Timothy Busfield’s movie date gone awry resulted in a complaint by a woman who said he groped her, and is now going to the L.A. City Attorney. That office will determine whether to charge the actor, best known for The West Wing, thirtysomething and Revenge of the Nerds , with a crime. A woman accused Busfield of groping her during a date at a Thousand Oaks movie theater. She went to the police, who have been investigating. Detectives want to interview Busfield about what happened that night, after which they will send the case file over to the L.A. City Attorney. Busfield doesn’t have to oblige, but either way the case is going to prosecutors . The good news for Busfield is that the case won’t be referred to the L.A. County D.A., who could file felony charges with prison on the line. That’s basically what the reality star wondered over the weekend, as she touched down in Los Angeles – following a PDA-filled trip to Cannes with Kanye West – and lamented the loss of a few luggage items. “Very disappointed in British Airways for opening my luggage and taking some special items of mine! Some things are sentimental and not replaceable,” Kardashian Tweeted Saturday. “What happened to the days when you could lock your bags! We need to get back to that. There’s no sense of security and no trust! Shame on you.” Poor Kim. Allow us to offer a couple responses to her questions at least: 9/11 happened to the days when you could lock your bags. Consider this a lesson learned: next time, travel with a three-ounce bottle of lubricant.
Michael Haneke’s Amour won the Palme d’Or Sunday night in Cannes, capping the 65th edition of the festival. The film follows Georges (Jean-Louis Trintignant) and Anne (Emanuelle Riva) a couple in their 80s who must endure a long demise after Anne suffers an attack. This is not Haneke’s first time taking to the stage to accept Cannes’ top prize. He won the Palme d’Or in 2009 for The White Ribbon and he took a Grand Jury Prize at the festival in 2001 for The Piano Teacher and in 2005 won Best Director for Caché . In other prizes, Matteo Garrone’s Reality won the Grand Jury Prize, while Ken Loach’s Angels’ Share took the Cannes Jury Prize. Sundance 2012 Best Film winner Beasts of the Southern Wild by Benh Zeitlin won the Camera d’Or for Best First Film, while Beyond the Hills by Cristian Mungiu took two awards, including Best Actress and Best Screenplay. Garrone won the Grand Jury Prize in 2008 for Gomorrah , while Ken Loach won the Palme d’Or in 2006 for The Wind that Shakes the Barley . “Cannes shows us cinema is not just a diversion, but shows how we live together,” said Angels’ Share director Ken Loach. “In these dark times, let’s show our solidarity with those who resist austerity.” “This wasn’t just my first film, it was the first film for almost everyone who made it,” director Benh Zeitlin said from the Lumiére stage Sunday. “[Cannes] is a temple and you don’t know if you’re able to dance in the temple, and you can. An insider confirms to Radar Online that the power forward is unconcerned about the new relationship from a personal standpoint. But from a monetary one? As someone looking to milk as much as possible out of his ex-wife? Humphries believes he can use the fact that Kim and Kanye filmed their recent night out in NYC as evidence that Kardashian only dates – or, in his case, marries – for the sake of publicity. “The crux of Kris’ case for annulment is that Kim married him under fraudulent pretenses and did it for her reality show,” a Team Humphries source says, adding that his lawyers wonder: “When did Kim develop romantic feelings for Kanye and why after publicly stating she wouldn’t feature any future romantic relationships on her reality shows, did she do a complete 360?” The mole adds that Kris and Kim haven’t talked in months. Nigel Barker, a photographer who has been with America’s Next Top Model since its beginning in 2003, was let go from the reality competition this week. How is he taking the news?
