Born Marshall Bruce Mathers III, Eminem has released his new single “Not Afraid” from his upcoming “Recovery” album that will hit stores on June 22. Winning 11 Grammy’s to date, this new single will surely be a big hit. Tracking back to his old songs, Eminem expressed so much anger in his songs but “Not Afraid”  is different. Lyrics: Not Afraid.. (Hook) I’m not afraid to take a stand Everybody come take my hand We’ll walk this road together, through the storm Whatever weather, cold or warm Just let you know that, you’re not alone Hola if you feel that you’ve been down the same road (Intro) Yeah, It’s been a ride… I guess i had to go to that place to get to this one Now some of you might still be in that place If you’re trying to get out, just follow me I’ll get you there (Verse 1) You can try and read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay ‘em But you won’t take this thing out these words before I say ‘em Cause ain’t no way I’m let you stop me from causing mayhem When I say ‘em or do something I do it, I don’t give a damn What you think, I’m doing this for me, so fuck the world Feed it beans, it’s gassed up, if a thing’s stopping me I’mma be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtedly And all those who look down on me I’m tearing down your balcony No if ands or buts don’t try to ask him why or how can he From Infinite down to the last Relapse album he’s still sh*t and Whether he’s on salary, paid hourly Until he bows out or he shit’s his bowels out of him Whichever comes first, for better or worse He’s married to the game, like a f**k you for christmas His gift is a curse, forget the earth he’s got the urge To pull his d*ck from the dirt and f**k the universe (Hook) I’m not afraid to take a stand Everybody come take my hand We’ll walk this road together, through the storm Whatever weather, cold or warm Just let you know that, you’re not alone Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road (Verse 2) Ok quit playin’ with the scissors and sh*t, and cut the cr*p I shouldn’t have to rhyme these words in the rhythm for you to know it’s a rap You said you was king, you lied through your teeth For that f**k your feelings, instead of getting crowned you’re getting capped And to the fans, I’ll never let you down again, I’m back I promise to never go back on that promise, in fact Let’s be honest, that last Relapse CD was “ehhhh” Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground Relax, I ain’t going back to that now All I’m tryna say is get back, click-clack BLAOW Cause I ain’t playin’ around There’s a game called circle and I don’t know how I’m way too up to back down But I think I’m still tryna figure this crap out Thought I had it mapped out but I guess I didn’t This fucking black cloud’s still follow’s me around But it’s time to exercise these demons These motherfu–ers are doing jumping jacks now! (Hook) I’m not afraid to take a stand Everybody come take my hand We’ll walk this road together, through the storm Whatever weather, cold or warm Just let you know that, you’re not alone Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road (Bridge) And I just can’t keep living this way So starting today, I’m breaking out of this cage I’m standing up, Imma face my demons I’m manning up, Imma hold my ground I’ve had enough, now I’m so fed up Time to put my life back together right now (Verse 3) It was my decision to get clean, I did it for me Admittedly i probably did it subliminally for you So I could come back a brand new me, you helped see me through And don’t even realise what you did, believe me you I been through the ringer, but they can do little to the middle finger I think I got a tear in my eye, I feel like the king of My world, haters can make like bees with no stingers, and drop dead No more beef flingers, no more drama from now on, I promise To focus soley on handling my responsibility’s as a father So I solemnly swear to always treat this roof like my daughters and raise it You couldn’t lift a single shingle lonely Cause the way I feel, I’m strong enough to go to the club Put a ??? and lift the whole liquor counter up Cause I’m raising the bar, I shoot for the moon But I’m too busy gazing at stars, I feel amazing and (Hook) I’m not afraid to take a stand Everybody come take my hand We’ll walk this road together, through the storm Whatever weather, cold or warm Just let you know that, you’re not alone Holla if you feel that you’ve been down the same road Eminem’s New Single “Not Afraid” Lyrics is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Kanye West ‘Cleveland Show’ Preview Pops Up Online

