The BeyHive Vs. Chilli You may remember when a TLC stan tweeted Chilli a list of trends and “sayings” that should stay in 2013 (“Bey, B & Queen B”), her co-signing it and the BeyHive dragging her straight to Hell by her silky baby hairs in yet another unforgettable episode of “BeyHive vs. Everybody.” Hit the flip for a flashback to the hilariously petty Chilli dragging.

WNBA Player Candice Wiggins Says She Was Bullied For Being Straight In an interview with the Sandiego Union Tribune , former NY Liberty player Candice Wiggins says that the “toxic” culture of the WNBA pushed her to give up her career early. “I wanted to play two more seasons of WNBA, but the experience didn’t lend itself to my mental state. […]I didn’t like the culture inside the WNBA, and without revealing too much, it was toxic for me. …My spirit was being broken.” She says not only was it a daily struggle playing in a sports league that still isn’t greatly respected or highly valued after nearly 20 years in existence…but that the culture of jealousy, bullying, and conformity among its players took a heavy toll on her and eventually caused her to toss up her hands and opt out. According to Candice, one major point of contention between her and her teammates was her sexuality. As a straight woman, she was quite a minority in the league, and she says her desire to embrace her femininity and proudly express her attraction to men got her bullied and ostracized by other players. “Me being heterosexual and straight, and being vocal in my identity as a straight woman was huge. I would say 98 percent of the women in the WNBA are gay women. It was a conformist type of place. There was a whole different set of rules they (the other players) could apply.” And as it tends to go amongst groups of “mean girls,” Candice say the fact that she was popular and pretty didn’t help matters much either. “There was a lot of jealousy and competition, and we’re all fighting for crumbs. The way I looked, the way I played – those things contributed to the tension. People were deliberately trying to hurt me all of the time. I had never been called the B-word so many times in my life than I was in my rookie season. I’d never been thrown to the ground so much. The message was: ‘We want you to know we don’t like you.’” Damn…who would have thought that kind of reverse discrimination was going on in the league? Sad to see something like that pushed one of the WNBA’s more promising players out. Instagram/Chris Poss
Rumor control…. Rocko Responds To Future Lawsuit Settlement Claims A certain ATL rapper is confirming whether or not he’s been victorious against his former friend turned Dirty Sprite sipping foe. Back in June we reported that Rocko sued Future for $10 million for breaching a contract that confirmed he’d make six albums under Rocko’s A1 Recordings. Following that, an angry Future went on a Twitter rant against Rocko before he countersued for unpaid advances. Now a rumor’s running rampant that a judge sided with Rocko in court and ordered Future to not only cough up 50% of his tour revenue, but ordered him to give ALL of his album royalties to Rocko. Via VladTV: Future and Epic reportedly agree to give all royalties from his next two albums to Rocko. In addition to the albums, Future will also give Rocko 50% of all touring revenues for the next two years. In order for LA Reid and Epic to recoup the advance that they will forfeit while Future pays Rocko back, Future signed a 360 agreement with LA. To pay Epic back, Future will give a percentage of any deals made outside of music to Epic until his back advancements are paid or for the next five years, whichever comes first. LA and Epic will also be collecting on the front end on all of Future’s music ventures. When news broke about Rocko’s alleged settlement, fans went into a tizzy and started posting tweets and memes dragging Future to the darkest depths of codeine infused hell for his misfortune. Victor Willis Calls Out Grammys For Racist Voting Practices We already know the Grammys don’t have a strong track record for recognizing “Us” and our musical accomplishments. And Lord KNOWS the backlash that came after Adele scooped up “Beyonce’s Award” last weekend. But one singer is swearing that the Grammys aren’t just out of touch or slanted toward older, whiter singers …but that there’s a committee in place whose sole purpose it is to make SURE that too many Black artists don’t skip across the stage with gold trophies. Victor Willis, the “cop” and lead singer of the Village People sent a strongly worded letter to the President of the Recording Academy, demanding he confess to the public about the existence of the secret group that he says was back in 1985 formed after Lionel Richie beat out Bruce Springsteen for the Album of the Year. According to TMZ , Willis says the committee’s only purpose is to “override the decision of Grammy voters in the event the select committee does not like who the Grammy voter has chosen” for the 4 most important awards. “The question is how many African Americans are on that committee? If certain people at the Grammys don’t like who the voters have chosen, a Grammy committee will simply override the voters and subsequently select who they think should win. Like Adele, maybe?” Well, damn. TMZ researched it further and it does appear that there is indeed a secret committee in place, but allegedly it’s designed cancel out “embarrassing” nominations — lip-syncers like, Milli Vanilli, for instance. But once the nominations are set in stone, the Grammy voters have the final word. So they say. Do YOU think the Grammys go out of their way to block black folks from winning ?
Interesting… Queen Latifah Talks Playing Cleo In “Set It Off” An in-depth interview with Queen Latifah is getting national attention. In the latest issue of InStyle , Queen chats with none other than Tracee Ellis Ross who was tapped by the publication to work as a guest editor for a piece on Queen’s confidence and reinvention. Queen, who got to don an $80,000 Fred Leighton diamond crown for the shoot, spoke on a number of topics including who she considers pop culture royalty… “I’ve been a fan of Solange Knowles from the beginning. The biggest artist in the world is her older sister, yet she never relied on that.” and her keys to a magical life. I used to get caught up in comparing myself, especially in terms of body type, but I realized that often the people I envied were missing important things that I had in abundance…It’s great to have plans and a vision for your life, but it’s more important to be open to the unexpected. Things got especially interesting however when Tracee asked her about her toughest career decision. According to Queen, it was the decision to play Cleo in “Set It Off” because of the stigmas attached to gay characters in the African-American community. “When I got the role of amateur bank robber Cleo Sims in Set It Off, I sat down with my younger siblings and told them, ‘Listen, I’m playing a gay character. Your classmates might tease you or say negative things about it. But I’m doing it because I believe I can bring positive attention to the gay African-American community, and I believe that I can do a great job as an actor.’” So it was hard for her to play Cleo because of her family, not because of the role itself. Makes sense. Kudos to her for her honesty. What do YOU think about Cleo being the toughest career decision for Queen Latifah??? WENN

The actress discussed a new tattoo she got two months ago recently on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” and we hope she wants to keep it forever: “I did and it’s here,” she said pointing to her left rib. “We’re those kind of people,” Saldana added. “Oh, come on, be happy for us. He’s had my face on his arm, so it’s only fair.” Saldana explains why she chose to get the tattoo on her side: “You want it to be in a place that’s private, that you only show when you’re, like, in a bathing suit. And I’ve been wanting to get it for two years … but I finally got it.” Zoe even posted a photo of her getting the tattoo back in December: We hope they stay together forever: Would you get your significant other’s name tatted on you?
