Source: RapidEye / Getty Woman Kills Escaped Prison Inmate Who Broke Into Her House A couple of inmates decided to flee a South Carolina prison this week , one was recaptured and the other was killed by a startled woman in her nightgown. According to a Daily News report, two men, Bruce McLaughlin Jr. and Timothy Cleveland Dill, beat up two guards at the Pickens County Prison and then escaped around 2:40 a.m., Pickens County Sheriff Rick Clark said at a press conference. Dill was caught about 25 minutes later but McLaughlin evaded authorities and kicked in the rear door of a local home, eventually meeting his maker. Source: (Pickens County Sheriff’s Office) / (Pickens County Sheriff’s Office) The woman, who has not been identified, was home alone and said McLaughlin stole a foot-long knife-sharpening tool from her kitchen, then headed to her bedroom. She responded by shooting him in the head, Clark said. “This was a big guy. If she hadn’t had a weapon, there’s no telling what would have happened,” he said at the press conference. “I gave her a big hug. I told her how proud I was of her.” Clark said that the woman had a concealed weapons permit and called it a “shining example” of the importance of gun ownership. “She came out on the good on this end and the other guy, the bad guy, didn’t,” he said. McLaughlin was awaiting trial for first-degree burglary and grand larceny, while Dill had been charged with criminal sexual conduct.

Source: Ben Gabbe / Getty Trevor Noah Silently Hosted The Daily Show on Tuesday The Daily Show host Trevor Noah appeared on his nightly broadcast Tuesday as he normally does, but this time, he stayed silent throughout the episode. Trevor is battling a vocal issue and was instructed by his doctor not to speak in an effort to avoid needing surgery, which was revealed on the show. Tuesday’s episode began with Noah sitting next to comic Mike Acosta, who addressed the audience on behalf of the host. “You’ve probably noticed that this is a little different,” Acosta said, speaking as the host. “Well, what happened was, over the weekend, I lost my voice.” Acosta read the monologue for Tuesday’s show, while fellow comic Roy Wood Jr. sat down next to Noah for a later segment. Throughout the episode, Noah made hand gestures to go along with whatever his guests were saying to act as if he was still fulfilling his hosting duties. Noah was in Johannesburg, South Africa over the weekend to host a Global Citizen concert commemorating Nelson Mandela–which he partly attributes to his voice being completely gone. The 34-year-old further explained his vocal issue in an Instagram post on Tuesday night, adding that he needs to cancel some of his upcoming stand-up gigs. “I thought that my vocal cords were healed but according to the doctor, flying 36 hours and hosting a giant concert in South Africa didn’t help me,” he wrote. “So if I want to get better I have to take it seriously now so that I can perform at 100% on my new tour next year. Kandi Speaks On The Dennis McKinley Rumors Kandi is speaking out on last night’s episode of “Real Housewives Of Atlanta” that finally put her face to face with Porsha. As previously reported Kandi said that she knows someone whose name and face Porsha’s fiance Dennis McKinley tattoed on his body. And on Sunday she took the information to Marlo, Cynthia, and NeNe to ask the ladies if she should tell Porsha herself. NeNe and Kandi agreed that it was too soon afte r Kandi and Porsha’s dungeon drugging dustup for Kandi to say anything and the group collectively agreed not to tell Porsha. That notion was emphasized by NeNe who said that the ladies should let it go. Kandi: “What advice are y’all giving to Porsha with her new boo? Me and Porsha are getting to be cool but when it comes to her relationship I don’t think she and I are in a place where I can speak on it.” NeNe: “Y’all aren’t there yet.” […] Marlo: “Don’t say anything about the tattoo it’ll be interesting to see if he gets her name…if he does I’m falling out on the floor.” Fast forward to later in the episode and Kandi revealed that someone told Porsha what was said about her boo and Dennis retaliated by angrily calling up his gossiping exes. That lead to an uncomfortable sitdown where NeNe told Kandi she didn’t spill the beans to Porsha—but then got quickly outed by RHOA producers. RHOA rolled footage showing Porsha admitting that NeNe told her what Kandi said—and that’s why NeNe and Porsha are in that BIG battle right now. Kandi reiterated on Twitter last night that she was reluctant to tell Porsha what she heard about Dennis because of timing. They apparently hadn’t spoken in MONTHS before they started taping the new season. I hear you but this was early in the summer. She & I really hadn’t talked before we started taping so I definitely didn’t feel like she would’ve wanted to hear that from me. SMH: Deontay Wilder’s Highly Anticipated Fight Against Tyson Fury Ends In A Draw

