Mo Money, Mayne: Terrence Howard Accused of Owing $140,000 in Back Taxes

Source: Bravo / Getty Terrence Howard Is On The Hook For A 6-Figure Tax Bill It looks like the misfortune of one particular Empire star might be rubbing off on his co-stars. Terrence Howard allegedly needs to pay up on a hefty $140,000 tax bill. According to reports from The Blast , the State of California Franchise Tax Board hit the actor with a lien earlier this year, claiming he owes $143,538.61 for taxes owed back in 2010, plus interest and penalties for not paying the amount on time. The document warns Howard if he does not settle up the outstanding debt, the government could begin attempting to seize his property and assets. The Empire star is no stranger to being hit with some hefty liens, as the same thing has happened before in the past, including owing the IRS $1.1 million back in 2010 and one in 2006 for over $600,000. Both of those previous liens appear to have been settled over the years. Even while dealing with his own financial struggles, the actor is standing by his Empire co-star Jussie Smollett. Back in February, he shared a video of his TV son along with a caption that read, “All your lil homies got you…We love the hell outta you.” Ironically, Smollett also owes some money and the City of Chicago is currently preparing a civil lawsuit to try and force the actor to pay back $130,000 spent by city officials who investigated the case of his alleged attack.

Chilleeeee: Nashville Woman Sues Cheating Ex-Boyfriend Who Gave Her Herpes After Sleeping With Another Man

Source: Tim Robberts / Getty Everyone screws up in relationships from time to time, but some things are just lawsuit worthy. One Nashville woman took her issues to court, claiming that she became infected with HSV-2 genital herpes after her boyfriend of four years had cheated on her. The woman, who filed the complaint under the pseudonym “PH”, says she was free of any sexually transmitted diseases before starting what she thought was a monogamous relationship in Nov. 2013. According to legal documents : “PH and Gregory Cole, of Brentwood, first met in 2010, and then reconnected in 2014, and formed a sexual relationship which lasted until 2018, and she believed Cole to be heterosexual, and monogamous, until April of 2018, when Gregory Cole accidentally called the woman from his cell phone during a sexual encounter with another man, and the phone call lasted one hour and twenty-eight minutes. The woman says she listened to the entire call, which included explicit sexual conversation and narrating various actions in which he and his male partner were engaging.” Following the shocking call, PH went to get tested for STDs, only to find out that she in fact had been infected with HSV-2, genital herpes, which is incurable. The woman says she hasn’t had any other sexual partners since hooking up with Cole. She is currently suing Cole for $1 million, siting battery, infliction of emotional distress, both intentional and neglect, negligence, and fraud. However, Cole has refused to speak with her about the incident. Guess she’ll see him in court.

Not Today Satan! Mom Pries 7-Year-Old Son From The Jaws Of A Cougar In Gangsta Act Of Heroism

Source: Weimann / Getty She Says A Higher Power Helped With The Save One mom was completely and utterly NOT about to let some mountain lion drag her baby to the Jungle Book pits. According to CTV News , a Canadian mom, Chelsea Lockhart, literally had to pry her 7-year-old child from a cougar’s mouth as it tried to drag him away outside their home on Vancouver Island. “I looked at him and I just thought, ‘Oh my god, my kid could die right before my eyes,’” Chelsea Lockhart said. “All you think is, ‘What can you do? What can you do in your own physical strength?’ I’m so grateful for him to be alive.” Lockhart explained that her little Zachery was playing in the backyard on Friday while she was in the house. All of a sudden, she heard the outside fence rattle. Apparently, a juvenile cougar was attempting to get through the small wire fence while opening its jaws as it stared down the boy. Lockhart said her son immediately went into safety mode. “In that moment, he knew he was in danger, so he started taking off down this alleyway to get to the house. It pushed its way through, and you can see the scratch marks on the pole.” Lockhart said when she heard the commotion outside, she made a run for her kid: “I could hear his voice, I could hear struggling, so I ran down the stairs and ran to his voice and turned the corner, and I see this animal on my child.” When Lockhart made it outside, she witnessed the cougar trying to drag her son away, and before she had time to process, she simply jumped into action: “He was on the ground and the cougar was over him and it was attached to his arm. I had a mom instinct, right? I just leaped on it and tried to pry its mouth open.” She then threw a hook at the cougar’s jaw to try and pry it off, knowing she was throwing hands for her son’s life: “I looked at him and I just thought, ‘Oh my god, my kid could die right before my eyes.’ All you think is what can you do? What can you do in your own physical strength?” That’s when Lockhart said she had to look to the Lord! “I knew that in my own power and my own strength, I wasn’t going to be able to pry its mouth open. So I start praying in tongues, and I’m just crying out to the Lord, just this really deep from the depths of inside of me. Three sentences into me praying, it released and it ran away.” Look at God! Once the cougar fled, Zachery was left with a four-centimeter gash on the crown of his head. He also injured his neck and arms. Once he arrived to the hospital, he received stitches for his head wound and is expected to fully recover. “Everybody’s recovering today and Zach’s resting at his grandma’s. We’ve had so much support from the community that every time I go out, everyone’s hugging me and just tearing up, asking how we’re doing, and that helps so much,” Lockhart said. The cougar that attacked the boy and another juvenile male cougar believed to be their brother were put down by conservation officers. It’s believed the animals had been separated from their mom for a couple of months. The animals were most likely starving at the time of the attack. The family has since set up a live trap in their backyard and a live camera in case the momma cougar stops by the area. They’re also planning to get a dog. “We’re so grateful that Zach is going to be OK and that he’s alive. I like to say I’m doing OK because the circumstances could’ve been a lot worse, and we’ve got our baby boy,” Lockhart said.

