Did You Know: President Obama Believes America Is Less Racially Divided Than Before He Took Office

Do you agree? President Obama Says The U.S. Is Less Racially Divided We’ve been of the mind that racism has been more virulent since President Obama took office but he disagrees. According to NY Post reports : President Obama says the United States is less racially divided despite the tensions raging from deadly police shootings and emotional protests. Compared to six years ago when he made history as the first black president, Obama says American race relations are on the upswing. “I actually think that it’s probably in its day-to-day interactions less racially divided,” Obama told National Public Radio. Americans, however, seem to disagree. A Bloomberg Politics survey out this month found a majority of Americans – 53 percent – feel interactions between white and black communities have deteriorated since Obama took office. The choke-hold death of Eric Garner on Staten Island and fatal shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo. sparked nationwide outrage when the white officers in both cases were not criminally charged. Obama has sought to channel the frustration into a national campaign for better police relations. Americans have been divided by race over the outcome. The majority of white Americans agreed with the decision not to charge Ferguson Officer Darren Wilson in Brown’s death, while nearly all blacks disagreed. A slight majority of whites, however, disagreed with a grand jury’s decision not to charge Office Daniel Pantaleo in New York, according to Bloomberg’s survey. Do you think he’s right? Race Matters: N. Korea Says President Obama Is A “Monkey In A Tropical Forest”, Blames U.S. For Internet Crash

SMH N. Korea Refers To Obama As “Monkey”, Blames U.S. For Online Outage Via NYPost North Korea compared President Barack Obama to a monkey, and blamed the U.S. on Saturday for shutting down its Internet amid the hacking row over the comedy “The Interview.” North Korea has denied involvement in a crippling cyberattack on Sony Pictures but has expressed fury over the comedy depicting an assassination of its leader Kim Jong Un. Sony Pictures initially called off the release citing threats of terror attacks against U.S. movie theaters. Obama criticized Sony’s decision, and the movie has opened this week. On Saturday, the North’s powerful National Defense Commission, the country’s top governing body led by Kim, said that Obama was behind the release of “The Interview.” It described the movie as illegal, dishonest and reactionary. “Obama always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest,” an unidentified spokesman at the commission’s Policy Department said in a statement carried by the official Korean Central News Agency. It wasn’t the first time North Korea has used crude insults against Obama and other top U.S. and South Korean officials. Earlier this year, the North called U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry a wolf with a “hideous” lantern jaw and South Korean President Park Geun-hye a prostitute. In May, the North’s news agency published a dispatch saying Obama has the “shape of a monkey.” No surprise. No respect. Image via AP

People Ain’t Isht: “Funny” Singer Croons Offensive Song About Mike Brown’s Death At Cops Charity Event [Video]

You CANNOT be f***ing serious According to TMZ reports : The Glendale, CA Elks Lodge is investigating a shocking incident that went down in the club a week ago Monday, when a performer sang a song celebrating the death of Michael Brown … for an audience that included a number of retired and current cops … and TMZ has the video. The song was a parody of “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.” Gary Fishell, the performer and a member of the Lodge, changed the lyrics, which include: Michael Brown learned a lesson about a messin’ With a badass policeman And he’s bad, bad Michael Brown Baddest thug in the whole damn town Badder than old King Kong Meaner than a junkyard dog Two men took to fightin’ And Michael punched in through the door And Michael looked like some old Swiss cheese His brain was splattered on the floor And he’s dead, dead Michael Brown Deadest man in the whole damn town His whole life’s long gone Deader than a roadkill dog The event was the capper for a charity golf event, thrown by retired LAPD Officer Joe Myers, a 32 year veteran who left the force in 2007. We’re told 50-60 people attended the dinner, and about half were cops, most of whom were retired. The others were civilians. Singer Gary Fishell is a P.I. who once worked as an investigator for the Federal Government. His lawyer tells TMZ, Fishell now realizes the song was “off color and in poor taste.” The lawyer adds, “He’s a goofball who writes funny songs.” We asked why Fishell would sing this in a room full of cops, and the lawyer replied, “He thought the room would get a kick out of it.” 2014 doesn’t have any more f***s left to give. Defends Iggy Azalea After Q-Tip’s Twitter Rant This weekend, hip-hop legend Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest unleashed a poignant series of tweets addressed to Iggy Azalea in an attempt to school her on why she has been on the receiving end of hip-hop’s collective vitriol this past year. You Can’t Be Serious: Greedy Illinois Woman Files Trademark For Eric Garner’s Dying Words ‘I Can’t Breathe’

