Levi Johnston to Run For Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska; Reality Show to Document Campaign

Before his second broken engagement with Bristol Palin in as many years, there were whispers that Levi Johnston was planning a new reality show with her. Those rumors were half true. Bristol will be nowhere insight, but the former Playgirl cover model will soon be starring in a new show entitled Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office . The premise: Levi Johnston is running for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska – the post famously held by Bristol’s mother, Sarah Palin, before she became Governor! No word if Brittani Senser will help him campaign, but it looks like his for office is actually happening. Executive producer Canaan Rubin says in a statement: “The docu-soap will follow the ever controversial, headline making, matinee idol, handsome father of one as he embarks on a run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.” “It will chronicle a ‘no-holds-barred’ period in Levi’s tumultuous life; co-raising his son Tripp, looking for love, and taking care of business for fellow Wasillians.” “He will give us a real inside look into who he is as a father, a skilled hunter, an avid dirt biker, and of course his journey down the road of small town politics.” ” Levi Johnston thinks he can take the office by representing the real citizens of Wasilla.” The statement ends: “If elected, Levi promises to serve his full term.” That’s a shot at Sarah Palin, who resigned Alaska Governor last summer to become a professional celebrity. Tank Jones will serve as Levi’s campaign manager. Shooting is underway: “They shot pre-production on the pilot today on Rodeo Drive [in Beverly Hills].” Ooh, the real Wasillans aren’t gonna like that one bit . Would you elect Levi Johnston mayor?

Selena Gomez Is ‘Heartbroken’ About Ending ‘Wizards Of Waverly Place’

But Disney star tells MTV News she’s excited about upcoming projects, including a ‘Wizards’ movie, tour and ‘feel-good’ new album. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Perri Nemiroff Selena Gomez Photo: Ian Gavan/Getty Images Selena Gomez has some bad news for fans of her popular TV series “Wizards of Waverly Place.” The Disney star reveals that when she heads back to set to the next season of the show — it will be her last. Gomez told MTV News she was sad to be saying goodbye. But when we caught up with her as she promoted another project, “Ramona and Beezus,” due in theaters July 23, she also had plenty to be excited about. “Unfortunately, I’m doing my last season of my show, which I’m really heartbroken about,” the actress told us. “That’s gonna be a terrible time for me. I’m gonna do a movie for my show, which I’ll be excited to end it with, and then a tour.” But fans shouldn’t be too broken up about the show ending. The teen star has lots in the works. In addition to the planned “Wizards” movie, she recently wrapped on the movie “Monte Carlo,” whose cast includes Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester. And Gomez is excited about releasing her next album, the follow-up to Kiss & Tell, which should be out later this year. “The title so far of my album, I mean, I’m hoping it will stick is A Year Without Rain,” Gomez said. “It’s basically one of my favorite songs on the record,” she said. “It’s kind of got a more feel-good dance beat and feel. I love it. It’s different, kind of shows my growth of my music.” She added, “I think if anything the lyrics are powerful, in a way,” Gomez even has a favorite tune already. “There’s the song called ‘Intuition’ that’s one of my favorites. The message is basically every decision that you regret or second-guess, [just] do it [anyway]. I love that message so much.” Are you excited to hear new music from Selena Gomez? T.I. Is ‘Taking The World Over’ On King Uncaged, Swizz Beatz Says

‘We’re growing as artists,’ Swizzy says of collaborating with Tip. By Shaheem Reid Swizz Beatz Photo: MTV News When Swizz Beatz and T.I. link up in the lab, the result will probably be epic. First, they landed Tip a smash single with “Bring Em Out,” then they trumped themselves with “Swing Ya Rag” from Paper Trail. The pair recently collaborated on the King of the South’s upcoming King Uncaged. “What we just did is bigger than those,” Swizz said about the two new records he produced for Tip. “It’s bigger than ‘Swing Ya Rag,’ it’s bigger than all of those. We’re growing as artists. That’s one of the things I wanted to focus on with Tip, was: ‘We did that already. We don’t need to compete with nobody. You up there.’ Everything we gotta do, we gotta stay leaders. That’s how we got to where we at now. He gave me his OK on that. Gave me the clear lane. And we’re gone. Trust me on that. The first joint, it’s nice. Crazy! The second joint is taking the world over. It’s a positive message, and I’ll let him explain the rest of the story, because he would be glad to. [It’s] very musical, but still with that swag in it.” T.I. completed a yearlong prison sentence in March for weapons charges. Swizz said one of their collaborations delves into that experience. “The other one is more heartfelt,” the producer said. “Story to tell. Think about the real things that’s going on in the world. He just finished dealing with a real situation. Besides his situation, there’s a million of other real situations going on in the world. So the feel is more worldly. African congas, symphony violins, what I told I was gonna do. I told y’all I was gonna switch the sound thing up.” King Uncaged is due in September. Eminem Has ‘Beef’ With Adrian Grenier On ‘Entourage’ Season Finale