So Sad: South Carolina College Student Killed After Getting Into A Car She Thought Was Her Uber

Source: MediaNews Group/Torrance Daily Breeze via Getty Images / Getty College Student Murdered After Getting Into Wrong Car Samantha Josephson, a South Carolina college senior who disappeared Friday night after getting into the wrong car, was murdered, Columbia Police confirmed on Saturday night. According to police, Josephson got into the wrong car after hailing an Uber. An Uber did arrive but could not find her, and the student ended up never returning home or answering any of the repeated calls from her friends, who ended up calling police. Josephson’s body was discovered by hunters on Saturday morning. The police have charged 25-year-old Nathaniel Rowland after tracking down the black Chevy Impala that Josephson was shown entering in surveillance footage. He was driving the car only two blocks from where Josephson was last seen the night prior and police said the car had blood in the passenger seat and the trunk. Police also ended up finding bleach and other cleaning supplies in the car, which they believe he was going to use to scour the vehicle. The car also had automatic child safety locks which prevented its passengers from opening the car doors from the inside. “I will miss and love my baby girl for the rest of life,” Samantha’s father, Seymour Josephson, wrote on his Facebook page following the horrific news. Josephson’s death was the third in less than a week across the University of South Carolina system. On Monday, a student committed suicide and on Friday, baseball player Parker Neff passed away after he collapsed on the field during a game. “The loss of a student is never easy but this has been a particularly painful few days as we have experienced loss on several of our campuses,” USC president Harris Pastides said in a statement. “As a family, let’s continue to pray for all the families experiencing heartache and grief this week.”

SMH: Cleveland Man Could Serve 16 Years For Throwing Hot Coffee In A McDonald’s Employee’s Face

Source: S3studio / Getty Man Gets Arrested For Throwing Coffee In Employee’s Face A man could potentially serve a 16-year prison sentence for throwing hot coffee on a McDonald’s employee, simply because she asked to see his receipt. 54-year-old Joseph Deluca of Cleveland, Ohio was arrested on March 5th for injuring the restaurant worker in back in February. According to reports from Fox 8 , Deluca pulled up to the restaurant’s drive-thru window at 12:30 p.m. and ordered one cup of coffee. The employee accidentally handed him two cups and when she re-checked his order, she asked to see Deluca’s receipt. The customer reportedly laughed and said he ordered both cups, but after the employee asked for his receipt again, Deluca threw the tray of hot coffee in her face before driving off. The store’s security cameras caught the excruciating injury that ended up hospitalizing the employee at MetroHealth Medical Center for both neck and shoulder pain. When Deluca was pulled over by Newburgh Heights police officers, he even ended up confessing to the wrong crime. “I know, I beat somebody up,” Deluca sheepishly told officers, his confession recorded on body cameras. “I beat somebody up, family member or something…he put his hands on my girlfriend and I punched him, and it turned out to be felonious I guess.” Erin Stone of the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Office said, “What is troubling with a case like this is you have someone who is going to work just to do her job. She asks to see his receipt and this angers him immensely and he throws two cups of hot coffee in her face.” According to Yahoo Lifestyle, the prosecutor’s office says that the victim had first-degree burns on her face, neck, and shoulder. Deluca was indicted on two counts of second-degree felonious assault, each of which carries a maximum sentence of eight years in prison.

Get Your Life Together: 23 People Charged In Connection With Multimillion Dollar Shoplifting Operation

Source: Jeff Greenberg / Getty 23 People Charged Multimillion-Dollar Shoplifting Bust Another day, another scam . 23 people have just been charged in connection with a multimillion-dollar shoplifting operation, which spans New York and New Jersey. According to a report from WABC-TV , local authorities put the pieces of this operation together following a year-long investigation, which ultimately brought them to alleged mastermind Stephan Williams. It all started with hundreds of thousands of dollars in Jersey City, which is alleged to have eventually grown into something worth millions–thanks to a system in which participating shoplifters were instructed to procure items from a predetermined list. Ulta Beauty, CVS, Walgreens, and Duane Reade were all affected throughout this operation, where the shoplifters scammed over-the-counter meds, vitamins, beauty supplies, and multivitamins. According to investigators, a typical hit would have a hired driver dropping off as many as 10 shoplifters at the locations at a time, and afterward, the items they obtained were allegedly put up for sale on eBay. According to the most recent reports about the bust, 11 alleged participants have been arrested, while warrants for “several others” have been issued; A total of 23 people have reportedly been charged in connection with the scam. It has been estimated that $3 million in stolen items have been recovered by the police, who also managed to freeze a pair of bank accounts that totaled approximately $4.5 million.