People don’t see Black or White , only green! Woman Files Trademark Application For I Can’t Breathe An Illinois woman is seeking to trademark the dying last words of the New York City man who gasped “I can’t breathe” while being arrested by NYPD cops for selling loose cigarettes. Via The Smoking Gun reports: In a December 13 application, Catherine Crump petitioned the United States Patent and Trademark Office to register the phrase for use on hoodies and t-shirts for men, women, boys, girls, and infants. The 57-year-old Crump, who lives in Waukegan, a city 40 miles north of Chicago, contends that she has been using “I can’t breathe” for commercial purposes since “at least as early” as August 18, one month after Eric Garner, 43, died following a confrontation with police on Staten Island. A video of the encounter captured Garner repeatedly saying, “I can’t breathe” as Officer Daniel Pantaleo wrapped his arm around the 350-pound suspect’s neck. Other officers sought to pin Garner to the sidewalk so he could be handcuffed. A Staten Island grand jury earlier this month declined to indict Pantaleo in connection with Garner’s death. During nationwide marches, participants have chanted “I can’t breathe” as part of protests against police brutality. In an interview, Crump said that she had “nothing to do with the Garner family,” and had not spoken to them about her trademark bid. While claiming that her purpose for marketing “I can’t breathe” garments was not to make money, she declined to disclose what other reason there was for her trademark filing (which cost $325). Three similar entrepreneurs have filed to trademark the phrase “Hands Up Don’t Shoot” for use on clothing items. Each of those USPTO applications was filed within three weeks of the August 9 death of Michael Brown, the unarmed teenager who was shot to death by a cop in Ferguson, Missouri. Do you think people should be profiting from the death of Eric Garner and other Black lives taken too soon?? Continue reading

South Bend Uniform Company is currently selling “Breathe Easy” shirts, reports RTV6. The black t-shirts with white text feature “Breathe Easy” written at the top, followed by an illustration of a police badge and then the words “Don’t Break The Law.” According to the company’s website, it is owned and operated by Corporal Jason Barthel of the Mishawaka Police Department. Bill Cosby thinks the white media is against him ! Bill Cosby Says He Only Expects The Black Media To Stay Neutral Via TMZ reports: Bill Cosby is pleading with the media to stay neutral in reporting on the multiple rape allegations made against him … but the legendary comedian strongly suggested the white media wasn’t giving him a fair shake. When asked about the allegations, Cosby told Page Six, “Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind.” Bill reportedly sounded upbeat on the phone … and said, “Love and the strength of womanhood” when asked how his wife is holding up through all of this. He added, “Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love.” That’s where he cut off the conversation … saying “they don’t want me talking to the media.” Do you there’s a racial bias with the reporting of Bill Cosby’s recent rape accusations??

Race Matters: Black Secret Service Agents Allege That The Agency’s History Of Racism Puts The President At Risk

SMH … Black Secret Service Agents File Discrimination Lawsuits A new report is highlighting an ongoing issue in the President’s security detail; racism. According to several black former secret service agents, the agency has a longstanding history of racism and discrimination that could be putting the Commander In Chief at risk. The Daily Beast reports: The track record of the U.S. Secret Service in protecting President Barack Obama has come under intense scrutiny in recent months due to several major security lapses, the most recent of which prompted the resignation in October of Secret Service Director Julia Pierson. A recently released Department of Homeland Security report about that incident determined that a number of “performance, organizational, technical and other” factors contributed to the security breach. What is not mentioned in that DHS report is another long-running issue within the Secret Service—one which, according to several experts, creates the conditions for a breakdown in agency morale that could ultimately compromise the security of President Obama. That threat is embodied in a long-running lawsuit filed by a group of African-American Secret Service agents who allege the agency’s culture is replete with racism. “If the black Secret Service agents’ legal claims related to racism in the agency are true, then there is a threat to the president’s security because he is a black man,” says Matthew Fogg, a retired chief deputy U.S. Marshal who in 1998 won a multimillion-dollar jury verdict in a racial discrimination lawsuit filed against his agency. “If they are treating black people differently, then how can that not affect the president?” Fogg also is party to one of two pending class-action discrimination cases filed by black federal agents against the U.S. Marshals Service. The mere fact that the most qualified agents are not getting promoted within an agency due to racial factors—as is alleged in both the the Secret Service and U.S. Marshals litigation—indicates, Fogg says, that race is an issue in the quality of protection being provided to individuals, including the president. What do YOU think??? Do you think members of the Secret Service could be slow to protect the First Black President of the United States???
