Rebecca Black Says Internet Haters Don’t ‘Bug’ Her Anymore

‘Friday’ singer talks about her new fame and performs her hit on ‘The Tonight Show.’ By Gil Kaufman Rebecca Black on the “Tonight Show” on Tuesday Photo: NBC We learned this week that Internet viral sensation Rebecca Black is poised to make some serious coin from the sales of her irritatingly inescapable song “Friday.” But after surpassing even Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” in YouTube views, on Tuesday night Black really hit the big time when she appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” and performed her signature tune. Bounding out onto the set wearing a white polka-dotted black skirt, purple top and gray sweater with hearts and black Peter Pan boots, Black explained the origin of her overnight hit to Leno. “Oh, it’s so crazy, it’s so weird!” she said of her sudden fame. “I’ve always been interested in music for a long time, and my parents knew I was too, so my friend told me about Ark Music Factory. So, I went online and looked it up to make sure it was legit and stuff like that. “They sent me a song, and it was about being a guy’s superhero, but I’m 13 … sooo,” she said of the potentially inappropriate tune the producers initially sent her. “Then they sent me ‘Friday,’ which is about hanging with your friends and being a teenager, so I really liked that.” The next thing the singer knew, she had skipped the normal cattle call audition process and after meeting with the song’s producers, she was recording “Friday.” One of the things Black liked about the song was that it didn’t have bad language or more adult situations, but she said the meteoric rise shocked her. “I was coming home from school, and all of a sudden, I look on the computer and it had 14,000 views.” Sitting very upright, Leno asked Black about the harassment she’s faced from some online haters. She said it bothered her at first and made her cry, “but I’m 13 … so being a teenager, you care about what other people think about you. ‘Oh, the world hates me, I’m gonna die!’ But now I don’t even read them, so they don’t bug me.” With dozens of video parodies popping up online — including one earlier in Leno’s show in which Libyan strongman Moammar Gaddahfi sang “Friday” — Black said some are hilarious while others are just “really lame.” Black gushed about the support she’s gotten from Ryan Seacrest and former “American Idol” judge Simon Cowell. “Oh my gosh, he wants to meet me! That’s so cool,” she squeaked about the “X Factor” boss. She said Nicole Richie and Joel Madden, Cody Simpson and Willow Smith have reached out to offer their kind words as well. After the news broke earlier this week that “Friday” has turned into a cash cow, Black announced that she’s donating proceeds from the single to relief efforts in Japan in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami that rocked the nation nearly two weeks ago, with some cash also going to her school. She then hopped up and performed “Friday” with the house band, busting into the song without delay and getting some enthusiastic help on the “yeah!” portion of the chorus from the audience. Before leaving for the taping, Black, 13, tweeted her excitement about the appearance. “What’s even better than being able to appear in the ‘Tonight Show With Jay Leno’? Having my bestfriend be able to come with

Lindsay Lohan Calming Her Nerves By PARTYING!!!!

Lindsay Lohan is facing felony grand theft charges and is on probation for a prior DUI arrest, but why let that stand in the way off a good ass time?! She has ’til Friday to accept a plea deal and a (relatively) short jail sentence, otherwise she’ll be bound for an April trial. It’s a lot for her to digest. That’s why she channeled her inner Rebecca Black over the past week, hitting seven hotspots in a four-day span and just partyin’, partyin’, yeah! On Thursday at Riff Raff, an onlooker says LiLo was “with a girlfriend, clutching onto her signature can of Red Bull. She was definitely in a partying mood.” Also Thursday, LiLo hit up SL and 1Oak where a clubgoer says Lohan wasn’t drinking, but “was in a great mood having a good time with friends, dancing.” Adds the clubgoer: “She was under a microscope because people were waiting to see if she was going to drink, but she didn’t.” Yeah! You show ’em girl! An insider at one of Lohan’s other stops says the actress was back to her old ways , however, and that it’s only a matter of time before trouble follows. “Saturday night at Beauty & Essex, Lindsay was with her brother and sister,” the source says. “She was ordering and drinking cocktails, texting nonstop.” She was also “taking pictures and acting a little crazy.” Drinking or not (Lindsay says she doesn’t drink, period , but no one can really believe what she says), can she get in legal trouble for her nightlife antics? It’s a gray area for sure. A prosecutor could very well collect evidence that Lohan’s been frequenting these places as grounds for a probation violation. On the flip side, the definition of a place where alcohol is the chief item of sale is sometimes murky, especially if the establishment is also a restaurant. As for how Lohan’s recent habits could affect her recovery, you don’t have to be an expert to see how the star’s current lifestyle could get problematic. Drinking, partying, being a klepto . Janet Jackson Thrills Fans With Greatest Hits, Michael Tribute At Radio City