‘Kenny’ West challenges Cleveland Jr. to Auto-Tune-assisted rap-off in upcoming episode. By Jayson Rodriguez Kanye West and Cleveland Jr. on “The Cleveland Show” Photo: FOX Kanye West by any other name is still not to be messed with. Just ask Cleveland Jr. from “The Cleveland Show.” The animated series’ soft-spoken teen puts the move on a classmate in a clip from an unaired episode circulating online. Things get interesting when Cleveland Jr. finds out his crush is dating the Chicago rapper, who voices his own character. “It’s Kenny sippin’ Henny/ Rhymes slicker than Teflon,” West raps, during a musical confrontation with Cleveland. “The school been high, I’m the black Zac Efron/ And when I meet a shorty, you know we going backwards/ Pulling more tail than my man John Edwards/ Lumpy, chunky, boogie-eating chump, B/ Acting out of place like Hootie singing country/ Leave my girl alone and get your own tenderoni/ Come on, who are we kidding?/ You’re used to being lonely.” Earlier this year, it was reported that West would appear in an episode scheduled to air May 2 on Fox. According to show co-creator Rich Appel, West is a longtime fan of “Family Guy,” for which Appel was co-executive producer. “The Cleveland Show” writers developed a concept for the rapper and pitched it to him, Appel said. West, to their surprise, agreed. The multiplatinum artist, however, is less successful in his animated universe than he is in real life. “Kenny” West is still trying to find his way. In the limited preview, after serving Cleveland Jr. in rhyme, Kenny challenges the youngster to an Auto-Tune-enhanced sing-off, only to discover his counterpart can “sound like a robot” — with no aid. As of press time, the rapper was only scheduled for one guest spot. But Appel told People magazine in March that he would welcome West’s return to the show anytime, heaping praise on the MC for his contributions. “We just recorded him in the booth, and he was fantastic,” Appel said. “Once he read it a couple times through, he just owned the character, which I guess isn’t hard since he was named Kenny West. He said he’d be glad to [be back]. I said we could write him into the next 21 episodes!” What do you think about Kanye’s animated alter ego? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Kanye West

Guru Associate Black Jesus Recalls Introducing Late MC To Solar

Rapper calls the producer an ‘opportunist’ who preyed on Guru’s vulnerability. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway Black Jesus Photo: MTV News When it comes to Guru’s musical legacy, critics and fans alike point to the rapper’s work with DJ Premier in Gang Starr as evidence of his mark on hip-hop. The letter issued to the media after the MC’s death last week, however, didn’t even mention Primo by name. In the alleged comments, Guru pronounced himself to be the sole founder of Gang Starr. Admirers of the group cried foul over the slight. Solar, Guru’s new producer and spokesman, was accused of penning the letter, a claim he denied to MTV News . Fans wondered: Who is Solar? And how did he meet Guru? It turns out Guru met Solar when he was introduced by a mutual acquaintance, an artist named Black Jesus, who was signed to the Gang Starr rapper’s label. Now aligned with Wu-Tang Clan, Black Jesus told MTV News he first met Solar in the early 2000s. Both men are members of the Nation of Gods and Earths, a religious sect, and were introduced at a monthly rally in Harlem. According to Black Jesus, they discovered in one another a shared passion for music, and the rapper invited the budding producer to visit him in the studio. In the studio, working on a track titled “I’m Saying,” Black Jesus said he found Solar to be “arrogant” and a “control freak” after clashing with another producer. The rapper said he wrote the experience off to Solar being “starstruck” over Guru. Eventually, Solar started working with Guru, as the rapper was looking for beats for several projects outside of Gang Starr. Black Jesus recalled the time and emphatically denied Solar’s claims that the producer and Guru had a dynamic creative chemistry. “That’s exaggerating the whole situation,” Black Jesus told MTV News’ Sway. “The chemistry, ’cause [Guru] is Gang Starr, that’s his sound. … He did his Jazzmatazz thing and did different things, but the whole thing was, Guru was producing for me. At the time he was doing [Gang Starr’s] The Ownerz, he was working on my project. There was a chemistry we had. With the buzz, they kind of hated and didn’t want to go with the chemistry. A lot of people thought that wasn’t what he was supposed to be doing.” As Solar also revealed, Black Jesus said Guru had a dark cloud hanging over him in his later years, battling problems with drinking and drugs. He also suggested the divide between Guru and Premier wasn’t as deep as people speculated. Black Jesus said it was similar to what any longtime group experiences: personal jealousies and minor creative differences. Solar, he explained, was an “opportunist” who preyed on Guru’s vulnerability. “Guru complained to me a few times, ‘Oh, Primo this,’ ” Black Jesus said. “I looked it at like, ‘That’s you and your crew. That’s not really my business. You need to put aside your differences and put out a Gang Starr album,’ I told him. I think it was the fact, if you want me to be honest, it was the beats. ‘Cause he told me a couple times: When Guru steps off and they’re not doing Gang Starr, he does his Jazzmatazz albums, and Primo goes off and hits off Jadakiss, Nas and Hov. But I always felt [Guru and Premier] made their best music together.” Share your memories of Guru and Gang Starr in the comments below. Related Artists Gang Starr

