Maryland attorney, Rashad James , says he was mistaken for a suspect and briefly detained by a sheriff’s deputy during a court proceeding earlier this month. Maryland Legal Aid attorney Rashad James says he was detained by a courtroom cop who thought he was a suspect wanted on an outstanding warrant. https://t.co/Oi6aPkWLQT — New York Daily News (@NYDailyNews) March 28, 2019 James told the Baltimore Sun that during his court appearance in Harford County District Court on March 6, deputies mistook him for his client, who is also Black and did not attend the hearing. He continued: “This is actually the first time this has occurred to me, and I do not know of any colleagues who have had a similar experience. In the moment, it was sort of surreal in the sense that I guess it was just one of those unexpected things that I just did not anticipate.” Rashad says he was the only Black attorney in the room, and police began asking him race based questions immediately. After checking the validity of his license multiple times, deputies finally let James go, 10 minutes later. Maryland Legal Aid says they’re “troubled by the deeply disturbing incident. There is no plausible explanation other than racial bias.” James has filed a complaint with Harford County Sheriff’s office, and says he plans to carry business cards with him wherever he goes. SMH.

Smith Middle School in Michigan, a substitute teacher was trying to cue up a video of Lewis and Clark for history. So imagine the seventh graders surprise when a porn clip from the Internet popped up instead. It played for AT LEAST 30 seconds before it could be cut off. According to Fox 2 , Dearborn Public Schools are blaming the situation on a technology glitch… Mhm. “In this particular instance, it appears there was some sort type of loophole – one time too many – but very isolated,” said David Mustonen, the communication director for Dearborn, Michigan schools. He said with thousands of logins a day, things kids shouldn’t see usually don’t get through. “Are we looking into this particular instance, are we making sure this doesn’t happen again, yes, absolutely,” he said. “Do we need to scrap everything and start over? No, nowhere near that.” Questions still remain on how the pornographic video even made it to the screen in that particular moment. Did the substitute pull it up? Was their a typo in a search? The district denies both these things. “The substitute teacher that was in the classroom was unaware that this video was there,” Mustonen said. When Fox 2 asked the Dearborn police if a student was possibly pranking the teacher, authorities said there’s no evidence of this. A letter was sent home with the history class kids, alerting parents about the “unfortunate and rare occurrence.” The district says support was made available to students who needed it after watching the images. The Dearborn police sergeant over school resource officers said, on their end, the investigation is closed, and they found “no criminal intent.” As a precaution, the district won’t bring back the substitute since they can’t confirm how the movie came about.

It Ain’t Safe: Tyson Recalls Nearly 70,000 Pounds Of Chicken Strips That Might Contain Metal

Source: Ramin Talaie / Getty Tyson Is Recalling Almost 70,000 Pounds Of Their Chicken The United States Department of Argiculture  announced on Thursday that Tyson Foods, Inc. recalled 69,093 pounds of their frozen chicken strip. According to the company, Tyson fears that the food was contaminated with metal. For everyone out there with some chicken in their freezer wondering which product specifically, it’s the buffalo and crispy style ready-to-eat variety, which were produced on November 30, 2018. That means that all of the recalled products should have a “best if used by” date of Nov. 30, 2019, along with the establishment number “P-7221” printed on the back. These products were shipped all around the country, including going to Washington and Michigan for “ institutional use. “ The decision to recall the chicken came after a pair of customers complained of “extraneous material” in their strips. This most recent situation definitely isn’t the first time a product of theirs has caused some trouble for the company–as a matter of fact, it’s not even the first time this year. Tyson asked customers to return 36,000 pounds of chicken nuggets back in January because they may have been contaminated with rubber. The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service gave this recall a “Class I” label, which means a high health risk and a “situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.” Yikes. The agency says if you have any potentially contaminated strips in your fridge or freezer at the moment, you should return them to the store you got them from or just throw them out. The release also points out that “there have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.”

On Friday, Kanye West and his people over at Adidas teamed up with families across the country to stock the upcoming “Geode” Adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 at various homemade lemonade stands. The idea for this was not only to bring families closer together, but also to raise funds in support of mental health awareness. Ye’s wife Kim K tweeted about the venture and explained the whole thing yesterday, also showing off photos of her kids at their lemonade stand. This Is America: Former Pittsburgh Cop That Murdered Unarmed Antwon Rose Was Found “Not Guilty” By Jury

Source: Justin Merriman / Getty After Only Three & A Half Hours A Jury Acquitted The Cop That Fatally Shot Antwon Rose According to the NY Daily News , The former Pittsburgh cop that was charged with criminal homicide in the fatal shooting unarmed black teen Antwon Rose was found not guilty. The not guilty verdict came after only 3 & a half hours of deliberation from the jury. Michael Rosfeld was initially charged after giving multiple accounts of the incident that left Rose shot in his face, elbow and back last year. Rosfeld reportedly pulled over the car Rose was riding in on suspicion of having been in the area of a nearby shooting. The former cop initially told investigators that he saw “something dark that he perceived as a gun,” but he later said he didn’t see a gun “when the passengers emerged and ran.” Rose was shot while trying to run away before being handcuffed.

The RHOA star has welcomed her first child, a baby girl, with her fiancé Dennis McKinley. The news came initially from Porsha’s sister Lauren Williams who posted a text from Porsha announcing her baby PJ’s arrival and then from the couple who spoke to PEOPLE. “What a time to be alive! Porsha and I are so happy and blessed to announce the arrival of our daughter, Baby PJ,” the Dish Nation host, 37, and McKinley tell PEOPLE. “We couldn’t have imagined a more magical moment! Can’t thank everyone enough for joining us on this journey-it’s been a fantastic journey,” they add. Baby PJ was born at 1:36 p.m., weighing 6 lbs., 15 oz., and measuring 20 inches long.