Fury Ends In A Controversial Draw On Saturday night in Los Angeles, the very highly anticipated heavyweight championship fight between Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury ended in a controversial split decision draw. Despite some very encouraging moments with Wilder knocking down Fury twice, the Bronze Bomber didn’t get a W for the first time in his professional career. “I think with the two knockdowns I definitely won the fight,” Wilder the WBC heavyweight champion of the world said following the match. “We poured our hearts out tonight. We’re both warriors, but with those two drops I think I won the fight. I came out slow. I rushed my punches. I didn’t sit still. I was too hesitant. I started overthrowing the right hand and I just couldn’t adjust.” The judges ended up scoring the fight 115-111 Wilder, 114-112 Fury, and a 113-113 draw. The thousands of fans at Staples Center weren’t too happy with the decision, loudly booing the final result right as it was announced. Fury did his thing throughout the 12 rounds as well, most surprisingly when he somehow managed to get up after an intense knockdown in the final round that would have been the end for just about every other boxer in the ring. “We’re on away soil, I got knocked down twice, but I still believe I won that fight,” Fury said afterward. “I’m being a total professional here. I went to Germany to fight [Wladimir] Klitschko and I went to America to fight Deontay Wilder. God bless America. The Gypsy King has returned.” Now, everybody is asking about when the next fight will come, which always happens with the disappointing nature of a draw. Whether we will see a rematch is unknown right now, but it was certainly entertaining enough to warrant another go sometime down the road.

Feds Watching: Kodak Black Gets Handcuffed Outside Of Hollywood Nightclub

Source: Mike Coppola / Getty Kodak Black Ended The Night In Handcuffs On Friday Kodak Black  ended up being detained outside of a Hollywood nightclub on Friday night and a fan captured some footage of the rapper in handcuffs from across the street. Luckily for the rapper–who is still on probation, and already went to jail for a probation violation earlier this year–no arrests were made. “Got my man Kodak and them shook down over there, bro. It went down in the club now they got Kodak chained up, baby,” the fan said in his video. “He can’t be f**king up with the law. They got into a brawl in the club and [the police] shook them down.” According to reports from the people over at TMZ , the Florida rapper was cuffed after police responded to a fight at the Playhouse nightclub. The site’s sources claim that a small scuffle happened a little after midnight and police were able to quickly defuse the situation. Kodak was only handcuffed in the process of the police figuring out how the fight happened, and they made sure to add that Black was let go fairly quickly with no one pressing any charges. Before being let off in this incident, the rapper was on a hot streak music-wise and even better, he’s actually been seen in a bunch of positive headlines throughout the news recently. This includes the heart-warming news that he planned to open a school in his parent’s home of Haiti and his $10K donation to a children’s center in his home state of Florida.

Springing Into Action: Nelly Allegedly Comes To The Rescue During A Dust-Up On A Dubai Yacht