Lil Wayne Talks Sex, Children In Pre-Jail Interview

In Ozone magazine, Weezy says having four kids with four different mothers isn’t ‘any concern of anybody’s.’ By Jayson Rodriguez Lil Wayne (file) Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne ‘s larger than life persona continues to keep fans intrigued even while the rapper is behind bars. The MC is set to grace the cover of Ozone magazine for its sixth annual “Sex Issue,” even though he’s currently serving his year-long jail sentence on weapons charges . In the issue (which was not on the magazine’s website at press time, but reps confirmed the article’s accuracy to MTV News), Wayne touches on a variety of subjects, ranging from the mothers of his children — which include actress Lauren London and singer Nivea — to his rumored relationship with Shanell, an artist signed to his Young Money label. Regarding his four children with four different women, Weezy bristled at any criticism tossed his way about fathering kids with different mothers. “I don’t think what people think should be any concern of anybody’s,” he said. “It’s definitely not a concern of mine. I’d be crazy if it was and you’re crazy if you are. But that goes back to me not caring about what people think or say. They wanna be [baby mama] number five, six, and seven, so …” In just over 12 months, from late 2008 to the end of 2009, Wayne had three children born to him. But in the interview, he wouldn’t confirm if he was in a rebellious phase or intentionally planned to have multiple children as close to the same time. “You’d have to be a woman that’s with me to know what phase I was going through,” he explained. “If I was to answer that question for you or for the world or for this magazine, then I’d be the dumbest n—a on the planet.” Recently, prior to entering prison, Wayne dodged rumors that he was intimately involved with Shanell, who worked closely with the rapper on his rock-leaning effort, Rebirth . Shanell denied a romance between her and Wayne when she spoke to MTV News in February. Wayne echoed the singer’s comments, telling Ozone the pregnancy rumors surrounding him and Shanell are impossible. “How could that be? We’ve never had sex,” he said. “How could she be pregnant from me? You’ve got to have sex to be pregnant. That’s one of the things you have to do. I don’t understand how people’s brains work. You know? I’m a really big person. I’m a real superstar. I’m not afraid to tell you or nobody else, you know?” What do you about Wayne’s Ozone interview? Let us know in the comments! Gang Starr’s DJ Premier ‘Salutes’ Guru During Two-Hour Radio Show