Singer covered songs ranging from classic ‘Pleasure Principle’ to 2008’s ‘Feedback’ at New York show. By Vaughn Schoonmaker Janet Jackson Photo: Christopher Polk/ Getty Images Often imitated, never duplicated, Janet Jackson’s outbursts of meticulous choreography, sassy exclamations and smoldering gazes into the audience kept them on their feet for the entire two-hour set of her greatest hits at Radio City Music Hall. Monday night marked the last of three sold-out shows at the historic venue on her monumental Number Ones: Up Close and Personal Tour . Up-and-coming boy band Mindless Behavior opened the show with songs including “#1 Girl,” “Future” and their debut single “My Girl.” With their Usher-esque dance moves and shouts like “Where the ladies at?” the boys brought the tween girls out of hiding, judging by the shrill screams escaping various corner of the music hall. At 9:00 sharp, the lights went down and Janet’s fans were on the edge of their seats, watching music videos for “The Best Things in Life Are Free” and “Rhythm Nation” projected on big screens across the venue. A small shadow drifted toward center stage, and when the colorful lights came up, Jackson, wrapped in a shoulder-padded catsuit, complete with slick short hair, blasted into “The Pleasure Principle,” dancing as hard and intensely choreographed as she did when the song first came out in the 1980s. With barely a spare second between songs, Janet dazzled her way through her biggest hits, including “Miss You Much,” “All for You” and “Nasty,” and more recent hits like 2008’s “Feedback.” Videos displayed during Jackson’s costume changes included vintage clips from “Diff’rent Strokes,” a funny scene from “Poetic Justice” where Jackson slyly rejects the advances of Tupac Shakur’s character, and a rather heavy scene, as Jackson’s character in “Why Did I Get Married” destroys her husband’s house with a golf club, screaming hysterically. Considering the tough couple of years the Jackson family has faced, the dark moments in the video seemed necessary, and everyone was beside themselves with bittersweet joy when Michael Jackson’s face popped up on the big screen and she performed their hit single “Scream.” Janet emerged for her encore in a tight white one-piece disco suit, performing “Diamonds,” “Make Me” and “Together Again,” which appeared to be the biggest hit of the evening. Graciously bowing out, Jackson’s straight face transitioned into a smirk, suggesting that despite the hard times she has experienced recently, we can expect to see this singing and dancing pop legend shine far into the future. “Its amazing!” Janet fan Elena Mercantini gleamed afterward. “It’s like she’s still 20 years old!” “She’s hot, she’s amazing and she’s still got it after all these years” added Alison Klinger of Long Island. “Best concert I’ve ever been to!” Related Photos Michael Jackson: A Life In Photos Related Artists Janet Jackson Michael Jackson

Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday’ Still Dominating YouTube

The 13-year-old singer’s ‘Friday’ video has amassed more views than Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way.’ By Jocelyn Vena Rebecca Black Photo: YouTube Whatever you may think of Rebecca Black, the girl is — dare we say it? — a star. She’s been a constant Twitter trend and she’s already beat Lady Gaga in YouTube views, as the official version of her polarizing clip for “Friday” has been watched more than 33.5 million times on the website. And now it seems that the 13-year-old is getting to cash in on her new-found fame. According to Forbes magazine the $2,000 Black’s mother shelled out to Los Angeles-based record company Ark Music Factory for the recording of the song and its lo-fi video has been made back many times over. By Forbes’ estimations, by the time the tune’s clip hit the 30 million YouTube view mark, everyone had profited $20,000 — a 1000-percent return on the original investment. In addition to the YouTube success, the song is being downloaded on iTunes, which reportedly pays 70 cents per single download, meaning that Black and her team could make upwards of $1 million. As of press time, “Friday” sat at the #33 spot on the iTunes chart. Black already has appeared on “Good Morning America,” where she defended her talents and her track and also shared that she’d love to work with fellow former YouTube sensation and teen idol Justin Bieber. She’s also had her song covered by Nick Jonas at a Jonas Brothers concert. “I think @nickjonas did an AMAZING job with Friday!” Black tweeted on Monday. “You’re amazing, Nick!” Despite being the target of derision by those who think that her tune and video aren’t up to professional standards, Black has received love and support from celebrities on Twitter. And she’s set to appear on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Tuesday night (March 22). What do you think about Rebecca Black’s success? Tell us in the comments. Chris Brown on Nude Pic Scandal: Disappointing!

Chris Brown’s new album , F.A.M.E. (forgiving all my enemies), drops this week. But that’s not the only recent release from Brown that has people buzzing. Then there’s the much talked about nude photo leak , in which Chris takes a full-frontal, buck-a$$ naked cellphone pic in the mirror for unknown reasons. Chris says this was NOT a publicity stunt to hype his new album, though. In fact, he’s “disappointed” by the leak because … people will say it’s a stunt. While out promoting the new album, Chris went on KPWR’s “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” morning show and addressed the nude pic situation with candor. “I didn’t want to put pictures out; that’s not my intention,” he said . “A lot of people were saying, ‘Yo, he leaked the pictures, he was trying to get PR.'” “For me, I was always a singer. So unless I’m planning to do porn, I don’t think I’d want to leak my wang to the world before my album comes out.” Fair point. “It was disappointing to me that it was out,” he added. “Because I was like, ‘Man, now it’s gonna (look like) a gimmick. And I don’t want a gimmick.” As for how the photo even got out – and who it was for? “It was an out the shower shot. It was like ‘hey what’s up’ or ‘look at me right now'” the singer continued. “I was alone but I wasn’t even excited.” “I was just playing a video game and I was looking at Twitter. It’s … whatever man. I’m comfortable with my body, I don’t care about all of that.” Well, that about sums up the latest in a bizarre series of evens surrounding Breezy. You just wonder what the next day will bring at this point. Given what Chris has done, and been through, some people will assume the worst. All he can do is be honest and try to set a good example. In Honor of Rebecca Black’s ‘Friday,’ 5 Dubious Sensations Who Deserve Biopics

No, “Kicking in the front seat / sitting in the back seat” is not a Gwendolyn Brooks couplet about Rosa Parks; it’s a key line in YouTube sensation Rebecca Black’s video ” Friday ,” which is being “hailed” as the worst song ever. Honestly? It’s not that bad. A little doltish and Auto-Tuned, but nothing that another wretched spin of “Boom Boom Pow” couldn’t make you forget. Rebecca Black’s meteoric rise (about 20 million views, so far) makes us reflect upon other questionable phenomena in pop history, the kinds whose stories still haven’t been told on the big screen. Here are five we’d like to revisit.
