Alley Boy Say He Isn’t Hating, Just Speaking The Truth

Atlanta bred rapper Alley Boy has been the talk of Hip-Hop within the last week with the release of his newest mixtape effort Ni**anati. With a fitting dialogue from actor Christopher Walken from the influential movie King Of New York serving as the intro, Alley Boy’s track “I Want In” questions T.I. king of the south reign and Young Jeezy’s street authenticity. While he has previously fielded questions about the intent of the record there is still much to be known about the man behind these gritty street tales… Continue

Our History Makers: Hank Aaron

Baseball purists and the media may still obsess over how Barry Bonds broke Hammering Hank’s home run record, but Hank Aaron doesn’t care. All Aaron knows is that he held the record for 33 years. For more than three decades, Aaron’s 755 career home runs was the proverbial carrot for every slugger’s stick. And by 2007, Aaron was ready to let it go. “It’s probably the most hallowed record out there, as far as I’m concerned, but it’s now in the hands of somebody else,” said Aaron, who retired in 1976. “My hope today…is the achievement of this record will inspire others to chase their own dreams.” Aaron congratulates Barry Bonds: Aaron – born Henry Louis Aaron in Mobile, AL – knows plenty about dreams. He quit high school in 1951 to play for the Indianapolis Clowns in the Negro League. He started in the major league’s in 1954. He broke Babe Ruth’s record in 1974. “I thought, we’ve come along way baby,” Aaron said in an interview regarding breaking’s Ruth’s record, “From Mobile, Ala., to breaking the most prestigious record in baseball. I feel very proud of myself like I had shown everybody that I could play major league baseball.” Breaking Ruth’s record not only showed the world that Aaron could play major league baseball, but it was another signpost of what would become African-Americans’ domination of professional sports. Aaron on breaking Ruth’s record: A few notable achievements: • Aaron made the All-Star team every year from 1955 until 1975. • Won three Gold Glove Awards. • Won the National League Most Valuable Player Award in 1957 Read Aaron’s bio here . Madonna Calls M.D.N.A ‘Action-Packed’

Queen of Pop tells MTV News most of her upcoming album is more ‘high-energy’ than award-winning ‘Masterpiece.’ By Jocelyn Vena Madonna Photo: MTV News Madonna has teased fans not only inadvertently with a leaked demo of her first single for “Gimme All Your Luvin,” but also with “Masterpiece” (which also appears on the soundtrack for her film, “W.E.”) . So far it seems that the two very different tracks show the two very different sides that the Queen of Pop is pursuing on her next studio release, M.D.N.A. While “Gimme” plays up Madge’s playful, upbeat persona, “Masterpiece,” as she explained to MTV News, is a different story. ” ‘Masterpiece’ is one of the few kind of more down-tempo songs, more reflective,” she told MTV News at the New York City premiere of “W.E.” “I think the majority of the record is more action-packed,” she teased. “More high-energy.” It seems, then, that what fans have heard of “Gimme” is more of what they will hear on the album. The album will reportedly get a March release date. It features production from Martin Solveig on its lead single, which gets some presumably sassy assists from two fierce female MCs, Nicki Minaj and M.I.A. Both ladies will reportedly take the stage with the pop icon to perform the track at the Super Bowl halftime show . Madonna also worked with longtime collaborator and Ray Of Light producer William Orbit , who produced the Golden Globe-winning “Masterpiece.” “We’ve worked on stuff for so many years that we kind of finish each other’s sentences. He knows my taste and what I like,” she explained at the premiere. “Magic happens when we get into a recording studio together.” At the Globes, Madonna recalled how “Masterpiece” came together. “[My manager Guy Oseary] harangued me for the entire time I was filming and editing my movie to write a song,” she said during her acceptance speech for Best Original Song. “And I said, ‘Please, Guy, I’m trying to focus on being a director and I want people to pay attention to the film and I don’t have time.’ So then I finished the film and I started making my record and somehow magically and miraculously the song emerged, ‘Masterpiece,’ so thank you, Guy Oseary, for being so irritating.” What are you looking forward to on Madonna’s next album? T.I. And Young Jeezy Join Tyga’s All-Star ‘Rack City’ Cast

‘To have two of the legends that I’m big fans of on the record is crazy,’ Tyga tells MTV News. By Rob Markman, with reporting by FLX T.I., Young Jeezy and Tyga Photo: MTV News The “Rack City” remix video is shaping up to be quite the all-star affair. If Fabolous and Wale weren’t enough for fans, Tyga went ahead and recruited two more rap heavyweights for the clip. Last week, the Young Money solider set up shop in Atlanta and invited T.I. and Young Jeezy to guest on his street hit and its upcoming visual. “I heard the record, loved it, seen it go crazy in the club. I couldn’t visualize it without a Young verse on there, so I just went ahead,” Jeezy told MTV News from the video set. “The homey hit me up for the video, and we in the A-Town, we in the city, we here, turnt up.” Usually, pulling features from such big names is quite the chore, especially for newer artists like Tyga. But already, the “Rack City” remix features some pretty notable MCs, with the Snowman and Tip just the latest to jump onboard. “I didn’t think the song would be bigger than outside of L.A., because that’s like an L.A. sound,” Tyga said, “So to have two of the legends that I’m big fans of on the record is crazy.” When talking about his decision to jump on the record, T.I. was as nonchalant as could be. “For me, I got reached out to. They told me to add my two cents in, so I did just that,” Tip said. “When they told me the video was coming, I picked out an outfit.” During a separate January shoot for the same video, Wale joked about the influence Tyga’s “Rack City” had on strippers. “I’m just happy that I can be a part of a record that’s influencing and making so many young, ambitious dancers so much money,” Wale playfully told MTV News while shooting the song’s video down in Miami on January 13. “It’s very beneficial to so many young women across the country. The strip clubs are stress relief. Welcome to Rack City!” What do you think Jeezy and T.I. will add to “Rack City”? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists T.I. Young Jeezy Tyga

Tracy Morgan is Fine, Tweets Tracy Morgan: ‘Superman Ran Into a Little Kryptonite’

A day after collapsing at Sundance — prompting his swift hospitalization and his publicist’s even swifter refutation of alcohol and drug speculation — Tracy Morgan has just tweeted that he’s recovering nicely. It was just that, well… Here, he can explain. For the record, “kryptonite” is clearly a euphemism for Melissa Leo, with whom Morgan was photographed (above, with screenwriter Ron Nyswaner) at a Creative Coalition event shortly before his incident. Must… retrieve… inhaler… Superman ran into a little kryptonite. The high altitude in Utah shook up this kid from Brooklyn.
