NY Chapter Of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Hazed A Black Man To Death By now, everyone knows about the Oklahoma University chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon that was shut down after it’s racist chants about how “n-words” aren’t welcome in their fraternity. But recent racist headlines surrounding the frat are shining a new light on another salacious story about the organization from a few years ago. Cornell University in Ithica, NY was forced to shut down it’s own chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon after the tragic death of one of its members. Haitian-born Georges Desdunes, a member of the fraternity during a hazing ritual that was carried out by some of his established bothers and at least one new pledge. Via Inquisitr : Georges Desdunes, a 19-year-old aspiring pre-med student at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, was found dead in the early morning hours of February 25, 2011, The New York Times reported. Earlier that night, as part of a fraternity initiation ritual, Desdunes — the only son of a widowed Haitian immigrant mother from Brooklyn — was kidnapped by Sigma Alpha Epsilon members, who bound him hand and foot with zip ties and poured large amounts of alcoholic drinks down his throat. They then left him unconscious on a couch in the common area of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house, where a member of the cleaning staff later found him dead. Unsurprisingly Georges’ was left for dead by his “brothers,” who were all were nowhere in site when he was found, nor when authorities came to give him medical assistance. Via The New York Times : When the police and firefighters arrived, they found an unresponsive male. He was not breathing, had no pulse and was cold to the touch. They laid him on the floor, cut off his sweatshirt, suctioned his throat and applied CPR. He was put on a stretcher and taken to a hospital in an ambulance. The rescue workers remarked later that there was not a single fraternity brother in sight, just the cleaners, who told the police what they knew, then went downstairs to finish the kitchen. Even though Georges died as a result of the ritual, three frat brothers were acquitted of misdemeanor hazing charges. His mother filed a $25 million wrongful death lawsuit. This entire organization seems to be a huge mess. SMH.

Though Will has never spoken out and confirmed that he is a card-carrying member of the Church of Scientology , speculation has swirled for years that he was brought into the mysterious organization by fellow A-lister Tom Cruise in the early 2000’s and hasn’t looked back since. The link, it seems, originates from Smith’s well-known close friendship with Scientology’s poster-boy, Tom Cruise, and his very vocal defense against judging the Church’s teachings too harshly. As He told Access Hollywood back in 2007: “I was introduced to [Scientology] through Tom, and I’m a student of world religion. I was raised in a Baptist household and went to a Catholic school, but the ideas of the Bible are 98 percent the same ideas as Scientology; 98 percent the same ideas as Buddhism or Hinduism.” “How you gon’ not know nothing about Scientology and attack [Tom]? It’s dangerous, and it’s ignorant. How am I going to condemn someone for what they believe and I believe God was born from a pregnant virgin?” That statement sparked years of speculation that Will and his wife Jada , and of course their super-introspective offspring were all members of the Scientology flock. They have not attracted a major star in 25 years. The only young Scientologists on the celebrity scene were all born into it. Beck was born into it. Giovanni Ribisi was born into it.” When asked why it seems that Scientology is a celebrity-exclusive religion, even though they claim there aren’t many celeb members Rinder says it’s because the church goes out of its way to attract them: “Scientology works to attract celebrities and has a Celebrity Center right in Hollywood designed to cater to them and give them special treatment—red carpet, secret entrances where you can sneak in and out—and the other part of it is that Scientology presents itself as a self-help religion. You learn and are indoctrinated into Scientology by the idea that you will improve things in your life.” Well there you have it! We guess that puts THAT rumor to rest. Now all they need is someone to come along and shut down those pesky “swinger” rumors that have been chasing Will & Jada for years…

Science Shows Why Men Are Attracted To Large Behinds Women are running out right and left to get the colossal cakes that have become all the rage in recent years. Reputable docs have even dedicated entire new innovations to helping the average woman reach her donked-out dreams. Naturally most of this is for male attention…but exactly why do men find these big ol’ backs so desirable? The answer might come from primal instinct. Via MailOnline : Researchers have discovered that men are particularly attracted to women with a back that curves 45 degrees above the top of her bottom. Such an angle would have given a woman an advantage while pregnant in early hunter-gatherer societies and so has evolved as being seen as attractive around the world, they claim. The findings suggest one possible reason for why the curvy figures of celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Jennifer Lopez are seen as being so attractive. The scientists found that extra mass around the buttocks could often enhance the curvature of a woman’s spine. Interesting. Apparently the curve of a woman’s spine determines how mobile she can remain longer into her pregnancy, which would have been useful when more humans lived in hunter/gatherer societies. Dr Lewis said that this trait would have become sexually attractive to men due to the evolutionary advantage it gave. Without such a curve, the pressure on a woman’s hips during pregnancy increases by nearly 800 per cent, rendering her largely immobile and increasing the risk of health problems. Analysis of the results also found that the preference for this level of spine curve was ‘unequivocally not a by-product of a preference for buttock mass’, they added. Men who think they like big bottoms may actually be more into spines, Dr Lewis said. He said: ‘Men may be directing their attention to the butt and obtaining information about women’s spines, even if they are unaware that that is what their minds are doing. So it’s the SPINE that needs to be curved to draw a man’s attention. So does this mean all these reality stars and IG models can stop risking their lives to get these overblown backs now??

Ray Rice Awarded Millions By The Ravens For Wrongful Termination Ray Rice received $1.588 million from the Baltimore Ravens as part of the settlement in his wrongful-termination grievance hearing in January, the Baltimore Sun reported Tuesday, citing sources. Via ESPN reports: As a result of the settlement, the Ravens will carry an additional $177,000 against the 2015 salary cap. The NFL had placed a $1.411 million cap charge against the Ravens’ 2014 cap when Rice filed his grievance. So, the additional $177,000 will carry over into 2015. Rice was seeking $3.529 million, the amount he would have earned had he played the remaining 14 games of the regular season after being suspended for two games. He was suspended indefinitely Sept. 8 for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy after a video of him hitting Janay, his then-fiancée, emerged and began widely circulating. The Ravens released Rice that day, and his contract was terminated. The incident occurred in February 2014 inside an elevator at an Atlantic City, New Jersey, casino. Rice was reinstated in December after a neutral arbitrator overturned his NFL suspension on appeal. Commissioner Roger Goodell had initially suspended Rice for two games before increasing the punishment to an indefinite ban after the video surfaced. Rice, who did not play last season, has repeatedly apologized for his actions. Rice, 28, is a three-time Pro Bowler and helped the Ravens win Super Bowl XLVII.
