops and deserves millions. How much? $16.65 million! Via ABC News The District of Columbia agreed Thursday to pay $16.65 million to a man who spent 27 years in prison for a rape and murder he didn’t commit. The amount is about $617,000 for every year Donald Eugene Gates spent in prison. Gates was freed in 2009 after DNA evidence cleared him in the 1981 rape and murder of 21-year-old Georgetown University student Catherine Schilling. A federal jury on Wednesday found that two city police officers fabricated and withheld evidence in the case, and city officials agreed to a settlement Thursday as the jury was getting ready to decide damages in the case. Gates said in a telephone interview Thursday that he was “elated” with the settlement. “Today, justice was served. Long-awaited justice was served,” Gates said. Gates said he’s been dealing with medical issues and hasn’t had a social life since he left prison, but he said he does go to church and that it was God who “walked with me through all those years” in prison and since then. Of the settlement, he said: “I’m going to put it to good use, that’s for sure.” Gates was already a millionaire after he received $1.4 million from the US government thanks to the federal law that grants wrongly imprisoned folks $50,000 for every year they were locked up. FBI Arrest White Virginia Men For Planning To Bomb Black Churches The FBI has arrested two men they say were plotting to bomb Black churches in order to start a “race war” according to NBC 12 reports: Robert Doyle and Ronald Chaney “ascribe to a white supremacy version of the Asatru faith,” according to court documents. The FBI says Doyle held a meeting on September 27 at his Chesterfield home to discuss “shooting or bombing the occupants of black churches and Jewish synagogues.” The FBI says several vehicles were present at the home on that day, including one registered to Chaney. According to the FBI, Doyle and Chaney met with an undercover agent posing as an illegal arms dealer on October 25. The two allegedly ordered “an automatic weapon, explosives, and a pistol with a silencer.” On November 8, the FBI says Chaney met with the undercover agent to make the purchase, and was placed under arrest. Doyle was arrested later that day. The FBI also says the two men were plotting to rob and kill a local jewelry store dealer with the help of a third suspect, Charles Daniel Halderman. The FBI says they recorded meetings where Doyle outlined the plan, which included robbing an armored car and attacking a gun store owner in Virginia, in order to “purchase land, stockpile weapons, and train for the coming race war.” Halderman was arrested on November 8 and charged with conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery. Fight Breaks Out Over Confederate Flag On Truck One thing is for sure, some people are EXTRA passionate about keeping their Confederate flags . One group of men outside a Salt Lake City hotel decided they were going to force two white men to either move their car or remove a Confederate flag magnet off of their car — to the point where things got physical. Now, one of the victims is pushing to have the beating labeled a hate crime . Via NYDN : Investigators have yet to find the six or seven unidentified African-American men seen beating up two white men outside the Red Lion Hotel in a YouTube video, Salt Lake City Police Det. Cody Lougy told the Daily News Thursday night. Prosecutors will decide whether they follow one victim’s wishes and charge the suspects with hate crimes in the Sunday morning assault, Lougy noted. But the three-by four-inch decal touched off an argument that turned physical, he said. The group can be heard in the video telling one of the white men to move his truck and saying that one of them is “mad he has a f—— Confederate flag on the back of his s—.” A man with a Halloween mask on top of his head knocks one of the white men down with one punch before the group gangs up on the other one and beats him up in the footage. Neither man was hospitalized after the attack, according to Lougy. The victims say that had roles been reversed, they would definitely be charged with a hate crime. So they want the same treatment for this instance: The pair of men from Wyoming had come to town for the Garth Brooks concert Saturday night, one of the victims, Kelly Leeper, told the Deseret News. They went to the show with one of their friends who is black, and the First Amendment gives him the right to display Confederate imagery even though it can be controversial to do so, he said. Leeper wants the authorities to charge the suspects with hate crimes and he’ll “be damned if I ever come to Salt Lake again without bringing my gun,” he told KTSU-TV. “If the situation was reversed, and if there was a large group of white males who confronted two black gentlemen who, hypothetically, had a sticker on their vehicle that said, ‘Black lives matter,’ it would be dubbed a hate crime in a heartbeat,” Leeper said in the Deseret News. “So where’s the double standard there?” Hmmmm…do you agree? They definitely didn’t need to attack the men, especially if neither of them said anything to the group to begin with. But should this be treated as a race-based attack?

Yale Chapter Of Frat With Troubled Past Accused Of “White Girls” Only Party Anybody surprised to see SAE back in the headline s again? Via NY Post reports : A Yale fraternity instituted a “white girls only” policy at a weekend rager, a student at the Ivy League university is charging on social media. “I’d just like to take a moment to give a shoutout to the member of Yale’s Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter who turned away a group of girls from their party last night, explaining that admittance was on a ‘White Girls Only’ basis,” sophomore Neema Githere posted to Facebook on Saturday. The post prompted several comments from other students, alleging that the same Yale fraternity had racially discriminated against them as well. Yale SAE members, including chapter president Grant Mueller, denied the accusations. “Obviously I was shocked and flabbergasted [at the idea] that anyone in SAE would even have these words come from their mouths,” Mueller told the Yale Daily News. “It’s just kind of upsetting for me because we try to be so incredibly accepting and take pride in our diversity.” Mueller said he reached out to two Yale deans, and plans to address the allegations during a forum at the Afro-American Cultural Center on Monday.
