The wooden reality star appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno yesterday (note: Really, Jay Leno?!?) and explained how her marriage to the NBA power forward would have fallen apart regardless of whether or not their actions were filmed. “I truly, honestly believe it would have been the same thing,” Kim said. “We are exactly who we are, whether the cameras are on or off, and that’s why I love my family so much. What you see is what you get. Goldman Sachs lost more than $2 billion after “low drama” exec Greg Smith thrust himself into the global spotlight Wednesday with a very public resignation letter that scathingly denounced his employer. In the trading hours after the op-ed began circulating, the firm’s shares dropped 3.4 percent, the third-biggest decline in the S&P, Bloomberg reports. Smith’s take-that-(high-paid)-job-and-shove-it missive – published as an Op-Ed piece in The New York Times – blasted what he termed Goldman’s “toxic and destructive culture.” The executive director said the storied investment bank is indifferent to the interests of clients, who high-level bosses referred to as “muppets.” He said he attended meetings where the topic of how to help clients never came up. “It’s purely about how we can make the most possible money off of them. If you were an alien from Mars and sat in on one of those meetings, you would believe that a client’s success or progress was not part of the thought process at all,” Smith, 33, wrote in his caustic goodbye note, titled “Why I Am Leaving Goldman Sachs.” He said that in the last year, “I have seen five different managing directors refer to their own clients as ‘muppets.’” He added: “Today, if you make enough money for the firm (and are not currently an ax murderer) you will be promoted into a position of influence.” Smith, who had worked at Goldman for nearly 12 years and said his clients had a trillion dollars in assets, wrote: “I knew it was time to leave when I realized I could no longer look students in the eye and tell them what a great place this was to work. “I truly believe that this decline in the firm’s moral fiber represents the single most serious threat to its long-term survival.” The no-holds-barred missive was quickly trending on Twitter and triggered an uproar in financial circles. Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein and President Gary Cohn responded in a plainly worded internal memo. “We were disappointed to read the assertions made by this individual that do not reflect our values, our culture and how the vast majority of people at Goldman Sachs think about the firm and the work it does on behalf of our clients,” the memo read. The Op-Ed stunned those close to Smith, who described the ex-Goldman vice president as an unassuming political junkie. “Doing something as publicly as this is quite a surprise,” said a source who knows Smith. “He’s a low-drama type person.” Smith, a Ping-Pong whiz from South Africa, is single. He interned for Goldman at Stanford University, then scored a full-time position with the firm in 2001. As he climbed the ranks at the investment bank, Smith, whose dad worked as a pharmacist, lived a lifestyle true to his roots, a source said. He rented an apartment and never bought a car. In 2010, he moved to London to work as the head of the firm’s U.S. equity derivatives business in Europe. “He doesn’t fit the stereotype of a Wall Street type,” said a person close to Smith. “He was more concerned with having enough money for people in his life who were important to him than spending it on luxury items.” Experts estimated that Smith, a mid-level executive, probably was paid modestly by banking standards – less than $750,000 a year. The extraordinary excuse came as new mobile phone records showed the disgraced economist slept with 10 different hookers all charging more than £1,200 a time. As the latest sleazy revelations emerged, Strauss-Kahn’s lawyer Henri Leclerc said: ‘There is no way he could have known these women were prostitutes. At these parties, people were not dressed, and I defy you to tell the difference between an “undressed” prostitute and any other “undressed” woman.’ Strauss-Kahn, 62, has already confessed to taking part in swingers parties and having a ‘liberated but legal’ sex life. Now France’s Le Point magazine has seen records from a mobile phone lent to Strauss-Kahn by Lille businessman Fabrice Paszkowski showing he was in contact with ten different call girls. One 29-year-old prostitute named Jade told police how Strauss-Kahn was ‘treated like the Messiah’ at orgies that were ‘packed with well-known people’. Another 30-year-old prostitute named Florence said she took part in 11 orgies over six years with the world’s former top banker. She added: ‘At these evenings, DSK had sex with every girl in the room.’ ‘I’m not saying he raped me, but I got the feeling that he liked rough sex.’ Police are set to interview Strauss-Kahn in the coming weeks over his links to the prostitution racket. Le Point magazine said: ‘DSK will be summoned to Lille and most likely placed in custody to be confronted with the allegations against him.’ Strauss-Kahn has meanwhile made a discreet return to public life by giving a speech on the global economy at a conference in China. This is still happening , NYC? Police shot and killed an armed man whose girlfriend said had gone outside in his pajamas to check on a possible break-in at his Brooklyn home Thursday night. Dwayne Browne, 27, was shot once in the chest about 10:40 p.m. outside 943 Schenck Ave. in East New York and died at Brookdale Hospital at 11:46 p.m., police said. “The officers told me they had to shoot him,” said his girlfriend, who gave only her first name, Juanita. “They kept calling him the shooter. The officer said, ‘I’m sorry. It was one of us. But he wouldn’t put the gun down.’” Juanita said she hadn’t seen him with a gun. But Deputy Commissioner Paul Browne, the NYPD’s top spokesman, said a firearm was recovered at the scene. A police source said Dwayne Browne was shot by an officer who responded to a scuffle outside the two-family home. The source said the scuffle involved two men trying to force a third person through the front door. City Councilman Charles Barron (D-Brooklyn), who said he was briefed by police, said a woman who witnessed that confrontation called 911 and later told cops the duo ran away as officers were arriving. Juanita said she and Browne were watching “The Resident,” a thriller, when they heard noises outside. “He looked through the blinds before he went downstairs,” she said. “He said he saw two people running away. It sounded like someone was trying to break in. He went downstairs to check it out. I heard one gunshot. “He came back upstairs and he was bleeding,” she said. “He looked at me and said, ‘Baby, I’ve been shot.’” At that point, Juanita said, cops rushed into the apartment and one officer pointed a gun at her head and refused to help Browne. “His chest was moving up and down,” she remembered. “He was fighting for his life. “They wouldn’t help him.” Shoot first, ask questions last, huh?