Source: Tim Mosenfelder / Getty Nelly Broke Up A Fight During A Dubai Yacht Party There was reportedly an incident in the desert last week when a fight broke out on a yacht full of rappers while they were sailing near Dubai–it was the result of a number of party go-ers eventually being questioned by the police about the situation. According to an exclusive report from Page Six , a brawl is said to have broken out on a party yacht. Guests in attendance at this shindig included rappers Future and Akon, with one unfortunate guest getting a bottle thrown right in their face. A “spy” told Page Six that Nelly  is the one who ended up springing into action once the violence started. “When Nelly heard the commotion, he went running in to help the person who was hit in the nose,” their source told the publication. The “Country Grammar” star along with others were said to be questioned by local police about the fight, but Nelly was in the clear following his heroism in the situation. The region was filled with so many big stars because of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 25. Post Malone, The Weeknd, French Montana, Tyga, Craig David, Guns N’ Roses and Sam Smith all performed concerts in the days surrounding the race, which ended up being won by Lewis Hamilton. The Weeknd’s show actually ended up being cut short when rowdy fans stormed the gates at a local arena. “The show had to stop early because it was so dangerous,” a source for Page Six recalled. It’s lucky for everyone involved that none of the stars in attendance got arrested following the alleged fight. Back in 2015, Future’s DJ, Esco, was arrested during the Grand Prix after being caught with marijuana at the airport. He ended up spending a whopping 56 days in jail in a harrowing experience that inspired Future’s album 56 Nights . “When they arrest you, they don’t have to say, ‘You have a right to this’ . . . There’s no judge, no jury. They assign you to a prosecutor, and the prosecutor can just do what he wants with you. They don’t have to tell you anything. They don’t even have to explain what the charge is.” At the airport after he was freed, he said, he bought headphones, ice cream and cookies, “and I was like, ‘I can’t believe this. Like, what just happened?’” Good on Nelly for breaking up a brawl that could have gone downhill quickly.

A Puerto Rican woman named Lennys Bermudez Molina says she was trying to find a seat at a Phoenix restaurant last week when she was berated and told her race would be “wiped out.” “I hate to say the political climate is to blame for someone’s outrageous behavior, but I was visibly shaken today with this exchange. I simply asked the woman if I could sit down next to her while I waited for the car to charge,” Molina captioned a Facebook video of the incident. The video shows the spoiled mayo rudely telling Molina she wished the “whole freaking nation” was white. “You will be wiped out … trust me,” added the woman. SMH, the boldness of this beyotch is crazy. Are you even surprised to see yet another racist video ???

SMH: Detroit Teenager Busted For Driving 138 MPH Because He Was ‘Late For Curfew’

Source: kolderal / Getty Teen Gets A Ticket For Driving 138 Down The Highway We’ve all been caught going above the speed limit when we’re running late to work or to an appointment–but sometimes you gotta know when to chill, and this Detroit teenager could use a lesson in chilling out for real. State police in Detroit caught one teenager doing the I-75 doing a whopping 138 mph in his 2012 Chevy. The 17-year-old was busted last Friday night around 8:45 p.m, zipping down the left lane of the highway near Holly Road. The teen was trying to get off on the exit, but was nabbed by a Michigan State Police trooper from the Metro North Post. “The driver … stated that he was traveling so fast and passing other cars and ducking in and out of lanes because he was late for his 9:30 p.m. curfew. The trooper gave the kid a break on the reckless driving charge, but he did earn a ticket for 138/70 and the SMH award,” police posted about the incident on Twitter. While police did not give out information about how much a speeding ticket for 68 mph over the limit will cost, but online sites listing Michigan prices show tickets for  26+ miles over the limit start at $155, then adding $4 per additional mile, so things could really get up there. Going more than 16 mph over the limit can also net you four points on your driver’s license, according to the Michigan Secretary of State.

Wrongful Death: 68-Year Old Man Dies After Hospital Pumps His Lungs With Cleaning Detergent

Source: Nomad / Getty 68-year old grandfather, William Hannah , has died after Salford Royal Hospital in the U.K. mistakingly filled his lungs with cleaning detergent instead of saline. The Hannah family’s lawyer told PEOPLE , During the procedure the doctor found there was no saline solution in the equipment trolley and so asked a healthcare assistant to pass this to him. However, the assistant became confused and instead of providing the doctor with the requested saline, accidentally handed him an unlabelled bottle containing detergent that they had prepared for cleaning equipment. The doctor then unknowingly used the cleaning solution to wash-out William’s lung. Following an internal investigation into the wrongful death, the Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust concluded that the hospital did not deliver the “high standard of care” and offered its apologies to the family. Hearings for the case begin in February 2019. SMH, so sad.
