Following reports that claimed this long-time judge would be moved to a mentor capacity on American Idol Season 12, Deadline confirms that the music producer once again be in his regular spot when the Fox competition returned in January. “Just heard Randy is back on Idol,” Tweeted former castmate Simon Cowell last night. “Right decision.” It’s still unclear which stars will join Jackson and new panelist Mariah Carey, who have collaborated on a number of hit songs. The leading contenders for the remaining spots are Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and Enrique Igelsias, though sources say Adam Lambert is still under consideration.