Em will celebrate the success of his real-life album Recovery on the show; Christina Aguilera will also perform. By Mawuse Ziegbe Eminem Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic Eminem will help close out the seventh season of HBO’s “Entourage” with a guest spot on the cable hit’s finale. According to Entertainment Weekly, the rapper will appear as himself on the show, celebrating the success of his real-life album, Recovery, with a blow-out bash. Show creator Doug Ellin told EW that some drama will go down between Em and Adrian Grenier’s character. “He has a little conflict — a little beef — with Vince,” said Ellin. RapRadar.com also posted a photo of Em shooting the scene, which features the hip-hop star in the foreground as a gigantic First Aid sign — which is part of the artwork for Recovery — looms above a crowd of actors and crew members. Even though Recovery dropped just last week, Ellin is confident that the album will be a smash. Ellin told EW that the Eminem scene is set “at a platinum record party for his album, which by the time this airs [on September 12] will be platinum, I’m sure.” Em’s “Entourage” guest spot also probably means that everything is cool between the hip-hop star and the show’s executive producer Mark Wahlberg, with whom Mathers shared a famously tense appearance with the beefy rapper-turned-actor on MTV’s “TRL” in 1999. Christina Aguilera will also appear on the “Entourage” finale as a client of Ari Gold. “She’s doing Ari a favor and performing at a party for him,” Ellin said. The season seven send-off is shaping up to be a star-packed episode as John Cleese, Minka Kelly, and professional athletes like Super Bowl MVP Drew Brees and more are set to appear. Taylor Lautner Wants A Regular Life For ‘As Long As Possible’

‘Eclipse’ star talks about mowing the lawn and remaining fully clothed on the ‘Today’ show. By Jocelyn Vena Taylor Lautner on the “Today” show on Monday Photo: NBC In a scene from “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” out this Wednesday, Robert Pattinson’s Edward Cullen makes one very funny observation about Taylor Lautner’s beefy werewolf alter ego, Jacob Black: “Doesn’t he own a shirt?” When Lautner stopped by the “Today” show on Monday (June 28), he reassured Matt Lauer that he does in fact own shirts in his real life. He laughed, “Of course, I do!” In his real life, when he’s not playing dreamy teen wolves or on his way to becoming the next big action hero, Lautner said he’s just like any other 18-year-old. “At home … I mean when I’m home, I help out with the lawn, the garbage, dishes,” he said, adding that he wants to be regular for “as long as possible.” “It’s very important to me,” he said. “I describe it as I live two lives. I also have the same exact life as before.” After being out making and promoting a movie, Lautner said, his family treats him “maybe even harsher. I got extra mowing to do.” Lautner had little more than 239 words in first flick, Lauer pointed out, and now he is one of the film’s biggest names. “I never thought it would be a reality; to look back then and be sitting here now is mind-blowing,” the actor said. While he loves “Eclipse,” claiming it to be his favorite of the “Twilight” flicks so far, he does admit to one frustration in the film. “I was very jealous of my [CGI] wolf,” he joked. “I love the action. That’s the fun part, and my wolf has all the action in this movie.” And though he hasn’t tired of his fame yet, Lautner is wary of being known only as a shirtless wonder. “As an actor, I do want to challenge myself, but I embrace this role, this franchise. I give all the thanks to it. I’m having the time of my life with it,” he told Lauer, joking that if anyone wants to see him shirtless they should see “Eclipse” and not harasses him on the street. “[Fans] ask you to take your shirt off a lot. I just tell them not right now, but see it June 30.” Do you think Taylor Lautner will be typecast after “Twilight”? Share your thoughts in the comments. Steve Zahn Plays ‘My Favorite Scene’ With Movieline

Earlier this month, Steve Zahn rang Movieline from his Kentucky farm to discuss Treme , HBO’ s ensemble drama about post-Katrina New Orleans. As his character, Davis McAlary — a charismatic disc jockey, amateur politician, and advanced stoner — grows frustrated with the Big Easy’s gradual recovery from disaster, so too have some Treme viewers grown frustrated with David Simon’s sprawling series. Hopefully, this Sunday’s finale will remind audiences why they enjoyed the series when it first premiered in April, and to celebrate the conclusion of his freshman year at HBO, Steve Zahn joined us for a round of the age-old Movieline classic, My Favorite Scene.

What’s On: Ramona the Pest

In tonight’s third and concluding part of the Real Housewives of NYC reunion, we have just one question left: How many more ways can Ramona be inarticulately outraged? So far she’s stammered, opened her eyes widely, stared intently at Andy Cohen, stood up steaming, and walked around the set. That’s quite an array — I hope she keeps it up with some head-shaking and eye-closing this time.