DJ also questions Solar’s claims about Guru’s health during final weeks. By Jayson Rodriguez Gang Starr’s DJ Premier and Guru Photo: Capitol Gang Starr ‘s DJ Premier took to the SiriusXM satellite airwaves over the weekend to salute Guru, his late partner in Gang Starr , during a lively tribute show that featured calls from original members of the group and Guru’s nephew, and plenty of memories of the late rap star. Preemo, who released a statement about Guru’s passing late last week, was upbeat throughout his weekly two-hour radio show. The producer shared his experience of visiting Guru in the hospital, recalling how taken aback he was at the sight of his sick friend. The anecdote, like many of the statements throughout the night, was coated with underhanded shots at Solar, the controversial figure who worked with Guru in recent years and took care of him in the rapper’s last months . “When I saw him, it really f—ed me up,” Premier said during the show. “When I saw him, it was so ill to see — because from what I was hearing about him waking up and tweeting, there’s no way [he could have done that]. He looked so gone. “And on top of that, if you with him and you love him, why did his nails look longer than a ruler? And he had an afro. I’ve taken care of people in the hospital: you can wash their hair, clean their nails off, or clean their feet. His feet were swollen, his toenails were really disgusting, so because of that it really f—ed me up. I went in there and took the logo of my shirt off, rubbed it against his whole body, and then I told him a message from me about how much I loved him. We were for life and we’ll always be for life. Then I kissed him on the face to let him know that I’m gonna miss him, because he looked like he was already gone.” Gang Starr, as a group, hadn’t released a project together since 2003’s The Ownerz. Premier and Guru reportedly were estranged at the time of the rapper’s death. In Guru’s last testament, a “farewell” letter released via Solar , the rapper allegedly directed some harsh words at his “former DJ.” Premier, however, declined to address the comments in the statement he released last week, saying he would cherish his memories of their time together and “never remove him from my heart and soul.” Premier praised Guru many times during the show, which he stressed was a “salute” to Guru’s life and musical contributions and not a tribute to his untimely passing. Premier also said that Guru’s body had been cremated last week and the ashes returned to his father in Massachusetts. Guru’s nephew, Justin Elam Ruff, who first alerted fans to the divide between Solar and the Elam family via an emotional YouTube message, called in to thank fans for their support. Big Suge, who appeared on Gang Starr records throughout the years, told the story about the group’s formation. Originally, Suge wanted him and Guru, who then called himself “Keithy E.,” to go by the name Gangster. But Guru suggested the two, along with Suge’s DJ brother, tweak the name to have a positive slant — and thus the Gang Starr Foundation was born. What do you think about DJ Premier’s tribute to Guru? M.I.A.’s Lady Gaga Comments Stir Mixed Reactions From Fans

‘She sings about riding disco sticks and gets called a genius for it,’ one fan wrote in agreement with M.I.A. By Jocelyn Vena M.I.A. Photo: Michael Loccisano/ FilmMagic M.I.A. has opened quite a can of worms for herself. After taking a few shots at Lady Gaga in an NME interview, calling Gaga “a good mimic” and “not progressive,” fans of both ladies are speaking out for and against the rapper’s comments. “M.I.A. is not even on the same level as GaGa. She only got her 15 seconds of fame because ‘Pineapple Express’ put her song into the trailer. Did anyone give a damn about her before? Nope,” Gabriel wrote. “I respect Lady GaGa a lot more because she worked her way towards where she is. She’s innovative and she’s a talented entertainer and song writer. Have I seen any of those qualities in M.I.A.? Not at all. She’s just trying to get back into the spotlight, but I doubt anybody will care.” Theboogieman631 noted that regardless of their artistic integrities, comparing the two artists is like comparing apples and oranges. “I don’t see how anyone can compare the [two]. Their music doesn’t sound remotely the same,” he wrote. “They’re both on different ends of the spectrum.” Victor defended M.I.A.’s comments, noting that the rapper “is just being honest people and she’s not jealous. Gaga is a mimic nothing more nothing less, she sings about riding disco sticks and gets called a genius for it,” Victor continued. “Her videos rival the advertisements during the Superbowl … Everything she does is a rip off of either Grace Jones, Madonna, Rosin Murphy, Bj
