After Nicki Minaj was insulted by a Hot 97 radio DJ, Lil Wayne made an executive decision and pulled his Young Money queen from the station’s Summer Jam concert . When MTV News caught up with Tunechi to talk about the incident for the first time, he didn’t throw stones or hurl insults at the New York City station, but simply stressed the importance of a certain seven-letter word. “That’s a female; first and foremost Nicki Minaj is a female. I don’t know what anyone else believes, but I believe females deserve the ultimate respect at all times no matter, when or where or how,” the multiplatinum rapper told MTV News on Saturday while backstage at Hot 107.9 ‘s Birthday Bash in Atlanta. Minaj was slotted to close out the yearly rap extravaganza on June 3 and was planning to bring out Nas, Lauryn Hill, Foxy Brown, Cam’ron and Lil Wayne during her set. That plan went south after outspoken Hot 97 personality Peter Rosenberg downed Nicki’s pop single “Starships” in front of concertgoers, prompting Wayne to pull the plug on all YMCMB Summer Jam performances, including Nicki’s and DJ Khaled’s. “As soon as she called me and told me she felt disrespected, I just declined everything,” Weezy told us. “I pulled her from the show because … no person that works with me will be disrespected in my presence as long as I’m on this planet.” Wayne feels Nicki should have gotten the royal treatment from the radio station and its employees. “I expect the red carpet, in her manner; the pink carpet should be laid out for her,” he said. “It’s just an executive move, no salt, no bad feelings, no hard feelings.” Many, including Hot 97 veteran DJ Funkmaster Flex, criticized Minaj for not taking the stage, but Lauryn Hill issued a statement supporting Nicki’s decision. “I don’t have details on exactly what transpired between the station and the artists, but I do support artists standing by their beliefs and walking with integrity,” Weezy agrees. “I feel like a woman should be respected at all times, therefore I made the right decision,” he said. I was closing my door when I got a tweet, “@******* & @JordanKidrauhlB are our two winners of the encounter with Justin Bieber! Congratulations!” Oh my god. I was the happiest man in the world! I got to the radio station. There wasn’t 50, 100 fans waiting outside, there was 300 fans in heat! I entered the radio station and said my name. We got into the station and waited for Justin. (20 min..30..50 min..lol) and there in a mirror, I perceived thousands upon thousands of pap’s flash! My heart started beating fast, very fast! Justin comes down to the studio with a smile, all the fans say hello to him with the smile! He begins the interview, and he throws candy at us! The interview ended and then we went to take pictures. His bodyguard tells us to come over, and I was right next to Justin. I said, “I love your shoes!” and then he said, “Oh thank you.” Oh my god! I had just spoken to my idol! I went home happy and proud of my day! The next day I got up all excited! I left for the Universal Music studio, where he had to give a concert through the balcony and meet his fans! I arrived at Universal and I saw more than 400 fans who was waiting! I headed back to the entrance, and a man came looking for me. There was about 20 fans who won to see him inside. I saw Kenny, Moshe, Teddy (a friend of Justin) and I thought, “Okay, Justin is there” and he entered the room! He says, “Hello nice to meet you, I’m Justin” to all his fans! But it turns out there’s one young politically minded teen who isn’t so keen on Obama’s recent show of support to same-sex marriage . 14-Year-Old Internet Radio Host Caiden Cowger Declares “Obama Is Making Kids Gay A vehemently anti-gay radio show host is making headlines with his latest proclamation that Obama is “making kids gay” — and he’s only 14 years old. Caiden Cowger of West Virginia hosts the “Caiden Cowger” Internet radio show twice a week, where he gabs about his staunchly conservative political beliefs. During one of his recent broadcasts, which are syndicated by Spreaker Web Radio, the teen explains how he is “sickened” by watching some of his friends “turn to” homosexuality, which he says the Obama administration encourages. “They are encouraging kids to think, ‘Well, you know what? They’re talking about being a homosexual and they’re saying there’s nothing wrong with being gay, so you know what, I think I might try that out for a little bit,” Cowger says. “That is what’s going on!” The teen adds that the President should be urging young people to turn away from homosexuality, “a perverted belief.” Cowger added that he doesn’t believe in bullying his gay peers, but that the definition of bullying has been skewed. “When you’re trying to teach them the word of God and they consider that bullying … I find that a big problem, not being allowed to convert other people to my religion,” he said. On his show, the teen has interviewed former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain and John Raese, a Republican running to represent West Virginia in the U.S. Senate. Cowger identifies himself as a Pentecostal Christian on his Facebook page, where he also names Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck as role models. In March, Cowger announced he is writing a book, “Restoring America.” SMH man… We’d say this kid is a future wankster, but we’re pretty sure his classmates would tell us he already is one!
